The AAL is pleased to announce its 2nd series for 2008, the "Clubman Superlight 5"

A huge thanks to KNAPPO for the amazing series logo!

So it is time to open the roof and go clubman racing with 5 rounds around the best clubman tracks LFS has to offer!!
The LX4 being the "Superlight Clubman" around these tracks and using the sprint race format is bound to produce some action packed racing.
This series also sees a new & unique idea of using both directions of the same track in a single round. Round 3 at the Aston Club track will see Race 1 using the forward direction while Race 2 will use the reverse direction of the circuit to spice things up for all racers.

Series Schedule
Series Name: Clubman Superlight 5
Car: LX4
Round Formats: 2 x Sprint Races

Round 1
Date : 23rd April 2008
Track : Blackwood Reverse
Format: 2 x 22 Laps, Reverse Grid 2nd Race

Round 5
Date : 18th June 2008
Track : Fern Bay Gold
Format: 2 x 20 Laps, Rev Grid 2nd race

- Registrations will be via the AAL website (Opening Soon)
- Hotlap qualification system to be used to determine divisions. Note: Round 3 will use the Aston Club Normal Direction (AS2) for HLVC Entry.

> All races to be standing start.

So we hope to see you with the wind in your hair!!

Grandstands - Empty/Full
J_luo88
S2 licensed
Did a search of "Grandstand" in this section and nothing of interest came up, looked at suggested improvements log and found it not mentioned there. Although i'm pretty sure this has been mentioned somewhere, i can't find it :S

Anyway, what i suggest is that the grandstands should be filled in all of the track enviroments. It just makes LFS a more polished sim and in addition, as a driver, enables you to be more immersed in the driving experience. Not sure how much effort it would take to fill these grandstands, but just take those men who surround the BL2 track behind the fence, and make them take on a sit position shouldn't be too hard should it?

So, to further elaborate on this idea, i've broken it down into how much the grandstands should be filled depending on what kind of race it is.
Practice - Empty, noone in the grandstands.
1-5 lap race - About 25% full?
6-10 lap race - About 50% full?
11-20 lap race - About 75% full?
21+ lap race - 100% full?

Of course, instead of having it as the number of laps, it could also be determined by how long the race is expected to last for.

My understanding of how the BOTN is going to work is that we want allt he nations into one server preferably. This is the distinction between BOTN and Nations Cup.

I would think this would work better (to group) but then again, there won't be that many racers in the American timezone and there won't be many in the AustralAsian timezone either.

Quote from chanoman315 :we prefer something like 20 UTC, cuz 10 UTC here in america is like 4 hours less than in Europe , imagine waking up at 6am to race ? would be weird, it would be easy to race in the afternoon ... 4pm -5pm .... son you race in the night (europe) or make the groups by the time zone, to be available each nation to participate okay ..

Yeah, it would be weird racing at 6am, but the matter of the fact is, some country will have to. If you have it at 20UTC, it'll be all those nations in the Oceania Timezone who will have to wake up early and race.

Please be considerate of other countries than your own.

I think what Arrow's done is good with setting the starting time different each round which means that one or a number of countries have to wake up constantly at 6am to race.

Head over to A.R.S.E where our official AAL forum and you'll probably get more of a response from the other racers that you'll be racing against. It is also where most of the Aussie and NZ LFS racers live.

GTR.2007 Series

Huge thanks to KNAPPO for once again supplying the series logo

Let's get ready to rumble!

The GTR's.......... are back!

The AAL team is proud to announce the return of the GTR's in 2007!

This year sees the AAL return to its endurance day roots with all rounds (except for round 3) to be 2 hour timed events. Now with Global Balancing in place, gone are the days of a full field of FZR, but racers must carefully select their car and fuel strategies! This will bring back the strategic side of racing which was missing in the 2006 series.

The race schedule is as follows:
  • Round 1 (Aug 22) - Blackwood Rev
  • Round 2 (Sep 05) - KY GP Long
  • Round 3 (Sep 19) - South City Town Rev (Sprint) 2x30 laps
  • Round 4 (Oct 03) - Aston GT
  • Round 5 (Oct 17) - Fern Bay Black Rev
Please note:
All rounds will be a standing start.

Car choice is up to the individual racer (XRR, FXR, FZR) - BUT you must stick with the one vehicle for the duration of the series.

Points will be awarded as per previous rounds and registration will be via the AAL Website.
Divisions will be sorted via the WR% used in the past.

So buckle up, strap on that helmet and head out on the track!

See you out there

Just to add onto this thread instead of creating a new one. When racing the RA, and using a digital speedo, when you reach speeds of above 200km/h, you're unable to read to the '2' digit. Maybe the dial (the round thingo) needs to be a bit bigger?

Quote from Slopi :Nice to see I can't compete based on my nationality....

LFS... bringing the world... apart?

LOL, well that's not really the case. Can't really blame LFS for that rather just the nature of the earth... and the sun...

Our reasons for having this league only for those within the AustralAsian region is twofold. Firstly it's because of timezones. We race at night our time, which is (GMT+10) and i'm sure most ppl in europe are having lunch or at work and people in America are sleeping or have have just woken up. The second reason is ping rates. We all don't like lag and by restricting those who enter to basically the country the league is run and the nearby surround countries, lag is minimised which makes for better racing.

Heya Boosted =] Still SO'ing i see

Thanks for all the help. From the observations that i've had, it seems like the wind does change directions but only slighty, and as does the wind speed, but again only slightly. Seems to affect the open wheelers a lot or anything with downforce settings. =]
