Many people allready increased the original skid soundlevel from 2.0 to 3.0

The new sounds are best at the original 2.0!

Also try different cars...

Sound quality is not as good as in game, especially noticable with the heavy skids, Even when other sounds seem fine!, because of high gain.

The sound has a lot more detail ingame. Skid sound is also different with each car!

(Note; I wasn't showing my driving or drifting skills. Just trying to give an indication of the sounds) LOL

I don't like this sound.

I'm using a set of sounds, combination of Disposable's and Jenek's skid sounds.

(Both found here)

I have combined them for you all. With these sounds you can hear the difference between light and heavy skid better!

They make driving much more fun and also improve your skills! (also drifting is fun now)

(put them in /LFS/data/snd/)

You are right but in practice gear does dicide the available power at that speed. Gear selects the amount of revs and revs decide the amount of available power!

Lets say at a certain speed third gear gives you 2000rpm with 80ps and second gives 3500rpm with 150ps. It would be better to be in second approaching a trafficlight.

Edited in quite a few ways but didnt want to overdo it. (also I'm no photoshop expert)

For safety you should allways be in the gear with maximum power.

Especially going through a bend in neutral is just the stupidest thing ever. You're never going to pass your exam like that. (never give advise if your not sure)

Maybe for Americans a manual is some increadibly complicated thing but it's nothing special.
