So if everyone is posting screen shots AS WELL AS skin files, does that mean it is allowed for me to use the skins that are being posted here? (i'm new to LFS, so excuse me for silly questions.)
If not, what is the point of uploading skin files? (eg. FZR_LeMan.jpg etc) Showing off your work is adequately achieved by just a nice screen shot.
Just want to know that before someone accuses me for "stealing" their work.
You can drift GTR cars, but, they are bit of a handful and takes LOTS of chassis tweaking and practice. ALso, their drift styles are not as dramatic as road cars such as xrt or LX6. Slicks, lack of steering angles and different suspension geometries are just a few things that make it hard to drift a GTR. You usually need max caster, strong front wing setting, stiff rear shocker bound setting, stiff rear sway bar setting, and fairly dramatic rear camber to get them go side ways.
They are only good for some high speed drifts (hi speed, low angle), but if u r into show drift (big angles, low speed) then I recommend u to stick to the road cars.
I once had that "...insim time out" error too. It turned out to be the fact that I unzipped all the wav files and the config file in the main directory of LFS.
You have to have a sub directory in LFS called "Spotter", in it, u should have all the wave files and the config file. The "LFSspotter.exe" file should be in the main LFS folder, NOT the "Spotter" sub folder.
Once I did that, it worked like a dream! try that. Oh, dont put any password in ur admin password area. Just leave it blank. Thats what I do, and pit spotter works in single and multiplayer modes just fine.
cool. i have just made some minor changes in the driver settings. Now all fixed, looks nice and smooth. Thanks for your help, no one has told me that, appreciate ur input.
well, thats the only skin i have, 512 instead of 1024, not my fault for only having low res ones...
correct me if I am doing something wrong here:-
By clicking on "Enable Dither" makes no difference whatsoever. Clicking on "Enable Mip Filter" does very little to the distance objects, eg. fence, trees, poles, but NOT skins!!...But the only feature that will make a noticable difference in anti-aliasing to track/grass, objects and the skin is the "Mip Bias".
Here is the 2 screen shots (1280 X 1024, 32bit) with Mip Bias set to 0 and -4 respectively. See the anti-aliasing difference in the grass and palm tress especially? My game is set to max Mip Bias all the time, "0" that is.
Someone point out what should I do if my anti-aliasing feature is "not turned on". What r ur settings?
In the second pic of mine i just did a quick one, didnt really mean to take off or add any OSD stuff. So there was no any intentions. Do u want me to do some screenies of my game detail levels and resolutions for u just to prove how I run my game? I dont think thats neccessary. I will leave this debate here. We are all here to drive, not to argue.
sorry there are the skins. they are bit low in quality, but thats all I have, does that matter?
No i am not clear what rendering is. Someone please enlighten me. I am new to LFS stuff...so please dont be so harsh towards newcomers. Also I do have anti-aliasing on, it is on max setting.
I have no 3D files of the track, but I saw someone posted a screen shot of his and everyone just rendered it as it is. So I thought I'll do the same...whats have i done wrong?
thanx guys. appreciate that! so what setting is recommended? 3 is too small yeah? 4 or 5 maybe? I only have a 512/128 ADSL.
Also I noticed, when I'm serving, a message says "New Guest Timed out" or similar every now and then, does that mean there is someone trying to log onto my server but did not get on? Does that mean he/she has a slow connection/high ping rate so he cant get on? Can I fix that by lowering the PPS setting to 3 or something?
