To be fair the BMW Sauber looks only a bit like the Ferrari and the Williams to a degree. Any other F1 skin on the car just looks plain wrong imo.

Very annoying, when I did a 1:41.64 with Csimpok's setup on SO1 with the FOX, I didn't even realise that you could save the replay.

I love this series, it has all the ingredients, very fast formulas, loads of overtaking and crashes, and up and coming drivers hungry to make it into formula 1.

The first race of the season in Valencia was dominated by the Piquet jnr who's start was matched by his sublime race pace. Lewis Hamilton, the young Brit, had a very poor start (dropped to about 9th from 3rd), but managed to work himself back up to 2nd, having pressured his teammate Premat into making a mistake.

I think I've heard it mentioned before in another thread but...

it would really add to the realism of the game if there was an option for a warm-up/parade lap (since practically every racing series has one). It should be implemented so that we can have rolling starts (not just for ovals), and it would definatley help with putting heat into the tires.

The only possible problem with this is that, it would be difficult to implement a system to stop overtaking on the lap (maybe a warning system similar to travelling in the wrong direction), and to make sure everyone is lined up on the grid properly (perhaps illuminate each individuals starting position for reference, and anyone in front of theirs will start in the pits).

Even though the races can lack overtaking and seem boring to some, I find it impossible to resist watching the best drivers in the best track cars/formulae.

Could anyone offer me advice on what may be the cause of my following problem.

I had my Live For Speed folder stored in my 'desktop' file, as it allows me to easily import setups and skins. The problem occured after/shortly after someone ran 'system restore'. My 'desktop' file had been completely wiped clean and there was no trace of anything being deleted in the recycle bin. Obviously this has caused me to lose Live For Speed, not to mention all my setups that I took ages tweaking. I have never come across anything quite like this. My first explanation was that it may have been a virus, although I do have AVG Free anti-virus installed and a scan showed that no viruses were found. I am in the process of re-installing LFS and am fully aware that I have lost one of my unlocks. Could anyone suggest what may have caused this problem so that this does not happen again. Any advice is appreciated.

Sorry, no pics guys, but it was a damn good day, and saw plenty of close racing. The excitement of the crowd was electrifying in the feature race when team GBR overtook the ossies and Brazil in the pits, only it to all end before one lap. Piquet was top draw throughout, especially his brilliant passing manouvre to overtake Australia, and he got a very good reception from the crowd after that. Loads of the dutch turned up with air horns and smoke grenades. Laughed when Verstappen was the first retirement of the series.

It will take place after the F1 season, and the first race is at Brands Hatch on the 25th September. They hope it will become the World Cup of motorsport pitting countries against each other in open-wheeled V8's. There will be one car per country, and there are 25 countries taking part. Personally I am really looking forward to it, and have already got tickets to Brands (only £28). Whats everyone elses opinion on it?

Thanks for your replies, I have tried to disable any programs that have some kind of auto update, but the problem persists. However, on some ocassions I do see a small yellow triange with an exclamation mark inside it, this is at the bottom right hand corner by the date/time, and it says that I am low on virtual memory. Could this be anything to do with it, or is it just windows update?

Whilst racing, usually online, my computer frequently (every 5 mins) decides to cut out of LFS and return to the desktop, but LFS remains running and I am still online in the server. I have no other programs running in the background and the computer doesn't appear to be doing any other task. Could anyone tell me whats going on?

My spec is:
P4 - 2.4Ghz
1024MB RAM
GeForce 4200Ti

I've tried following the instructions, I move the zip file into my lfs folder, but then when I right click, there is no "Extract to here" option, only "Extract all". This creates a folder, but doesn't seem to have installed the patch properly, as it does not say 0.5P2 at the bottom of the entry screen.

Can anyone help me please?
