I really am not sure. I am just doing it to enhance my skills and just have a good time. My intention with this model is to produce realistic renders - maybe make some nice wallpapers.

Yo thanks. Can you take the pic again, except this time at lower position so I could see how it meets the floor? Oh and would be great to see how the front seat belts attach to the car.

New pic from me:

Low res render, I'll do a bigger one once I get more stuff out of the way. I hope you like the hat

A Nissan 350z might be a suitable choice. It has simple curves that flow nicely, plus I think it would be an interesting project to do.

Is that the only thing you are concerned with? lol. Do you just want the count of the door without smoothing?

On all my renders it shows the number at the very bottom. With smoothing it is 176182.

I hope this is more eye pleasing, lol.

I think it is manual, but in the condition that car is in it may have a mechanical problem :P

Anyway not much done today, just some small stuff. I also did the rear defroster on the window but I'll unhide that once I get more done.

Okay, well the only thing I need working from you is your camera, lol

hehe

Well, I am too lazy to make a set of sport evolution seats so I will just continue with my current ones. I just need refs for the rear, so e2mustang :P:P

Also need pics of the door T from the inside, and also the ceiling on the interior, especially the rear half. Thanks!

Quote from Crashgate3 :or do you create the basic shape from simple polys, then refine them into the complex shapes?

This is what I do. First simple shape, then add details.

Thanks!

I did the light switch thingy. Next step it to map the whole dash board and then apply materials to it. I'll continue later.

Thanks e2mustang!

@Crashgate3: There are plenty of places where you could get free hdri at decent resolutions if you look on google. I just found two great site in a mere 10 seconds: http://www.hdrimaps.com/downloads.html and http://www.aversis.be/extra_hdri/room_day.htm though the second site's hdri would be more suitable for indoor objects.

I myself purchased Dosch hdri extreme hires (http://www.doschdesign.com/pro ... ri/Extreme_Hires_DVD.html) Good investment imo.

I'm also thinking about getting this one:

The curvature of the bumper is not yet perfect. And a little tip: try and get the whole shell of the car done before applying materials to it. I find it better to focus on one thing at a time so that you can get more geometry done :P

I'm just glad to see more 3d models here being made by the community

That isn't a picture, it is a hdri which is my quick solution to good lighting. The reason why you see the hdri in the background is because I didn't put anything behind my model to cover it (lazy at the time). On my latest renders you can see a white background - that is a simple plane with a white material just to cover it the hdri.
