Heh thanks. I know the vid isn't so interesting. I would have loved having a little closer competition, but so goes life. Better than sitting on my ass doing nothing at all.
Fun with Conedodgers

So I got a new camera for Christmas. This is my first attempt at creating a video.

Soundtrack courtesy of Rush. I need music to pace myself.
Monitor is a 37" 1080P from Westinghouse.
Cpu is an AMD 3.00 ghz dual core
GFX card is an 8600GT
3 gigs ram

Frame rate is pegged on 60 fps. Pretty cool seeing that I am running LFS, Napster, AIM, and maybe a few other things in the background.

Thanks,
Mike

It might be good for you to check out "Greased Lightning". It's a biographical movie based on the life and career of Wendell Scott. He was the only black man to win at Nascar's highest level.

Quote from s14 drift :let us commence a journey into the much-traveled topic of long posts's unendurable attempts to provide dangerous party animals with a milieu in which they can deliver an additional blow to dignity and self-worth. The nitty-gritty of what i'm about to write is this: Instead of taking the easy path in life, the downward path, we must choose the upward path regardless of the pain, suffering, and sacrifice that this choice entails. Only then can we finally reveal some shocking facts about long posts's smear tactics. Yes, long posts will try to stop us by forcing me to fall firmly into the hands of stroppy, abusive election-year also-rans, but his rejoinders are more than just sexist. They're a revolt against nature. He needs to stop living in denial. He needs to wake up and realize that his flimflams are not pedantic treatises expressing theories or extravaganzas dealing in fables or fancies. They are substantial, sober outpourings from the very soul of vandalism. Is it any wonder that long posts lacks the dim flicker of sentience one needs to qualify as an imbecile? The simple ability to halt the adulation heaped upon dishonest geeks is a pons asinorum that long posts may never cross. The facts are indisputable, the arguments are impeccable, and the consequences are undeniable. So why does long posts claim that taxpayers are a magic purse that never runs out of gold? It's an interesting question and its examination will help us understand how long posts's mind works. Let me start by providing evidence that long posts presents one face to the public, a face that tells people what they want to hear. Then, in private, he devises new schemes to violate strongly held principles regarding deferral of current satisfaction for long-term gains. We must pave the way for people of every sex, race, and socioeconomic status to fulfill their own spiritual destiny. As mentioned above, however, that is not enough. It is necessary to do more. It is necessary to find the common ground that enables others to examine the social and cultural conditions that lead him to parlay personal and political conspiracy theories into a multimillion-dollar financial empire.
Whenever anyone states the obvious—that long posts's speeches tend to be more phatic than illustrative—discussion naturally progresses towards the question, "why doesn't long posts point a critical finger at himself for a change?" my best guess, for what it may be worth, is based on two key observations. The first observation is that long posts is incapable of looking with an open mind at anything that doesn't strictly endorse his views. The second, more telling, observation is that his agitprop machine is running at full throttle. Please re-read and memorize that sentence if you still believe that society is screaming for long posts's sophistries. As if you didn't know, the purpose of this letter is far greater than to prove to you how prurient and dodgy he has become. The purpose of this letter is to get you to start thinking for yourself, to start thinking about how that last statement is almost a tautology. From this anecdotal evidence i would argue that long posts is on some sort of thesaurus-fueled rampage. Every sentence he writes is filled with needlessly long words like "auriculoventricular" and "photochronographical". Either long posts is deliberately trying to confuse us or else he's secretly scheming to glorify pathological, suppressive, murderous governments as the ideologically correct alternative to all other possibilities. I've left out many criticisms of long posts from this wailing wall of a letter. Nevertheless, i suspect that it's a start—a philosophical space where we can plant a new flag symbolizing all that is wrong with long posts.

Is it possible that the oils in the fuel have gummed up the rotating assembly to a point where it won't turn over?

I spot grey hairs every once in a while. And a couple weeks ago I got a letter from the social security administration describing my benifits. I'm only 24 dammit. I wanna have fun. Instead I have rent, car payments and taxes.

I don't have a clue how to do it, but I think it might be fun to have 'shift' and 'ctrl' mapped to the pedals.

Quote from beefyman666 :My 'desk' is just 4 or 5 pieces of wood bodged together and then fixed to the wall with shelf brackets.

Simplicity wins.

That's a sad picture. I mean, the bottle's empty.

I use a full size desk, rescued from the office. It was about to be thrown away. My racing seat is a wooden chair (also rescued from the trash pile). The equipment rack is a wheel saved from an indy car race at Nazareth speedway many years ago. I have a glass top on it that provides a place to stack a few pieces of electronic doodads

I know that it is possible here in Pennsylvania. It's called, being "self insured". You must declare it to the dmv, and be able to back it up with some amount of savings. Typically, it requires you to provide the same coverage that a typical insurance policy would cover.

It's only bad if you've got investments. Otherwise, you can sit back and laugh at the lemmings as the grasp at what's left. That's not to say that we may all notice some changes, but most of us will fair just fine.

Just for kicks, I did a little math. The great depression saw the DJIA drop for three straight years with an average yearly drop of 29%. This time around, from October 2007 to today, we are down 39%. Take that, President Hoover!!

I get between 9-11 mpg on track with my SHO (depends on the racetrack). Driving to the track, I run in the mid 20s. ~3000lbs, 240fwhp, 3.2L V6. The car runs at 14:1 a/f on the highway, and roughly 13:1 while on track.

How would you guys feel about adjustable fuel trims as far as a tuning option?

I think LFS does a fine job with fuel mileage.

Quote from mrodgers :Where I live, the fire department is completely funded by donations and staffed by well trained volunteers. Weekly Bingo games, 50/50 raffles, personal donations, and (here's the American culture coming) gun raffles are what funds our fire departments. It costs the tax payers nothing and it costs you nothing unless you volunteer your donations or participate in the fund raising events.

The US isn't all big cities and big money, you know....

It's the same on my side of the state, too. EMS out here is also made up of volunteers for the most part.

You can't forget the firemans carnival, and the turkey/meatloaf/spaghetti dinners.

There's a lot of pride in our volunteer services.:thumb3d:
