Oh yeah... I'm even looking forward to the drive down, since its the first long journey out of London I've done for a while. Anyone need a lift from South London? Not sure what route I'll be taking yet, but I'm guessing ... South Circular, pick up M4 at Hammersmith, then M3...
Yeah, I can get into the late 45s, but I'm still buggering around with brake markers, since I rarely drive on SO - consistency is not really a word I can apply to how I drive the course at the moment!
As for the FXO - well I'll just concentrate on leading from the rear with that one: 1.22 my fastest time so far...
Was going to put this in the video thread, but, hell, it deserves a thread all its own. Not just for nostalgists, this should be required viewing. Its all here: close, nose to tail racing; blue flag conduct; clean passing. And its breathtaking...
I like the idea of adding the flat out straight however, and by way of improvements it'd be nice to have something that more clearly delineates that first hairpin. I've only had a couple of bashes at it, but I found the environment a bit bare and was struggling to find markers to use as brake or turn in points (EDIT: Actually, the problem is more that the barriers are the same colour on either side of the road, so the entrance is camouflaged)
LOL... I have never seen anyone on a public server (including STCC) slow for a yellow flag. Standard practice is to keep the right foot planted and blast through...
If he couldn't be arsed to respond to a yellow flag he never deserved the win anyway.
I run LFS on a pentium 3, 1ghz, tablet PC (I dunno, 14" screen or something daft like that...). Frankly, you should be getting better frame rates than that. Online I usually get 20fps (+/- 5fps), except at the turn one bottlenecks, where I have to hang back because LFS becomes a magic lantern slideshow.
It depends what the competition is too: UF1s, XFG/XRGs - good frame rates; TBOs on South City - don't bother...
It is a pain in the arse because it does dictate race strategy - I can't even think about leading from the front, because there's no way I'll keep control of the car with a lot of polygons hogging the frame rate in my mirror. Pretty much every race has to fought from the back, picking cars off one at a time. But, hey, that's racing on a budget in a nutshell!
Geezer, you can't pick fights with people and then get upset because they respond. The only person throwing insults around was you (in the post you have now deleted)
And then to turn it into "America - the abused minority" is just plainly manipulative. Turning a news story, in which innocents have genuinely been injured, into some kind of personal drama is distasteful which ever way you look at it.
I, personally, do not think its a very helpful term. Its used by various governments in the way that you used it: as a buzzword to shortcut any rational debate and make ideological assertions about the world appear to be 'facts'.
All liberals do is bitch, and all conservatives do is bitch about liberals bitching. Useless sacks of blood and bone. Now go and take your lithium...
Unfortunately, yes. Same way that a hunting rifle is still a hunting rifle if you shoot your family. This is low tech stuff. You want to make yourself a battlefield weapon? Just mix some acid with some bleach.
2HCl + NaOCl -> Cl2 + NaCl + H2O
To put it in simple terms, if you are attacked with chlorine gas, there is a strong chance you will survive. No doubt you'll be injured, but you can survive. There are historical examples from world war one of troops fighting on without gasmasks whilst under attack from chlorine gas.
Conversely, if attacked with Sarin, the likelihood that you'll survive is significantly smaller.

Reason : "will survive" changed to "can survive"
I know its nit-picking, but, horrible as it is, its a choking agent, and somewhat different in its effects to nerve agents like Sarin. Chlorine gas is not classed as a weapon of mass destruction.
Actually, its your choice: LFS is not your property and its not your decision what people do with it or what gets posted here. It is however within your power to ignore what you don't want to deal with.
But while we're at it, why not list all the the other LFS repetitions:
When is S3 coming out?
Why is LFS so expensive?
Can someone give me a licence?
Can I share my licence?
Can we have more tracks?
Can we have the Nordschleife?
Can we have real tracks?
Can we have real cars?
Some n00b wrecked me/stole my skin!!
Why is LFS the best thing since sex?
When is S2 coming out?
Hey! Demo user! Get a licence!
Ok, I'm bored now, but you know the list is endless... I have to say that if the drift layout thing is the only request that drives you nuts, then you're probably more resilient than you think you are.
