Crashing needs to become painful to the point where it becomes feared. Whether that means no warping to the pits, no restarting, no rejoing a race in progress, reduced repair ability in the pits, etc. The only way people will start to drive within their abilities and not constantly pushing the very edge is to make exceeding that edge have potentialy hard penalties. People right now are always trying to attack every corner, braking zone, passing oppertunity etc, with no room for error. This is what leads to most of the wrecks and restart requests.

So until the devs can make it more painful its up to us to do so and we have few tools to accomplish this with. The only way I can see to address this now is to setup some servers in the comunity that do not allow restarts, mid race joinging and are runnng long races. Its either that or we will have to just deal with the restarts and the first corner = win mentality that exists in almost all short races.

I bought motorcycle last year summer vacation and have to agree with you that there is no better transportation then bike. Unfortunately my breaks all the time. Sometimes I cant shift one of two gears and I dont have front brake. But who cares the ride is still very pleasents. Once I went off roading with my brother (He was on a bikecycle and I was on my rig.) Everything was ok until the chain fell off. Ok no problem my brother rode homeand brought some tools. We fixed it quickly and started riding again and guess what. My gearbox broke. When we came back home from our great trip we opened the gearbox. Some metal things fell on the ground but my brother put back one iron ball and everything was working again. Yeah right it worked. I was able to ride hour but then it was breaking. I am suppose to get good motorcycle this year but I wouldnt be happy too soon since my father is really against motorcycle. Dont know why. All I hear is this stupid saying: You will break your bones. If I ride carefully nothing will happen to me. My mom is saying yes then no then yes but it has to be as slow as this one (40 km) and blah blah blah. I hope I will finally get better motorcycle.

My advice is to drive with one car and on few tracks with that car if you want to be competitive. Those maniacs play with one car all time and they are masters with them. Remeber that in every server there at least one or two maniacs. I am driving FOX for two months straight as much as I can, and Im very good but still Im not in top three sometimes because there are those people. But anyway buy license. You wont be dissapointed. It is even so much fun to learn to drive those powerful monsters.

Thanks for the extra tips Funnybear, all of which make sense. Im still trying to get used to this mouse business, but it seems ok, i can keep up with most wheel drivers so i guess for now it isnt an issue just a little twitchy at times with the XR Turbo If i still require pointers, you'll be the first to know!

As to janm's post, i have the same problem, back straight i seem to lose them, but im told its all exit speed, so im working hard as hell to get round the first bend at a good pace, and yeah a good gear ratio is needed.

My aim now is to hit every corner at atleast 71MPH!illepall

I love GT Legends too. Yes I agree that with real tracks and real cars the game feels much much better. (Im not saying that LFS is bad but I really like GT Legends more for this period of time.

I just remined myself of this years summer vacation. Ok so heres my story: Me and my brother bought Fiat126 P and took it on a little off road journey.(You might question yourself 28 horse power and off road? But yes it is possible.) So when my brother let me drive, I started showing off. First I went 40 KM on the road with holes and rocks and everything went fine until I got stuck in one place. It was a situation in which I wasnt able to do anything with my lack of experience. If I left the brake I would go down a little hill and got stuck for good and since the handbrake didnt work (Nothing new in Polish old cars.) I had to manuevere really quickly with my legs. Finally I took my leg off the brake, added full throtle and realesed the clutch. My Fiat 126 P is coughing and dying but but hey im reversing. I was so excited that I managed to move this rusty piece of junk forgot about everything until I heard some BANG!!! Guess what I hit a tree with my left mirror. The most funny thing is that it didnt even break. With my hand I bended the mirror other way and everything was ok.

I will post my pictures soon if I can find some. So far Im with no results.
