I can't claim to know him, but RIP all the same.

Was it racing-related, or something else?

Quote from logitekg25 :in person it must not be too bad because everyone i ask says it looks 'professional' whatever that means..

Please don't take this the wrong way, but anyone who says that looks "professional" has obviously never seen a professional install...

Are those amps even screwed down...?

(I know you said "they don't move" but thats not quite the same...)

I really hope those amps are screwed down... and you might want to do something with those cables, specifically the power cable that looks like it's under tension!

Otherwise - looks good

Can anyone give me a lowdown on brake fluid, please?

Got some DOT4 in atm, going to be swapping the lines over so will need to top it up anyway.

Do I want DOT4 or DOT5.1? (ruling out 3 as it's old and 5 as it's not compatible)

Any particular good brands?

Don't mind spending some £ for the "good stuff"

TBH I don't work the brakes hard, i.e. I don't think I've ever had the current fluid boil.

Quote from Bose321 :Do you also use an optical cable?

Optical passes the raw data (1's & 0's) to the speakers, which will then use the onboard DAC's to convert that into frequencies for the speakers.

I would imagine the DAC's in the Z5500's are better than your onboard sound card, but a decent sound card will be much better. However you'll need to connect it up by something analogue (i.e. 3.5mm) to actually let your soundcard do the work.

On poorer speakers (Logitech X540's) I definitely noticed the difference between onboard sound & my Creative X-Fi.

Not being able to select 5.1 etc is probably a driver issue - the Z5500 can only work with the data coming in...

Quote from e2mustang :why would it be loud ? he still have a muffler. when i did decat on mine, there was no difference in loudness.when u combine that with a nice muffler than it gets loud !

Mine was (slightly) louder with a decat as theres something no longer in the way that was quietening it down.

Quote from FPVaaron :Not if excuted properly, ramming some one off the road is bad form, If some one is clearly being a stubbon prick and slowing down your race I don't see any issue with running them wide to get passed.

Surely the sign of a "good racer" is someone who can have a slower laptime but still be in front?

You win based on your position at the end of the race, not based on the quickest lap...

Personally (without contact) I think you should be able to block as much as you like - if the racer behind you really is quicker they will have no problem getting past you.

Quote from bmwe30m3 :Jakg, nothing that duct tape and markers can't fix
About the light, a random reflector should do it.

Not fix, "bodge"... I don't want it bodged, I want it how it was last week!

Really annoyed someones obviously reversed into my car and then just ****ed off, leaving me to foot the bill!

EDIT - And now the cheapest second hand bumper I can find in the right colour is nearly £200 >.>

Quote from Flame CZE :I didn't write that the forum accounts were banned. He even does not have a forum account. It's the LFS in-game access he was banned from.

Since when was having more than one in-game account against the rules?

Since when could forum mods ban in-game accounts?

Quote from E.Reiljans :ATCS 840 is tiny compared to Silverstone TJ11.

*googles*

Ooooh, I like

*checks price*

WTF! £475 for a case!

EDIT - Thats £50 more than I sold my old car for!

Quote from Flame CZE :I've informed the devs and all the duplicate accounts should be banned now

Having multiple forum accounts isn't allowed, but I wasn't aware there was anything wrong with having multiple LFS account...

Certainly don't think it's fair to ban a forum account based on what happens in game!

In terms of size, ACTS 840 > All.

I think I posted a picture of it earlier in this thread... massive

Not really helpful - but I use an old oak dining table. Massive, and awesome.

Fancy mounts are an easy solution though - you can pick up some desk edge VESA mounts like these...

For not that much - you can mount it to the desk, but have it "floating" off the side of the desk.

It also means you get the WHOLE desk to use, rather than most of it with the mounts in the way.

Quote from e2mustang :but unfortunetly i cant bring it with me

You could bring it with you... (although the cost would be prohibitive, probably).

When Viper93 moved to the UK (from the US) he brought his SRT4 with him...

Quote from BlueFlame :which automatically makes all TDi's sleepers.

You've lost it.
Quote from BlueFlame :The fact you people seem to see an A4 as an ordinary/mediocre car is EXACTLY the reason why it's a sleeper because it will catch you napping. Hence the term.

Except, it IS an "ordinary/mediocre car"!

Quote from BlueFlame :any ratty German car is a sleeper, because it will have exactly the same performance as when was new.

Except, it wont.

I wouldn't call standard 1.8 Audi a "sleeper"...

Quote from Bose321 :This has nothing to do with graphics nor physics. It has to do with the rate of which the input device can... well, input.

However I doubt it's noticeable, if there's any difference at all.

Why would more FPS = more input? Especially when talking about 60 vs 90FPS?

Quote from Whiskey :But as always, one should bear in mind that more FPS means more precise FFB and inputs to the game, even though the frames are not displayed in the screen.

I don't think it does - the graphics and physics are totally separate systems.
