As I said this gives no one advantage - everyone will be running the same setup only with minor changes, and basically everyone could be a championship contender then. Either way this was just a suggestion towards the community, but can be discussed as the series is still under construction.
The fixed setup is to allow novice drivers to get the taste of racing without further knowledge of setups. As the series is aimed for everyone, we're making it balanced so everyone is driving with the same setups, but with different talent.
Just to inform something to prove that I'm have not forgotten about this, we've now built some layouts to be added in the calendar. Also, I think 6 rounds is the way to go. Note that there can be 2 rounds from the same track area.
For those who didn't know it yet: Remco Majoor (CodeLyoko1) and Damian Eikelkamp (deking235) officially joined the team couple days ago. Sisu Grand Prix hasn't appeared in any series yet, and with the new members we will be participating in various LFS series. I will also update our websites as well, when I got time to do so.
Well I originally planned to get layouts approximately of the same length (in laptimes) but judging LFS' little amount of different tracks, it's rather impossible. Instead, I'll make tracks in different lengths (laptimes will be under 1:50 each track). I will not use the parking lot areas though, only the layout areas. And I prefer a fairly long calendar, which means there will be more than 1 event on the same track area, but with different layouts.
Reminder for those who plan to participate in the series: They must be in a valid team, teamless drivers are not allowed. This is a team-based series, with 2 drivers in each team to a race. Meaning, that drivers shall be swapped during the races, but only 2 drivers per team per race. One team can compete with only one driver though.
Ok, I think the poll speaks for itself now. I think we should indeed publish this series! Now we just need people to play their roles in the whole setup.
Oh didn't realize this version has already been featured in the unofficial open configuration list anyway, I'm going to do some changes on it so it's distinguishable.
The reason for not using full grid is just a thought that is stuck on my head, after experiencing Formula Challenge with over 40 cars, that's no good...and since this layout is so narrow and short, I would prefer a fairly limited amount. But things can change, it was just a suggestion...
Well, things like tire pressures and fuel load would only be allowed to be changed.
Please keep in mind that this is still a WIP and numerous changes can happen I put the tyres on the apexes just to avoid cutting, which is rather obvious.
I will start making the skins soon enough because we aren't competing in any series yet I don't know when, but as we aren't racing anywhere in LFS yet, I have good time to prepare the skins.
