I got two quotes, £836.53 and £876.35 annually. I said that I had a uk provisional licence...silly question but will I have to re-apply for car insurance once I get my full UK licence or will the cost still be at £836.53 once I get the full licence?
I found quite a good deal (I think), £3,728.66 Annually for a:
2011 Volkswagen POLO MK5 HATCHBACK 5-DR 1.2 Moda....what do you guys think? And btw my birthday isnt until August so hopefully the offer won't go up
I looked at some Vauxhalls, Citerons, Peugeots, Renaults, Fiats, Volvos and the Opel manta but all of them were between £4000 and £10,000, I'm actually surprised that I got £3,728.66 for a VW :O
So really what you guys are saying is, I could go for most of the cars on that list, apart from the Opel Manta and Opel Ascona OR try to find a not so common car which is driven by teens in the UK which will lower the cost of insurance?
And yeah I would ask my Dad for advice, but sadly he isn't around any more , but I remember him saying that he either had a Ford Cortina or an Opel Manta GT as his first car, although times have changed where insurance was probably a lot cheaper back then......so either I will have to try and find a car which is not commonly used by UK teens or hope for the best at the ones off of my list.
Thank you everyone for commenting, one other thing though, out of that list and if you were me living in the UK at almost 17, which car would you go for and why? Feel free to add a car which isnt on that list though .
Since I will be 17 soon, I will be wanting to purchase a car after I've got my licence.
I have got a few ideas on what I would like but the problem is insurance and tax.
Here are some of the ideas that I have in mind for a first car, please feel free to add any more suggestions or tips on how I can save money and what car to buy, and also how much they cost used.
1st: FIAT Grande Punto 1.4
2nd: Vauxhall Corsa VXR 1.6
3rd: Opel Ascona A or B 1.9 SR (1975)
4th: 2012 (62 reg) VW Golf MK6 1.6 TDI
5th: Ford FIESTA HATCHBACK 3-DOOR 1.25 Zetec
6th: Renault Clio 1.2 16V Extreme 3dr
7th: Volkswagen POLO MK5 HATCHBACK 5-DR 1.2 Moda
8th: Vauxhall Astra 1.4i 16V SXi 5dr
9th: Opel Manta SR Berlinetta 1.9
NOTE: Out of all of these, I love the look of the Opel Ascona A and B (in red) and also the Opel Manta SR Berlinetta 1.9, the Vauxhall Astra 1.4i is a close 2nd and 3rd has to be the VW golf mk6 1.6.
Any advice on these cars? Which one should I buy used, which one is cheapest to insure and finally which car is the most reliable?
Thanks for the link but I mean an actual person showing me how to play. I've already seen one person do a tutorial on it but I find it hard to follow after the first part of the song.
I know LFS forum is the wrong place to ask for this but...
If anyone has heard of the old group 'Genesis' and their song in the album 'Selling England by the Pound' released in 1974 (I think) which was called 'Firth Of Fifth', I would really like a tutorial on how to play the song since I cannot find a good tutorial anywhere.
If anyone is willing to put up a tutorial on how to play the song, I will be very grateful since I don't know how to read piano sheet music, I learn by ear.
Thanks,
Edward .
And no, I am not 40 odd, I am 16..I just prefer old bands such as Genesis, Supertramp and Mike and The Mechanics rather than Nicki Manaj, JB and DJ Icantmakemusic2013omglookatmeimfamousmummy.
Hello, so I have just had a crazy idea that I should host a server each weekend so people can race in cars/a car on a track...let me explain.
I will be hosting a server every saturday, a new track and car/cars will be available to race in each weekend. The server will be called: (without quotes)
' Edward M 2013 ' and the server will be online at 6:00pm (uk time) UTC -1 so people can have plenty of time to practise before the race actually starts.
Each race will start at exactly 7:00pm (UK TIME) UTC - 1 hour
Before each event, I will post on lfsforum all of the information at least 4 days before.
If you would like to join, please feel free to, you don't have to sign up to anything.
NOTE: If for some reason I am unable to host the server, I will need someone to have my server password and other details. If you would like to be a backup admin, please PM me.
The first race will start on the 19/10/13 at 7:00pm (uk time) UTC -1, the track will be BL1R and the car will be XRT and the race will be 12 laps long. Pit stop IS required.
If you have any questions about the event, please post below.
So Scawen, Eric and Victor, are you alive and are you still prepared to keep working on lfs?
That is all people want to know, people won't be saying "OMG S3 NOW, I WANT I WANT I WANT!!! GIVE ME NEW PHYSICS, SOUNDS, TEXTURES AND A BIKE MOD" because you deserve respect for the pure enjoyment that s1 and s2 have delivered over the years.
Hi, I've gone through the regedit process and changed the OEMbackground file value to 1 in the registry editor plus created two new folders (info and backgrounds) in C:\windows\system32\oobe and also put a jpg image in the background folder which is only 72kb, what else can I do? Because I only see the default log on/log off screen on startup
Noticed another bug. When I select the BF1 and then go to the pits and select the FXR again, the driver is sitting very low as if he was sitting in the BF1:
It would be nice if there was an option to adjust the brightness in game or (I know this has been mentioned a lot of times) but night racing with working lights, also in the autocross layout editor, track parts such as S bends, chicanes and sharp right and left bends would be good. What do other people think?
