I have forwarded all of the ports on my router plus unblocked Dcon.exe, lfs.exe and made new ports in windows firewall, yet every time I try to connect to my server, I get a 'Connect timed out' error, how can I make my server work?

Quote from magnanimous :I'm sure this is a necro post, but this server really needs to come back. Having recently returned to LFS and not seeing it up there almost brought me to tears!

I am willing to be active on the server since I am still a member, too bad insim isn't working on the server atm though

Quote from DANIEL-CRO :Why not plug into PC?

Hopefully this will fix the problem. If you're having a similar problem to me, you will need to get one 3.5mm Stereo Jack to Twin Phono RCA Sockets Adapter Cable and one 3.5mm Coupler Adaptor Stereo Jack Female Audio Joiner Connector

That way, you will be able to use headphones (non-gaming ones) whilst a HDMI cable is plugged in .

Sorry to post again but I really need an answer, what should I do? Which adaptor do I need or shall I just buy a pair of xbox 360 headphones to plug into the controller? Or a wireless headphone adaptor to use wireless xbox 360 headphones?
Headphones not working whilst plugged into monitor

When I plug my headphones into the green audio output on my monitor, sound is still being played through the speakers.

I have an HDMI cable plugged in from my xbox 360 into the monitor, not sure if that's why the headphones do not work though.

What can I do? If I need to buy an adaptor for my xbox 360, which adaptor do I need?

And btw my headphones have a single audio jack, not a red or white connector.

What can I do?

Regards,
Edward.

Quote from Whiskey :Most modern TVs have an independent setting for headphone volume, so you have to mute (or set volume to zero with the remote) the speakers, and enter the menu to change the volume of the headset. Could this be the case with your monitor?

I am using an actual monitor, not a tv screen. And I have no option to change the audio output on the monitor.
Xbox 360- can't use headphones whilst HDMI cable is plugged in

I have an HDMI cable plugged in from my monitor to xbox 360, but every time I plug in the audio jack for headphones, the sound is still being produced through the monitor speakers.

How can I make my standard, non-gaming headphones work? I've tried plugging in the headphones into the back of the monitor but still, sound is being produced though the speakers.

What can I do or what adapter do I need for my xbox?

Forza 4- Brake Pedal too sensitive

I have a Madcatz MC2 wheel for xbox 360 and when I play forza 4, the brake pedal is far too sensitive. As soon as I press it, full pressure is applied in the game causing the wheels to lock up.

I know that you can adjust the brake pressure level in the game but I would rather find another solution.

What can I do or what is the best setting for the brake pedal for the game and wheel? And also, does anyone else have this problem?

Also, I find it strange how the problem only occurs in Forza 4 and not in Forza 3...

Help would be appreciated.

Edward.

Turns out the car was scrapped by a company called Jordan's back in 1993

Still no reply from Opel, some people might think that the car might be in a barn somewhere...I've also put a WANTED add on the Opel Manta club website, and I am also going to send off a vehicle detail application to the DVLA, hopefully they can find out some info on the cars state and location as well as other forum members.

Quote from GAVD999 :As the guy on the manta forum posted it's not been taxed for a long time (1993)

The vehicle details for DAP 301T are:
Date of Liability 01 08 1993
Date of First Registration 15 06 1979
Year of Manufacture 1979
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1979cc
CO₂ Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available

Doesn't look good, unless someone has it tucked up in a barn somewhere, I would say try Pistonheads pretty good for this kind of thing

I've tried the Opel forum, just emailed the manufacturer , tried here and now I will try piston heads to see if I can get any luck

Thought I'd might as well ask on here as well, this link will take you to the Opel Manta Club forum, basically I would just like to know where the car might be or whether it still exists hope it does.

NOTE: I did make a silly mistake of mistaking the number 1 for the letter I but I think most people will think that when you see the picture attached in the link above.

Help or your opinion on the current state of the car would be much appreciated.

Edward.

Quote from GenesisX :Is there an option to change the priority for all SATA HD? I remember when I used to play around with my dinky EEE PC, it had the same thing. In the boot priority, it would be like - 1. HD, 2. LAN, 3. Floppy or something like that, so in some other place in the BIOS, there's a place to switch the HD Priority.

I honestly don't know, I've looked everywhere but can't find an option to select the D drive to boot instead of the C drive. If this is any help, I have BIOS version: Dell Inc 2.2.0 29/03/2007, had a look on google but can't find a 'howto' tutorial on how to do this .

Quote from MadCatX :You can change the boot device order in BIOS. Vista should also be able to recognize XP on the other hard drive and offer you a boot menu, but the detection of other OSes is done during installation. It's probably possible to rerun the detection even from an already installed OS though.

Windows might have trouble booting if you move if from one computer to another because it remembers HW configuration of the computer it was installed on...

Went into the BIOS and it only says 'SATA Hard Drive' not 'SATA Hard Drive- C (hdd number)' and 'SATA Hard Drive- D (hdd number)' In other words, it does recognise drive D but I cannot get it to show up in the boot sequence option in the BIOS. Only drive C shows up there, the other options are: PATA Hard Drive, USB/external device and Floppy drive.

No, because lfs is a racing simulator, not a cruise or any other type of sim.
Can I boot up Windows XP and Vista on the same pc?

I have a HDD from another computer which had Windows XP installed on it. I removed that Hard Drive and now I have two Hard Drives connected to my main computer, drive C (which is the main Drive and has windows vista home premium installed on it) and drive D which has XP installed on it.

Is there any way in which I can boot Windows XP up from drive D on startup? Because at the moment, my computer will only let me boot with drive C with windows vista, I cannot figure out how to chose between Vista and XP or get some sort of screen up which says:

Select operating system:

Windows Vista Home Premium

Windows XP Professional ...

Help would be much appreciated, however if this won't work, what would be a good solution without having to buy a copy of windows XP, 7 or any other OS?

Regards,
Edward.

Btw I have tried opening WINNT32.dll in the D drive but it comes up with a 'file is correct/missing' error

Quote from Chriship :The following instructions should make SIG work again:
- In the SIG install folder navigate to the bin folder.
- In this folder the localization files are located named setupgrid_??.properties with the language as suffix
- You can open the localization file in a normal text editor like notepad
- e.g. if you have a german Windows edit the setupgird_de.properties (for english, or a language not listed use the setupgrid.properties)
- When you have open the file in notepad, then navigate to the bottom where you find the following line: baseUrl = http://setupgrid.net/setups.php?car={0}&track={1}&patch={2}
- Change this to: baseUrl = http://setupgrid.net/setups.php?car={0}&track={1}&patch=0.5z&dummy={2}
- Now you have hardcoded to always get setups for the LFS 0.5z version.
- Restart SIG and this should work

It works now, thanks!
