The biggest worry with rain will be getting my chuffin' car out of the "field" car park!

I'll play it by ear on the day

Proper! Might have to break out the long lens and drive over No idea how i'm gonna find any of you guys, so if anyone spots a lanky 6ft4 git in a silver MX-5 (mk2.5) then wander over

oh, and i'm Alan in the real world.

Seems that the official site is currently dead. Is this a pre-book tickets job? or is it a pay as you turn up thing? If it's the latter, it's not far away from me, be a good crack

Plus i've driven the track myself in my hairdresser special (MX-5), so it'll be nice to see people doing it properly

What boost is the RA supposed to be ooomphing out. It does feel like it's trying to force treacle in to the engine, not air...

XRG.... because you can't do it by just banging the go pedal down harder

Great stuff as per usual, just a shame there's that one long shot of the silly drilled brake discs that aren't spinning. Other than that one little pet hate. Top stuff!

Really nice effect, nice to see the driver going for it inside the car, proper!

In a small way i'd say yes. It's helps you learn the theory of track driving in a "virtually practical" way... If you understand me. Can't really be sure as I can't try both options, but my 1st track day in my MX-5 went well, the instructor geezer was quite impressed for a n00b

Aye, I think if you stay planted on the throttle, then nudge the shifter to neutral, the car stays in gear. When you get off the go pedal, the car drops to neutral.

Roll on FFB shifters!

Wouldn't that mean you have to hold the button down to stay in gear? I haven't tried this, but isn't it a case of having no gear input sticks the car in neutral?

I like it. Nice to see the driver throwing the wheel about smoothly for a change, rather than the blip-fest that is .mpr files. (not a complaint, just a such is life thing )

Shame about the over-turning of the wheel through the bodywork, and the static brake disc, but otherwise, nice one!

Quote from Drift_0k :sorry for asking this really stupid question, what is a G meter for?

It shows the g forces that the car is currently enjoying. Same info as you get on the tyre info screen.

Quote from dropin_biking :Great program, really amazing work. You deserve an S2 licence. As for Drift apprentice I don't see how you are so pissed about framerates, your moniter can only refresh so fast (60hz = 60fps, 70hz=70fps) So really, you can't see a difference past 85fps (Asuming you have a CRT or LCD moniter that has the usual refresh rates up to 85hz)

Just to finish off to this one, I got a reply back from Nildram. They say they don't throttle any ports. Which is good. Also, the horrible loss I was getting above is gone. Think one of the gateways had gone a little Brokeback Mountain.

All sorted, been doing some lovely lag and disconnection free driving

Quote from Dark Elite :Is there any way to reverse the starting order of a race that did have qualification? In other words, make the person who qualified fastest start at the back, and so on?

DE

That would mean everyone would drive like Sunday specials during the qualifying lap no?

Also been trying the GURU server, actually got a connection, but lagged out 3 times. Better than the STCC servers at least.

Tried the WinMTR program Bean0 suggested. I think I see a problem

Having similar drama... Just tried connecting to the GURU server to test the low port theory. Connected using 4307 (I think, was in the 4000's anyway), and it worked fine. So could be the ISP.

I've fired off an email to the Nildram tech monkey's, and i'll keep 'em crossed. Good to know i'm not the only unfortunate with drama.

Great vid. Loved the start of it, with the cars appearing in the garage, then all accellerating off and setting the tone of what's to come. Classic.

Nice effects with the picture in picture, driving school, and the external sliding view.

Quote from kurent :...I just hope nobody noticed that horrible typo in the credits...

And I only looked because you posted that nice one

Only watched the first one so far thanks to cRapidShare. Awesome work, great angles, and a nice music track to go with it. Absolutely murdered by crap compression though

Doh!

Should have just downloaded and worked that one out for myself! Cheers!

Any chance of an option to remove the drift angle display, and just have the g-ball?

Quote from SamH :What I'd really like, though realism doesn't exactly fit with this idea, would be a pitspotter-type thingymabob.. a proximity alert for cars around you. If a car's sitting at my rear left quarter, I'd like a tone beeping at me, coming from there. The closer they are, the more rapid the "ping".

It'd be worth buying the extra speakers if I had that!!

Already "kinda" done this by murdering most of pitspotters .wav files so I get a left and right "bleep" noise with a fairly frequent repeat rate. Not 3d granted, but better than a kick in the knackers

surround would be nice, although i'm quite happy with my 2 speakers

Quote from Goop :I don't think trailbraking is the sort of thing you need worry about when learning to drive LFS. Concentrate more on getting on the gas as early as possible, rather than maximizing braking.[/SIZE]

Another tip that worked for me when learning (before trail braking), was being smooth coming off the brake before turn in.

Good call! Got a PDA sat next to my screen too. Fuel, and some of the info from the F9-12 menus would be cool. Fairly pointless, but cool!
