I think it'd be a good idea if done right, maybe making a cruise specific "SC" license level that is even cheaper than S1 just to encourage demo cruisers to put some money into LFS.
I like this, we need more virtual hobby simulators! How about a virtual gardening simulator? I'd make it free to play but use micro transactions for things like seeds, fertilizer, or pesticides, and sell expansions to give access to things like greenhouses!
I've dramatically improved the performance and efficiency of my car by simply removing the instrument panel cover and turning the speedometer needle up and down to accelerate and decelerate my car.
LFS "runs" at 100 Hz, so you're going to end up with a little stuttering if your display is locked at 60 Hz. I use a CRT with the refresh rate set to 100 Hz and LFS is perfectly smooth.
The main problem I've had with Blackshark is the terrible wingman AI. When they're not crashing into the back of your chopper, they're blindly charging into enemy range and getting shot down when ordered to attack individual units. About the best use for them is scouting: send them ahead to relay target locations to you, plus if you see the SAM that shot them down you'll know where to look before entering the area.
I considered that my post might have been a bit harsh, but then I realized that it's possible the reason his post translated so badly wasn't just because it got butchered by whatever automatic translator he used, but that it might have originally been written in really bad Finnish too. It's not like English speakers have a monopoly on terrible writing skills...
And if the OP's only 9, I'll cut 'em some slack and just suggest they get NFS or GT5 or whatever to fulfill their car modification urges, Live for Speed just isn't that kind of sim.
The people were going "Cool, the fog over the river makes the rest of the city on the other side look like it's floating above the clouds." Which somehow gets turned into "OMG, A UFO CITY!!11!"
If the engine uses a magneto for ignition, has a mechanical fuel pump, and the carburetor is completely mechanical (no fuel cut-off solenoid or other electronics,) it could run fine without a battery, just like a lawn mower.
Also, modern alternators don't start generating voltage without a external power source because the rotor uses a coil instead of permanent magnets to generate a rotating magnetic field. This means you can't push start a car with a totally dead or missing battery. You can always put a booster on and then get the engine turning, at which point the alternator will keep itself operating even without a battery.
I've driven an older car that had an electronic carburetor (ECU, O2 sensor, and a solenoid to control mixture) and used a mechanical fuel pump (driven by a extra cam on the cam shaft.) The alternator went bad once and I drove over a hundred miles, mostly at night, on the battery without realizing it (the charging system warning light never lit up when running.)
I know some automatics avoid DFCO when in "overdrive" or whatever the highest drive position is labeled, and only use in when in plain "drive" or with an actual gear selected.
Running the engine at the optimum brake specific fuel consumption point and then coasting in neutral is the essence one of the more effective hypermiling techniques, pulse and glide.
It'll disable the look buttons. I should be able to make it work with the buttons too, but let me know if it works ok with your wheel for now. I tried with my gamepad and it moved in pretty big jumps and wasn't pretty.
You should be able to assign your steering wheel turn axis to control the look angle as described in the first post. Then you can edit the camlevel_cfg.txt file and set the look_angle2 line to set how far you want it to turn when the wheel is turned 100%.
