Quote from dawesdust_12 :the US and UK site should have the same drivers. You said that they were different, which is absolutely retarded,.

no...the U.S ones tend to be more updated than the UK one...

Quote from HellBoy99 :Hi,

I got a 8800 GTS, 4gb ram, good mobo. Good overall ecomputer i bought 2 months ago.

I run everything on high, on 1680x1050 and i get a steady 99fps

Should i get higher?

ty, HB

try downloading a new driver off a website for your 8800GTS, the USA ones are better than the UK ones, more updated, you should get quite a high increase, what motherboard do you have, and what processor, 99fps on single player?

Quote from Stang70Fastback :I think Harjun's computer skills are actually starting to rub off on me. Yesterday I realized that my RAM (which is supposed to run at 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1V) was actually running at 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8V since the day I got it two years ago... D-OH!

what do you mean by, rub off on me?

Quote from ajp71 :I very much doubt that seeing as your selling your unnecessarily expensive computer that you didn't pay for to buy another expensive toy that you aren't going to pay for. I don't really think your serious about this given how badly you said you wanted a computer. My advice to you would be to try and get a test session somewhere in a proper kart to see if you like it.

If you do then if your lucky enough to have someone to pay the bills for running a reasonably maintained kart, being realistic no 13 year old is going to be able to pay for his own karting, then maybe go for it but realise that it's a massive commitment not something to give up straight away.

i know i like karting, i did it a year ago...i did it a week ago aswell infact, in someones JICA at RYE House, going this weekend aswell, speak to some people there...its just i got put of karting a year ago because of my accident, was pretty bad.

Quote from evilgenius :Hmm, I kinda thought this out in my head, but still, double checking
I have a 1.8ghz celeron , 768mb ram , leadtek 256mb FX5700 a360TDH I think, some semi crappy motherboard I guess... the thing is, I got a g25 as a gift.. But I cant enjoy it 100%... for instance, RBR is not an option anymore, I remeber playing rbr on HIGH with keyboard, the game stutters alot with g25 + LOW graphics... and in lfs... alone its really good, some 30, maybe 40fps, but smooth and good.. But multiplayer...with two cars , the fps is still ok in an empty server, but as more cars are in close proximity, I get fps even below 10.. sometimes even ~6... Usually, as the race starts, I try to get somewhere offroad immediatly , and then catch up gradually, the first lap in a smaller track usually never goes over 10% .. I mean, the wheel isnt that good then either, hence the reaction time... But looking at figures, my pc isnt THAT outdated or is it ? should I even bother doing some low cash upgrade, or just start saving for a new beast ? ... lil offtopic.. but it seems this is what is being discussed here..

you actually have 1Gb of RAM, its just your graphics card uses some for itself...greedy pig.

but it has the 4 stroke rotax engine? why should it be any slower...
harjun

Quote from tristancliffe :It's a kart. And it's got an engine (a 4-stroke?). But that's about it really...

It's not, however, going to be any good in a championship. Isn't it basically an arrive&drive chassis and engine with a new clutch in it?

If you just want your own kart to mess about in, then why not. If you want to compete, you'll need a bit more cash I'm afraid.

please explain to me what the difference is between that one....and a competitive kart?
