I would only jump out of a plane if it were firmly on the ground
As for formula 1, it should be as safe as possible, but it would become as popular again if there were more crashes... even if the driver has no injuries... nobody has to die!
They should make the cars harder to drive to bring back the 'edge' but make sure the driver is well protected by cocooning him in a fireproof, shatterproof ( you get the idea ) shell, which limits his head movements too.
The there would be more thrills and spills but it would be reasonably safe
There's no point in grooving the tyres, they will look perfectly find in LFS!
As they are generated on the fly, I'd imagine that it would cost quite a bit more CPU to work out the deformations if there are real grooves, rather than a texture.
Of course Scawen could do this, but it might hurt FPS for some of the slower GFX cards out there
I've driven thousands of miles in my job... at a guess 15 years X 100 miles / day , given 200 working days a year about 300,000 miles + weekend and leisure driving..... countless miles....
I'd say that for 99.999999 percent of the time during this period I was actually looking at the road ahead of me and in my mirrors, and not at the dashboard of my car.
So your idea of immersive is to look at the cockpit of the car ??? Then you will probably crash a lot IRL
Reality (Immersion) is the road ahead and behind, not your dials..... pretty though they may be.
That said, I'll agree that it's good for LFS as a commodity to have better looking cockpits, for the boy racers out there
No, They'd have shown us the F1 before release so the problem couldn't have happened at the last minute...... and if a problem occurred earlier, they would have had plenty of time to make a day 6, 7 ,8 pages......
So, no, I don't think there was a problem.... I think the devs are EVIL and like to see us all suffer!
Anyway, enjoy the show and the patch will be here very soon
