Quote from andRo. :iFast, nice work. But I think you should take the spoiler away, then it looks better. Or not so big, as you already said.

I think I'll do something like this: http://www.ssip.net/upload/aston-martin-dbr9-rear-3_134.jpg or at least something similar

Oh god... I really want to appreciate for very immature behaviour of few my team members, I hope that it won't repeat in future. Also I would like to say sorry for any accidents that we did in track. Anyways, good luck SRLT and peace everyone... really.... (I feel like father, whose kids got into trouble)

Quote from Aid :i will try them thanks... lately i used mray because of speed but yeah it's easier to achieve nice results with vray imo...problem is render times, to get rid of noise it need a lot of subdivisions so i put it off for a minute. it's great for studio lightning and has great support for area lights. i use simple scene here fox006. i will have to come back to vray but i need to invest in i7 first i think

I think there's no need to have ultra powerful pc to use vray, I have C2D 2Ghz with 2gb ram and I get reasonable render times, for example, to render HD resolution simple LFS car scene takes about 5minutes, but if I add DOF, reflective floor effects it may extend to 15min and even that is a good render time.

Quote from Aid :3ds max 2009 and mental ray and vray i disslike brazil i did some rendering in the past so i'm re-lerning it all, i forgot everything i knew

try using these settings for vray: http://www.aversis.be/tutorial ... basic_render_settings.htm it should give better effect

Quote from Aid :yeah i agree about studio lights however it's still not that simple, anyway i bodge it and use primitive base scene with hdri environment over car and plane so yeah it's not optimal... maybe 1 day i will have to sit on it

What program and what renderer you use?

Quote from Aid :well yes i did turn disc rims wheels and calliper on left wheel looks like i missed disc brake on right nice spoted

btw check refs on average car... unless you have 2mm layer of dust and mud on car it's very reflective, also lfs models are not detailed enough to make them look realistic.. yeah it's nightmare
http://eahart.com/prius/ShinyCar.jpg

Well yes, car must have reflections, but it must have it when it's outside, not when it's in studio. Take a look here: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=59031 reflections should be "soft", and to reach them use soft lightning( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_light )

I think your renders has too much reflections, with less of them it would look nicer, and also when you rotate your wheel, don't forget to rotate brake rotor and caliper, because this time I see that you forgot

Quote from e2mustang :i know what motion blur is,but they were talkin about glossy floor reflections, that why i gave the file, many ppl could use it.

Should have quoted, that was for andRo.

That's not motion blur, that's type or reflective floor.
Motion blur is blur which is caused by moving objects, like this: http://www.ipix.lt/images/96176227.png
Everything is blurry because car is moving

Quote from silline15 :I just noticed that you can see helmet skins but no suit & glove skins in LFS Viewer

Because there's no suit and glove skins, you can change their apperance just by changing .DDS files, but this changa will be visible only for you.

Feel sorry to tell you, but it looks that you've just missed the train

Quote from mickyc30 :Hey guys,

I'm doing a year 12 assignment for graphic design currently, and was wondering someone could please render my car design skin.
  • Could the render(s) please be in 1680x1050
  • Possibly more than 1 if you feel generous
  • Professional looking scene, studio lighting kind of thing (I liked iFastLT's render)
  • If you feel generous could you please do multiple renders of differant angles of the car?
  • A darkish scene, soft lighting
  • This may be a big ask, but could the person who does the render please take a screenshot of the scene before the render, then a screenshot of the render process? This is to show how it is done
  • Most importantly the render(s) need to be complete by tomorrow night, Wednesday 4/10/2009 (AEDT)
I would be very, very grateful for whoever completes this for me, it is an essential part of my final outcome for the year in graphics, without this I will not pass.

Thanks,
Michael

Could do that aswell
