Nice vids! One question. Does the bike tend to get real light coming over the hump on the backstretch? I remember that in the SHO, I would get a bit of wheelspin coming over the crest.

It really is cool that we have such a nice facility right in our own back yard. Even from last August until now, they keep making improvements. With two tracks, and an awesome managment, this will be one of the top facilities in the country within a couple years.

NJMP is a blast! It's fun on four wheels, too.

I'll find out if it's still good this weekend. I have pit passes for Saturday's Grand AM, SPEED Channel weekend. Yayyyy!!!

Just checking. It's hard to be sure with today's advances in technology.

Doesn't it depend on your location? The weight could be far different if you were on, say, the moon. For all we know, you live on Jupiter.

Quote from duke_toaster :IndyCars et al can run on Sears Point in the wet. I don't imagine NASCAR COT cars are overall faster than a Super 2000 car around a road course, and would almost certainly be slower around corners.

Road racing on wets is perfectly doable on all circuits - however, it might be tempting to stick headlights or at least rear marker lights on. On ovals, I don't see it running but it could be testable to see if it could work on a bullring, although the answer would probably be no.

I said what I said because I've never seen it rain at Sears Point. Was more of a joke than anything.

Quote from SidiousX :That would be amazing, but how many times do the road courses get rained out.... Not that much. It seems god only pours rain on the tracks that can't be ran in the rain...

I know from experience that you can count on rain at Watkins Glen at some point every weekend. I've been there for several different events (pro races and track events). It seems like there's always a bit of the wet stuff at some point.

I see the point that you're making. Rain tires for a couple events that may or may not even need them. Shoot, even at Montreal, those tires were quite old. From what I heard, they were made back when the idea of rain tires for NASCAR was first proposed.

Rain tires for Watkins Glen would be nice. Then again, that would be the only cup race worth running in the rain. Ovals are just too dangerous and Sears Point... Well it just aint gonna happen.

You really ought to be on DOT R-compound tires. The difference between these and a true street tire is amazing. There are several brand thst will fit your snake, and others who track mustangs should be able to suggest the correct on for you.

I guess he's got that tool bag that got away from the space station to find. He will return to earth bearing gifts for all the good boys and girls. This is the real santa claus!! The clues are there. We just have to put them all together.

This is very similar to my setup. Mine is the previous version. The difference being an 8600gt rather than the newer 9500gt. I have not had any issues with Cyberpower.

How about Clive Bunker? Might not be the best drummer of all time, but entertaining for me.

Quote from danthebangerboy :Queen, Brighton Rock

Best solo ever!!

Don't be fooled by the beginning of the song either, wait until about 2:40, thats when the excellent guitar work really begins!

Dude, Brian's guitar work is awesome throughout Brighton Rock. Anyway, the backstory on the carnival intro is that it was supplied as a gift from their new managment. It is also that this song opened their third album. Kind of an ear catcher the first time you hear it.

The solo from Brighton Rock was originally used by Brian before Queen was formed. You can hear an earlier version of the solo in this version of Son and Daughter, recorded in 1973 for the BBC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28v9gZUOt2s

Quote from SidiousX :What year is it? My friend has one('91 I believe). And I'm guessing it's a later version, because I believe I hear a V8 under that!

It's a 93. Very similar, in fact. Almost the same v6 engine. Your friend has a 3.0L, mine was a 3.2L.

Although, the rest was pretty well worked over.

I like this one. Then again, I did own it for six years ;-P

But still, I loved listening to that on a daily basis.

Ok. Consider what happens as the car is moving through the air. Regardless of the presence of the supercharger, the scoop is providing increased air pressure over the atmosphere (ram air effect). So, the butterflies on the scoop close as the carb closes to that this pressure does not build up. The result is that under closed throttle conditions, the carb will operate consistently no matter what speed the car is traveling.

Quote from tristancliffe :Yup, they're butterflies. The supercharger is later in the inlet tract. Quite amusing how poor some peoples understanding of engines and superchargers is. <looks at grip driver> <refuses to use the silly capitalisation of his username>

Normally I would endorse any bashing of Mr. Driver, but this time he's done a better job than the majority of other responders. Shocking, isn't it?

^^This is what you're looking at.^^

The butterflies are there to keep air from pushing into carbeurator/s when the throttle is closed. It helps the car run properly at part and closed throttle.

Scoop ==> Carbeurator/s ==> supercharger (blower) ==> intake manifold ==> Cylinderhead ===> KABOOM!!
