Well... You could just use the air-thing sound, that just goes whooosh now. Find a whine-sound and try it out. It gets louder as you step on the pedal, not sure about following the rpm's though.

Dont supercharge any of the original cars - but build an americanish car, with a v8, and supercharge that instead. Make a lousy wobbly standard-set, and i would be happy.

And a dieseltruck... My god!
Where can i find older lfs releases?

I'm at school, and the harddrivespace we've got for each of us isnt bigger than 100mb per man. I use some 20 megs on random schoolstuff, so i have a bit left.

Then i remembered that the older lfs versions only used to be about 40-60 megs. Where can i find one of those?

Sincerly

ans7812 - its called flatshifting. Problem with lfs is, that most drivers usually dont control the clutch theirselves, with causes the rev's to rise too much. If i flatshift, both in lfs and irl (got a turbocar too), i lift of just a bit, so the revs really dont rise. It sounds stupid to do that full-throttle flatshifting. What you loose just "holding" the revs vs what you gain with rising revs - the difference is minimal.

Most fully programmable enginemanagements have today a feature called flatshift, designed for turbocars. You just keep the gas floored, and then when you depress the clutch, the management knows, and enters "turbo anti-lag mode" while keeping the revs up.

Check this vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHuUfSPbhko
(Its not called "launch control", it's just very misunderstood. It's antilag)

Yup. Decided to read a bit about it on the net, and found out, that you should not use the highest aperture size, 128 at max, and atleast 32, so i went along with 64. Its because new graphiccards today have so much memory, that it dont need more, it can actually just make it slower.

I've seen as high as 125 fps sometimes now, this is great

Thanks to everybody for their tips and tricks, really helped alot.

My problem has mysteriously disappeared.

Things i have done:
Reset bios
AGP Aperture size 64 mb
Fastwrite disabled
Reinstalled mobo drivers in xp

When my radeon card was at 50~60 fps before, this is now 70-80, but at hard load, for example 9 cars in front of my, it drops to 25, where the old only went down to ~30-35.

Our routers is locked by internet provider, and his internet comes through cabel-tv, and mine through the phone-wire, which now is broadband-use only. The router has a telephone connection, that we use as a regular phone.

If driver-cleaner does what it sounds to do, then i'm not interested. It's a fresh XP SP 2 install, with standard windows vga-drivers when i installed the geforce-driver.

I really haven't played other games, i'm not that much of a gamer.

I just dont see, how the reset bios thing would make my graphic go better?

And i cant enable HVS in LFS, i only have one advanced graphic option.

XP was fresh install, and then installed the nvidia drivers, so that should also be fine.

No, my friend and i have each our licenses. It's just so, that if i make an internetgame, hidden or not, or he does, we cant access each others computers, because of each our internetproviders firewalls.

We can tell it to join the "for example" game, it just wont connect both ways. So we thought hamachi would solve this problem, connecting peer to peer - through a hamachi server.

I cant unlock my firewall, i've tried. So has my friend (built in, in routers, locked by providers)
From Ati radeon 9600 to gforce 7600gs, low fps
neRu
S3 licensed
I've just installed my gforce 7600gs, and reinstalled my computer. Now lfs runs with less fps than before, averaging 20, making it unplayable.

I have the newest forceware drivers, and all settings are tried both high and low, making no difference except for look of game.

In lfs, trees, sky, rubber and shadows are off, res 1280x1024@75hz.

Before i did have rubber and shadows, and could run about 50-60 fps at same res.

3ghz p4 HT
1gig ddr
gforce 7600gs 256mb ddr
Win XP SP2 fresh install, all drivers fully updated. (DX 9.0c)

Hope someone can give me a clue, to why my new graphiccard runs worse than my old and slower.
Getting LFS to accept 5.x.x.x IP-adresses
neRu
S3 licensed
Im sitting behind a firewall from my internet provider, and so is my friend, meaning we cant connect directly and play lfs together. We have different internet providers.

Therefore we found a program called Hamachi which could establish a "fake" network between computers, through Hamachi servers. We got it up and running, and the hamachi-system gave us an 5.x.x.x ip. We tried pinging eachother with success, so we thought that LFS would work fine by now.

It just didn't. When i enter the IP-adress in lfs, in instantainiously* just refuses to try to connect, and just says "
you must enter a valid local network IP".

Howcome ?

It might be an improvement suggestion, to make a higher value available.

I wanna join the rest of the pack, so I made a new enginesound for the RB4, that sounds like a NA-tuned car.

It's not as screaming as vtec's can be, its more of a brutal engine.
