That was a fun chase, man. Good job holding it together as long as you did... it's hard to keep concentration in these long races with this twitchy of a car. I just had you as a rabbit to keep my mind on task. As soon as I passed you I lost all my concentration, tbh.
If this was Bernat in the chicane, I drafted back by him on the straight and had the preferred line into the corner. He chose to try to make it 2-wide, which was a bad idea.
I had indeed gone a lap down by making an early stop, but if not for the SC I could have cycled back up to the "lead" pack. I was not obliged to stop racing in that case.
Sorry for the contact in any case (I asked Nathan to apologize for me after the race), but I think the weight of blame in that particular incident wasn't on me.
This is totally fine with me, and I appreciate that it's a more realistic approach to circuit evolution. But one of the advantages of sim racing over real racing is that you can race tracks that no longer exist in the real world, so why shouldn't that advantage extend to fictional tracks that "no longer exist"?
Of course, there's only one Eric in the LFS dev team and his skills can probably be put to better use than graphically updating an out-of-date track.
Eh, personally I'd like to have the old layout of Westhill updated to the new graphical standard, plus the new layout. (A bit like modern Monza + Monza '66 in Assetto Corsa.) Nothing wrong with being a demanding consumer.
(Not that I'm going to throw a fit when I don't get what I want.)
