I think the devs should take this late hacking a little more serious. There must be a security breach on the program or on the master server...
I mean, if this hacking was worked with a keylogger, then it would be a coincidence that the hacker has lfs installed in his computer, and would know how to join servers and play...
Even more strange is that the hacker didn't use other logins he definitly would got access to! (you can imagine)
I'm just saying some improvements in security could be made, because things like this have been happening lately.
Posting here confirms you as a member of the "We're glad LFS is growing in beauty" club. Yes, LFS has just had a new patch, and we think it's looking more beautiful than ever!
The cockpit's beauty is growing as shown in the VW Scirocco, now everyone can have a beautiful/realistic cockpit while you race!
In short, because of ALL the changes to LFS (mainly the graphics/beauty of it), we love it even more.
Does that describe you? Then post in here, and join the club
huh?
I fail to see where this enthusiasm comes from...
I wont whine for lack of content (despite I think we could have a few more tracks and even some other car classes)
But I can't share of that enthusiasm, as I don't see a reason for it!
Let's be reallistic about it, shall we?
And again, I just cannot understand the "Knights of the Round Table" allways coming forward for the honor of the devs, like:
- "Be gratefull for what you have..."
- "It will be done when it does..."
- "Raise your hands to God, and thank him for all the content you have on this marvelous simulator..."
We don't have to be thankfull for nothing! All of us are here, and play LFS because we have paid for a license, and we like it, or we wouldn't be playing it!
Theres no need to become defending the "honor" of the devs... I believe they do it themselves!
I'm of course an LFS fan myself, I have other simulator too, and I believe (and that will allways be a personal oppinion) that LFS is the overal best simulator, but I'm realistic and can't be so much unthusiast right now...
(just for the record it's 3:00 AM and I'm tired, so pardon me for my grammar... :shy
Couldn't you simply save LFS to a USB stick / key, unlock it on there, then plug that into your PC then either run it straight off that or copy it over to the main PC drive?
Sorry if this is stupid, I really don't know much about PCs, but to me that seems like a logical option
It is not stupid, but my guess is that the game performance, loading from a flash drive would be...
...disastrous?
But then again, like has been said, it would be fine to keep a backup of the lfs folder in a spare drive (and a flash drive would do just fine), and restore it whenever needed.
The person who did that did not change your password otherwise you could not enter the forum using your account or am I missing something?
Joris, Everybody has 2 passwords:
1- Game password - allows you to unlock your license, and play online
2- Web password - allows you to login on lfs world, forum, etc. (all lfs web services.
@ orange_boy_uk,
I'm really sorry about that mate, and I won't point any more theories about the cause of that, but when/if you can solve that account problem, maybe the devs can just cancell the license you just bought and credit the money to your lfs account (you could allways use it with the hi-res skins for example) - This is just a theory though...
Are you suggesting that he should use a tweaked setup and just pretend to be using Race_S? Where's the fun in that?
I'm pretty sure there is an obligation to send the setup to the "marshals" (or whatever) right after finishing the race, without allowing the drivers to pit...
At least if I was organising such a competition, that's what I would do, and I think that is the only way to ensure everyone uses the same set.
... You can race any type of vehicle, including... a trailer full of angry Scottish sailors, to name but a few...
lol, that would be quite a challenge!
About the scirocco, you must agree with me that is not the same to drive a regular road car (out of the stand) and to drive an "improved for racing" car.
All I said is that LFS is a racing simulator, and as a racing simulator it would make more sense to include a racing (more thrilling) version of the car.
You seem to have misunderstood the concept of racing and apparently LFS. You can race any type of vehicle, including wheelchairs, lawnmowers...
Concenpt of LFS?! I'm sure, despite is possible to race them, bringing a wheelchair or a lawnmower to LFS wouldn't be really an improvement...
A new car is allways good news. If nobody knew about the scirocco, then nobody would be complainting. But I have to be honest, it doesn't make sense to me adding (another) "normal" road car to LFS, since it is supposed to be a racing simulator.
It would make more sense adding the scirocco, ok, but the sports version (GT24) since this is a racing car (and so, fitting well on a racing simulator).
Oh well... Let's just hope after the GC, VW will allow LFS to include the GT24.
If not, I'm not that enthusiastic...
