If you've got a good set you can be pretty agressive in the XFG... What you saw in that video was not a good setup. With loadsa-curb, the chicane is an easy flat out, without too much drama.

All the cars with the updated interior (XFG, XRG, XRT (I think also XFR/XRR too) do not support these wheels. The reason is that the wheel was changed in Patch Z, and the steering wheel texture is now just one small square of repeating texture.

The only cars that support those textures are the cars that still have the old Cromo wheel - UF1, FXO, RB4, LX6, LX4, RAC, FZ5, FXR, FZR and MRT.

Quote from Mp3 Astra :I love Volvos.

I do like a Volvo...

I keep banging on about it, but the S80 V8 is just a machine. I mainly like it because of the number of toys (on the top spec models).. (or safety features) it has - Collision warning with Auto brake, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, Blind spot information system... FUN !

As well as all that it is a beast in the snow... it literally ploughs through anything. You can put your foot to the floor in the snow and it has no trouble propelling you forwards at a rate of knots and in a dead straight line. It's probably not that fun to drive when the snow melts away, but it does make a nice noise (for a Volvo, at least) :P

And the top of the range executive model has a fridge in the back.. What more could you want?

Can I just add... All information about practice sessions will appear under the Kyoto 250 News section of the NDR Website.

Practice sessions will NOT appear on the front page like other news, because there will be so many that they just clog up the page with stuff that isn't really news

LFS Photomode Competition: Boring Graphs and Statistics Thread
JO53PHS

So a few rounds back I saw that Flame CZE said he was gonna do stuff with statistics for the Photomode competition. I dunno what happened to that, but I decided to make my own stuff

So I made a jumbo spreadsheet that will act as a sort of new hall of fame. I don't have time to make and update a fancy one

Then I messed around with the contents of the spreadsheet and made some fun (yes, they really are!) graphs. Apologies to those with low resolution monitors whose LFS forum may get broken by these ():

Note 1: Peak number of entrants was Round 36: World Rally Championship
Note 2: Lowest number of entrants was Round 28: V1 in LFS
Note 3: Average number of entrants is 9.68

Note 1: We all got owned by JJ72
Note 2: Graphs of Top 2nd/3rd places might be produced at a later date, if I can be bothered
Note 3: I excluded those with only 1 win, since there were too many to make a graph that didn't look silly.

Note 1: I just wanted an excuse to eat a pie

I'm such a boring old git

Quote from danowat :Every unaccompanied test drive i've done, i've just been given a "trade plate" to stick on the dashboard, this means you are covered under the traders policy.

Yes - the trade plate acts as your tax and insurance (and also numberplates if they're not fitted). How we do it is that the trade plate is on the motor insurance database, so that covers whatever car the trade plate is put in/on.

The trade plate HAS to be displayed, of course. Most police officers won't be too keen to let you off if it's in the car but not on show.

Quote from Crashgate3 :Ah right, so you only really need it if they let you take it out on your own?

That would be a sensible assumption. Although most smaller garages probably wouldn't let you take it out on their own. I'm not a motor trade insurance broker, but the insurance most likely costs more depending on the amount of risk that the dealer takes when doing test drives. In other words, there's quite a high chance of it being nicked if you let the customer take it out on their own.

I think only main agent garages would allow you to test drive it alone anyway, especially with all the various 24 hour test drive things that I've seen advertised.

I think most motor traders will have insurance for test drives on their motor trade insurance policy. Or at least my dad does...

You could just check with the dealer first what the arrangements are... or something?

Quote from jibber :Regardless of the risks involved (hurting somebody, crashing the car, etc), you certainly don't seem to care about the poor guy who will buy the car from the dealer someday... the same car that you "beat to hell" on your testrive before. :thumbsdow

Stuff (sort of) like this really annoys me...

My dad sells used cars. Some people come along to have a look at a car. They climb all over it, get mud and dirt all up the interior, and then thrash the nuts off it on a test drive. After about 4 hours of wasting your time with them, they tell you're that they're 'thinking about it' and then don't even bother to phone you back. You're left with half the day wasted and a car that needs about an hour of cleaning done again.

Rx7 for 2000? Think he forgot the 1 infront of the 2000? I live in the US, but I would buy that in a second for up to 10000 dollars.

That's about it's worth to be honest, once you factor in the cowboy modifications.

There's a 1998 with 80,000 miles on Autotrader for £3995. So consider it's 4 years older, has 40,000 more miles and has likely had some bodging done to it, and you get to this price.

Normally, you're not allowed to use OLD screenshots that you made BEFORE the opening of the competition.

I've since changed the rules for THIS WEEK ONLY, and you may use old screenshots. However, all edits to these screenshots must still have been done within the entry period.

Quote from Bob Smith :Funny, I've always much preferred the look of the saloon Focus to the hatch. Hate the MPV look read end.

Maybe Focus saloons are starting to grow on me. When I first saw an MK1 Focus saloon I thought it was the ugliest car ever made. I was never particularly keen on the hatchback either, but since we've owned one for about a year now, you sorta get used to it
