I've made a quick 2048x2048 Photoshop file with the wireframe in, it'll do for now until the Master Skinnerz kit gets created.

Created using blender to export out the UVs.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :Not really because it works in a different way. Opera does a DNS lookup for each TLD (takes time to query) whereas in Firefox the shortcut just adds the rest without lookups (faster, more convenient).

There is a way, but you have to edit the keyboard shortcuts, but I don't know what the commands are - my search of the Opera forums turned up that you could do this, but it didn't explain how.

I don't know how this compares to the Firefox web dev toolbar, but there is 'Handy Menu' for opera - http://wiki.zdyx.org/Opera:en:HandyMenu but I'm not sure if there is a noscript equivalent for Opera.

There is Opera-USB for portability http://www.opera-usb.com/ but it's not up to 9.5 yet.

I needed a break from work last night, so I messed around with this. The reflections haven't turned out like I had hoped so I need to play around with the texturing some more.

Cinema4D 32min rendering time.

Parts of this skin are from Anathema's FZR shadow kit, which has since been taken down...

Multiple network adapters for differetn program

Is it possible to force a program(s) to use a certain network adapter, while the rest of the system using another network adapter?

At work, our ADSL conection comes in via a standard ADSL wireless router/firewall/modem, which then goes to our work's firewall and then on to a switch to get to our PCs in the building. Pretty standard stuff.

However, there were some flaws in the security of our IT department (not based in the same country being the main one) in that the ADSL modem has its wireless enabled, so we can bypass our work firewall and listen to internet radio, however, by doing that we drop off our work's (wired) network and can not get emails or connect to other PCs. So, is it possible to force a program (foobar2000 in this case) to use a certain network adapter?

edit: Topic should say 'Multiple network adapters for different programs':smash3d:

Quote from Hankstar :I hop onto CD1 occasionally (FXR - new friend ) and can't help but think that a system that rewarded consistency over a whole race rather than just one quick lap under the target time would be beneficial (especially, selfishly, because my pb is a tantalisingly close 1.44.03, I can run ten laps in the 1.44s with not much hassle and I often finish on the podium - thanks to the ol' "start dead last and avoid the carnage" trick ). After all, you could draft someone just once and nail a 1.43.xx when you'd normally be struggling to hit 1.44

Put simply, I'd like to see people being rewarded for their racing and not just their hotlapping skills. No precise idea how that would work but I guess overall race time would be a good indicator of someone's consistency.

I also wouldn't mind an end to mid-race joining on CD1. People are out there racing for a reason other than a quick fun blast and I've had more than one good lap, not so much ruined, but definitely made a tad longer because of a late starter holding up proceedings

People will be rewarded for their racing and not just for 1 good lap, but not with the current temporary system.

Stopping mid-race joining...it's a 50/50 thing, a bit like marmite

Quote from The General Lee :...
Although I did get kicked by a very rude admin who guessed wrong that i wrecked him when I didnt. But thats a different story, if a CD admin would like to look into it, PM me as I havnt been on your server for this reason.
...

PM me with a replay and I'll look into it.

Quote from drinklime :Oh my god, now I see what you mean. I just tried the Cone Dodgers server, never seen so many jerks in my life. Someone was clearly slower than me, and when I try to pass him he would steer towards me and block. Then someone was clearly faster than me and rammed me from behind on a straight!!! WTF?????

PM me with a replay and I'll look into this also. Just so we understand, and to make sure I'm not being a cynic, it almost sounds like both incidents above are the same except that in one case you are the car in front, and in the other, you are the car behind. Might just be the way you have worded it and me being a cynic

If you think we should ban someone from the CD servers, then do me a favor - save a replay, watch it back from both points of view and then if you still think the person deserves a ban then send the replay to me. (let me know which lap it happened on!)

To quote a CD admin "Replay, or it never happened".

Skoda Fabia VRS? 1.9 TDI 130bhp, cheap too. Assuming you're not worried about the brand name (undeserved since VW took ownership).

Did very well in the TopGear 2005 survey (http://www.topgear.com/content ... 005/11/stories/01/20.html)

and yes I own one not sure if they are considered a 'super mini' though, they probably are though...

Quote from Hammerdown :Saw the post, had a look and did a 1:44.15 this morning (single player, FZR). Had a go on the server and best was a 46 something I think. Nice clean racing, so thanks.

BTW what tyres would you guys use on an FZR for a ten lap race, R2s?

Yes, R2 are the most suitable type of tyre.

Quote from Becky Rose :You know, just because you can run 32 racers does not mean that you should .

I do wish you all the best with your coming system though.

We live in hope of 32 clean drivers on a server at the same time, wouldn't that be something

Quote from nathanm :It seems like a simple InSim program could fix that right up.

The system we will be using has that feature, and it was almost ready for public testing - but Patch X and the improved InSim were announced which meant, like the CTRA system, our system had to be rewritten. We have a stop-gap solution on CD2 which has a driver white-list (thanks to the_angry_angel) which we hope will help. Drivers will have to prove themselves on CD1 first though, so it's obviously not a perfect solution.

Quote from danowat :HELL YES, they need some SERIOUS moderation, well, the mods are just as bad, I suggest just giving them a VERY wide berth.

I completely understand why someone would be saying that, and its very frustrating for us when we hear it. We do have a very varied driver skill base on our servers, from world record holders, to people who attempt to drive a lap without knowning they have the pit limiter on...

As Lotes has mentioned, 32 drivers are very hard to keep an eye on, and we do actually want to have a race most of the time rather than baby sit the servers. There will be more 'marshalls' soon (not soon enough!)

Unless it has changed since I last used it, you need to just assign material names in blender, and then edit the materials (textures etc) using the indigo exporter.

You could try http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/ - it's a free renderer that, once you get your head around the material creation, is very good. It supports lots of different types of rendering.

It can import .obj files, or you can download a python script to export out from blender, or download a version of blender which integrates Kerkythea inside blender.
