While the UFR is faster, it's also easier to flip and its clutch is tricky. If I remember correctly, the XFR's were pretty strong last year, even though they were also slower.
One question: Is it possible to know a little bit more about the way the surveying was done? Which laserscanner was used, was the camera mounted on the scanner or positioned arbitrarily, how as the data reduction done etc.?
Being a surveying engineer myself and also doing a PhD in the same area, this would be very interesting for me to know
Is it possible to put the training server back to 'practice' mode? At the moment it's set to a 5 lap race - which makes practicing full stints online a bit difficult

Update with hopefully more distinctive indication, that it is not completely an iCON team.
I was a bit slow at the beginning because of the R4 tires. I had some very nice battles thoug, especially with R. Salama (sorry again!), and K. Doughty at the end (I have no idea where I got the speed from in the last lap. I must've hit the corner perfectly. I couldn't believe my eyes when I was closing in).
Thanks guys - it was amazing and the best round in my opinion.
As usual I dropped to last place at the beginning of the race, after an unexpected bump and a failed attempt to brake. Sorry to all who bumped into me. I tried to reverse out of it but in doing so already bumped someone so I decided to stay there.
Then I destroyed my engine at the ~35 minute mark because of a mis-shift into first gear which made me lose 3 - 4 km/h on the straight and about 1 second per lap.
So it was mostly a lonely race but at least I finished
I have to get home from the drinking-location which translates into ~1 hour of hiking, 2 hours of train-voyage and another 15 minutes of walking. So depending on the time it takes me to realize, I should be heading home, I might make it - or not
I'm not quite sure if I'll make it, but I'll do the qualification anyways and hope, I'll be back from the mountain-celebration-swiss-national-holiday-hangover in time.
It was a very nice race even though I was on my own all the time. And for some reason I always encountered the slower cars in that uphill chicane. Appear somewhere else next time!
As for the commentary: I don't hear a difference between the youtube version and the ones I have here. There might be some form of normalizing going on, when you upload it to youtube. But for me, it sounds equal.
All four servers were streamed last year - one server per hour. And the first two and last two hours were commentated (or was it the first and last four hours?).
I thought I'd open this up to announce that I'll miss round 7 since it is on 1. of August which is the Swiss National Holiday, which in turn means, that I'll be somewhere in the mountains...drinking
I've upsampled the video to 1280x960 - but I'm not sure if that'll work (it's after all still 4:3 instead of 16:9). The quality is surprisingly good considering I didn't record it anew, but I've spent some more bits due to the larger resolution so it's a bit bigger (not sure if that's needed - I didn't really have the time to do a detailed analysis).
Ho hum. I've recorded everything at 1024x768. I'll try to upscale it with AviSynth to the next near mod16 4:3 resolution. Out of curiosity: What happens when you just upload the MP4? I have a faint memory that youtube now actually plays MP4's.
