I can add that it is very good with the G25 once it's set up properly, each car feels like it has its own style to drive it - best example would be the Sierra RS500 vs the Escort Cosworth - The RS500 is a pain to drive but really rewarding when you get it right, where as the Cossie is much easier to drive, but to drive it fast does take some effort.
Graphics look pretty good on PC even on my modest system (C2D E8200, 6GB DDR2 RAM, GTX260) and it runs very smooth even on high settings.
There's a mod out for PC that alters the lighting to be more realistic and another that lets you reduce the grip to the value you want - I'll give them both a go tonight.
So far though - I'm having massive fun with this semi-sim. Gymkhana is awesome!
Remember "up to 8 hours battery" is in ideal conditions - Screen so dim you can't see it, wifi and all other wireless gubbins turned off, no CPU+GPU intensive programs running.
Why can't you take a charger to uni with you? They're not too much extra weight to carry and if your uni is anything like the one I go to there's always sockets you can steal some electricity from.
That I was, more because he was right up my arse and I was watching where he was and a lot more-so the road ahead as far as I could in case I needed to brake more than anything - I don't speed normally because; 1. I can't afford the petrol doing it and 2. I can't afford the points on my license!
I'm sure you've been there/done that before.
After today it's Nottingham's taxi drivers I have a thing against now! Had 2 nearly plough into the side of me as they reached a give way junction.
Actually that's not quite true from my experience.
Many times I've joined a motorway behind an elderly person and they join a carriageway with 56mph lorries going down it at under 30mph.
I quite often find that young people are more sensible - join at the right speed, then maybe they go too fast, but they're nothing on middle-aged Audi and BMW (increasingly VW too) drivers who just drive like dickheads.
Just last week I nearly had an Audi driver in the back of me as he tailgated me - I was doing 75mph overtaking and there was a wagon pulling out infront of me to overtake another - I hit the brakes, not hard, he wasn't paying attention and must have been so close to the back of my car, yet gave me a massive flash of lights and horn.
And it's not the first time that's happened!
My point is, young drivers get hit incredibly hard and extremely unfairly for insurance, I'm 23 now with 6 years claim free and point free driving experience, yet my insurance was still £700 at last renewal on a 1.6l Focus. If the above person hit the back of my car I bet his insurance renewal would still be a lot cheaper than £700 at next renewal.
A Sainsburys filling station £3 car wash after several birds decided to do their business all over my car.
Credit where credit is due, Sainsburys do a very good car wash!
Normally do bucket and sponge but I live in a block of flats now with underground car park where there's no drainage... I would move it onto the street and do it, but I am in Nottingham City Centre and will get a parking ticket.
They should have put Maemo on it like the N900. 9 months on with the N900, still loving it - I usually get bored of phones by 6 months, can't see the N900 heading that way. Mozilla released Firefox 4 for it, so got that synced with my PC Firefox - all bookmarks from PC on my phone
I'm nearly 23 with not a single claim on insurance and 0 points since I passed my test at 17 (apart from a window that got blown out by demisters + same window when car got broken into inside a secure car park), yet for a 1.6l Ford Focus on an 03 plate I'm still paying £790 for insurance despite 3 years NCB (had 2 years as named driver which got me 0 NCB), just because I'm classed as a 'young driver' who they think is going to stick the car into a tree at every opportunity.
If it wasn't for young twats thinking they're F1 champions and who drove a car like they should (ie. not sticking it into a tree/ditch/whatever) then I'd hazard a guess that my insurance would be HALF the price that it is. I have zero sympathy at all for anybody who crashes their car by driving like a tit.
Nah Toyota Yaris My mum's car, but I was named driver. The rear fog light switch goes off when you turn the headlights off, but the front one you have to turn off yourself. (odd, I know!) Was when it was dark too so had headlights on which = front fogs if you forget to turn them off.
Thankfully, I'm a Yaris driver no longer and have been a Ford Focus driver for the last 3 1/2 years!
My friends tell me I drive like an old man... Which I usually do, I'll only put my foot down and have a bit of fun when I can see MILES ahead - even then I won't break the speed limit or go to the limit of grip. Simply because if I crash/get points I can't afford to insure the car - I'd much rather have the money saved by having a clean license and NCB to spend on other things. Infact since passing my test nearly 6 years ago I've only been pulled over once and that was because I didn't realise I had fog lights on (was foggy the previous night when I drove and front ones were left on by accident)
Agreeed! How TV Ruined Your Life was brilliant, Newswipe and Screenwipe were hilarious! He's got a very opinionated, funny and correct view on the world that the majority of people can agree with!
CoolColJ's B-spec drivers always finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the remote races I do.
edit: also need some more people to vary my remote b-spec races a bit, I'm running 4 drivers from some people in remote races! I hate it that you can run loads of other people's b-spec drivers but only 1 of your own... Just seems a bit pointless.
Brilliant game of football, one of the best cup finals I've seen in recent years. Birmingham deserved it... The 3 ex-Newcastle players played their part - hopefully it's good omens and means Newcastle get it next season.
I hadn't played GT5 for nearly a month, however went on it yesterday and got re-addicted! The new patch is very good, puts GT5 to where it should have been at release!
Also finally managed to reach level 30, the X2010 is insane! Got bronze on Nurburgring and Monza but keep hitting the grass and failing on Suzuka. I have no idea how to reach the gold time! :|
I can lay down a claim that I beat him to win a race on raw pace once in the 10 races he did. (I did practice all week and it was at my strongest track (Thruxton)).
Anyway, back on-topic... I really hope Bahrain goes ahead, because for the first time in a long time I'm looking forward to this season starting!
I've raced him many times (through 2 seasons of RACE07 championships I organise) and he's bloody quick on sims - he's also much more of a real person than his brother too, be interesting to see how he handles the real thing!
Is there anybody having screen flickering on PC version of this game? Happens to me in full screen and windowed mode and only on TDU2 - played GTA IV for a long time last night without a single flicker, so it's not my hardware.
Well, I've completely changed my opinion of this game, I had a play today and got really into it! I tried it with the G25 instead of gamepad I was using and used the settings from adamlfs (from post quoted below) and it's much more drivable - it does still snap sometimes, but it can be just about controlled!
I'm quite disappointed by it - was looking forward to something just to have fun on (wasn't bothered by physics), using the gamepad I got the Mustang as my first car and it's very frustrating with the on/off accelerate/brake, soon as the car starts to slide you've lost it due to lack of throttle control, they NEED to fix that bug straight away.
