It's with great excitement to announce what is renound as the favourite TBO championship in LFS. The Stock Cup!
Originally, The Clean Racers Club Stock Cup consisted of only FXO's, with the first champion ("no_one") being crowned back in 2006.
In 2007 Ready 4 Racing took the reigns and a fierce battle began between XRT's and RB4's with "Leprekaun" taking the 07 title.
Still run by the same old chap (Kringle), it returns with Peregrinus for 2008.
This year each team will have to use 1x FXO, 1x RB4 and 1x XRT in a championship consisting of 6 rounds ranging from AS National to South City Classic Reversed!
To fit around GFC & IGTC, each round will take approximately 1hr 30minutes, and will be run on Saturdays from 8pm.
So if you fancy getting into the toughest TBO championship of the year, click on the Stock Cup banner above this article, get yourself into a fictional team and get signed up! http://www.peregrinus.co.uk/
Could I have the R4R Events turned into Peregrinus Events please?
Also the event website needs to change from r4r.swemike.com to http://www.peregrinus.co.uk
Also would it be possible to delete "FBM Enduro" and the threads in the stock cup section? As I need to make space for 2008.
Sorry for the vast quantity of requests. I'm sure you've got pleanty of other things to be getting on with.
Ta
If you head to the peregrius website you'll see it's firmly in place to begin. First round is 3rd of march and i'm unveiling it to the rest of the lfs community this afternoon. (gave priority to last years competitors).
Edit: And yes it's now into its 3rd season (1st season was run by CRC)
Blimey, can't believe I've been playing LFS all this time and haven't come across this!
LFS always has another nifty trick up its sleeve when you least expect it.
They're not so much as milking the cash cow, as ringing it dry.
There's absolutely no mention of any improvements inside the wheel, just the novelty buttons they've given it. When will people wake up and realise This Will Not Do!
To add to the helpfulness of it i'll let you know that the world record is a 1:22.88.
1:25.5 on a Race_S setup is pretty handy considering you are new to LFS!
Find yourself a nice setup and i'm sure you could bring that time down. By how much? No idea
I like the quality of this thread, so i'll comment.
Having Scavier selecting the best tracks would be a good idea indeed! Maybe have only one 3rd party track on lfs per month? So you don't end up with loads of tracks that someone has to download. They allow a new track to be used for one month only?
And if there is no worthy tracks in a particular month, they can re-use a previously submitted one. (Making it more worthwhile for the creators of these 3rd party tracks)
Back on the subject of declining racers. I haven't noticed the decline personally, I had a six month break from LFS last year, and was stunned by the huge amount of servers that were being used at any one time.
I remember when there was only 20 populated. I've seen 120 of late!
Wow you've been here since August 2006, but only done 70 races?
@Azk13
I liked your replay, was better than I expected. Very controlled. Is that from doing many laps on that combo or are you like that in most combo's?
Seemed a little wary of the brake, coasting a lot before corners. Something I always had /have trouble with.
No no no........ My current motherboard is an ABIT SG-80DC.
And I was looking at buying the Asus P5ND2-SLI, but it has been discontinued, i.e...... no longer exists.
So now my attention has turned to a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3.
