That was a quite eventful race, but this is already usual in NDR events.
Had a nice first stint with the battle against Gehammar until the bad lag of the server suddenly sent me into the wall while driving side by side with him. Then handed the car over to my team-mate Ariday on 4th position. He was driving a good stint. Shortly after I've taken the car over again, the SC came out which rather played in our hands although we had to start from 8th again at the restart of the race. Before the last SC came out I was on 4th again directly behind Lombardi, but I don't know whether a move on him would have been this smart - considering the last rounds from him and Mike's warning on our Vent server. :P When Lombardi made an over-ambitious move on Hagner, we were back in 2nd position. But race was too short for getting close on Heijerman. However, we can be happy with our 2nd place.
Congratulations to Genuine Racing for the well deserved win and Smoking Team!
Nice program! Everything worked for me except the fact that it's often lagging heavily if the program is running and it adopts odd values (e.g. 53th gear) during those lag periods.
I hope you continue working on this. It could be of use if it's working properly - for onboard laps on YouTube or broadcasts showing a lap around the circuit.
I won't be there. Since my 2nd place in the championship is almost secure - if Dario doesn't participate, I want do something more important. Well, in the end it doesn't matter whether 2nd or 3rd. :P
Anyway, congratulations to Rik for the very well deserved title.
Session of Inicdent: Sprint Race
Timecode of incident: 4:05.00-5:00.00
Lap of incident (if in a race session): Lap 4
Cars involved: 27 M.Smieszek, 02 S.Riegler
Brief description of protested incident: I attempted various overtaking manoeuvres, but he blocked my way quite agressive and hectic, which is just not smart knowing that a small touch is enough to send the opponent into the barriers.
Some examples: To avoid a collision I backed off after the first corner in lap 4 when he suddenly made a move to the inside. At the end of the lap I let the door open since I saw C.Kasch was there and slightly hit the back of M.Smieszek - he countersteered, BUT then he steered again to the left which was totally unnecessary which sent me into the wall damaging my car.
Yea, I decided to back off there, as Leppänen already squeezed me once a few laps ago and made me losing several positions and I didn't want to be involved in another dangerous situation.
But okay, nice to finish the season on the podium.
Well, the FXO driver actually used a white skin and I couldn't replace it, because there was a.) no error message at the beginning of the replay saying that LFS couldn't find "..." skin and b.) I did somehow not find his skin in the skin_x folder - not even one FXO skin.
You're right with the the shadow failure. It is one of the mistakes annoying me. :/ Well, maybe it'll work next time.
Qualifying went solid, and qualified fourth with a time of exactly 45s. Although my test runs in the practise were 0.5s faster.
I had a good start in the sprintrace, and could almost get 2nd, but wasn't able to make the move stick. In the remaining laps I was hunting Dario, but he made no mistakes, so I couldn't overtake him.
Top 9 of the sprintrace, so I had to start from 7th in the mainrace. I made a good progress in the first laps, was already up to 4th - during that I was in a fight with de Jong where he lost out, but touched the barriers only with the front wing which meant he could continue driving. In lap 8, Holmes somehow squeezed passed me. One lap later the Leppänen must have seen a small spot to overtake me although I already blocked the inside line. Then I could get ahead of the 3 drivers infront of me. But the most I enjoyed that I overtook Boothy around the outside. However, could catch Niko for 2nd as well, but then lost concentration - maybe due to the tough week-end. Don't know. In the end I finished 4th.
Session of incident: Sprint race
Lap AND Timecode of incident: Lap 5 (in LFS)/14min 35s
Cars involved: 11 and 95
Brief description of incident: Car 11 managed to get one car length ahead of car 95. He braked too late, hitted my rear tyre which sent me into a spin and cost me three positions.
