Quote from rosewood2 :Goodbye :/
When LFS gets a second hayday (doubtful, but possible if we join forces...) will the competition return?

Maybe, but it couldn't be me running that one any more.

Shame to see such a decline in part-taking. I just hope that it will improve once we get another hoster

And no, it's not impossible to add Arabic into LFS. It just requires more coding and the characters used by Arabic need to be made for display in the game. Otherwise it would look like gibberish.

you should buy the full LFS and come experience it in its fullness before worrying about insulting another user.

Where do you see me insult LFS305? I only pointed out the important stuff. Nothing to worry about (unless you mean "its not my fault that you didnt put this topic in the language pack forums" thingy, that isnt an insult).

Quote from Scawen :Arabic is quite a difficult one to support because the text needs to go in the reverse direction, so it's not just a case of adding the Arabic alphabet. A lot needs to be done with the text formatting and the way the characters are drawn on the screen. I haven't researched how the input method works and how you combine Latin text and Arabic text in one string, and how the direction of the text changes in one ascii string... it sounds quite confusing. Anyway, I'm interested in it but I really can't estimate when we can support Arabic.

Quote from Scawen :[...]Anyway Arabic in LFS is not forgotten - I'm interested in supporting the right-to-left languages like Arabic and Hebrew, after studying them at some point but I think it will still be a long time before these become a priority... as you know the Scirocco is the main priority at the moment [...]

Quote from Eclipsed :Seems more sadistic then the idea to use UF1 at the Kyoto endurance track I had when open configs were introduced... Big grin

I haven't mentioned the car yet... but since this race will be for slick-tyred cars, maybe one of the GTR cars? Thumbs up

Quote from vitaly_m :Rony, it is good time to try out some open configs, don't you think? ^^

I actually had a sadistic idea for Rony to use UM21's "Maximum Yard" for the next RTFR. But I guess that's too sadistic, Rony?

That's a lovely piece of work! Will you remake your previous layouts using the new LFS objects?

Thanks for understand.

Get well soon, Lynce.

I don't think so. The problem is that, when you copy the russian text into LFS, it has a different codepage than LFS. That's why you get gibberish text after pasting the russian text.

Quote from Victor :A smilie selector is now available in the full editor.
Haven't yet imported all smilies previously available, but that'll come over time.

Awesome.
What about the smiley codes? Will they be imported as well??

Quote from mbutcher :I used to love playing this. Radical play's games are so addictive and I like the style of graphics they use, almost cartoon-like.

I've completed all of Radical Play's games at some stage or another. I remember playing and completing radical aces on my first go back in ~2002/3.

I actually found NFM 1 on Miniclip in 2004 and beat it a few days later (because I was young and stupid, didn't know english back then Tongue)
Radical Aces was awesome too. Found it months later and didn't get past the 1st mission simply because I wanted to fly Thumbs up. (BTW my new avatar is a screenshot from the first game (Stage 6: Paninaro, Caninaro, Let's fly!; I'm DRMonstaa, besides me is Radical One))
Have you heard of the modded NFM versions?? Lots of NFM enthusiasts with a bit of knowledge on Java have modified the game (either in its entirety or just a certain part). I can send you some versions if you want.

If you have played this game before, share your experiences. Otherwise, I'll explain what it is:

This game doesn't have the same graphics nor the physics as LFS, but its almost as equally exciting as LFS!
It was made by Radicalplay Ltd., who brought also Radical Aces (a flying game) and Maniac Racers ("the predecessor of NFM" with top-down view). The first game has 10 cars out of which 5 are starter cars and 11 stages. To finish a stage you have to complete all the laps or waste the opponents. To unlock a car, you have to finish 2 stages (so for car 6 you have to finish stage 1 & 2 and for car 7 stage 3 & 4 and so on...).

To play the game you can go here (I recommend having Java 7 update 15 or below, because it might not work above this version): CLICK

It also has its own wikia: CLICK which is updated every day by enthusiasts of the game.
If you want to know the stages and cars, here you go:

Quote from Victor :Our switch died which led to instable connectivity all day (it wasn't optimal for a few weeks now actually). Tonight after a reset it didn't work at all anymore.
I've installed a temporary switch now, and everything should be back to normal. There will be some planned downtime further down the road to replace the loaner with a permanent one.

I hope that you will announce it so we wouldn't be surprised once again Smile

Quote from Racer X NZ :Screw the chick car thing, this is what LFS really needs...
[Reliant Robin]
Racing one of these, what tyre physics problems !

Maybe there wouldn't be any issues with tyre physics, but there would be problems with cornering for sure. Wink As in "How to go around a corner in the Reliant without being flipped to the side?" but I'm pretty sure we would find a solution to that problem later.

Quote from Rodrigo-Kaiser :Does this works online? Lol.

Yes, you can play with it online with absolutely no compatibility issues. However, you can't upload hotlaps with it, as it's a test patch. Scawen said so in the first post.
