Quote from tristancliffe :It's not quite like that Scania. F1 engines are loud, but they make a lot of power. Jet engines are loud, but make a lot of power. 1.2l Vauxhall engines are quiet, and couldn't pull the scab off a schoolboy's knee.

Remember that the sound energy is only a tiny proportion of the total energy in the system, most of which is in the form of heat. Barely 25% of the energy comes out as torque/power.

Having said that, the chavs* with big exhausts that reduce the output of their car do increase the amount of noise at the expense of power. All show and no go. One reason why they deserve to be laughed at.

*anyone who fits 'sports' exhausts to a road car.

Because they make more power

25% of 1000ps & 100% of 100ps, which is higher?

I'm talking about efficiency

If we can make 500ps wheel power from 50% of 1000ps energy of fuel, why do we should make it from 5% of 10000ps?

Quote from Zen321 :Not in NFSU2 (the game where your add setup options similar to LFS). You could set your NOS on a function where extra power depended on duration (more duration = less power let's say 9 more HP sec / Less duration = more power like 25hp/second)

But..... NOS in NFS is not a really NOS!!!!!
NO SYSTEM CAN CHARGE POWER BY DRIFT!!!!!!!!!!

Quote from Zen321 :God, do you know how to read ?

I never said NOS IRL !! I said NOS in NFS
NOS in NFS NOS in NFS NOS in NFS

KERS in Live For Speed will be like Nitrous Oxide in Need For Speed. IE : Same feeling, same method.

Now you understand ?

And with the NOS, you can adjust the output curve very easily : just play on the solenoid size. Smaller = less more hp but longer time / Larger = more hp but shorter time.

NOS in NFS UG & NFS PS is also no recharging

NOS in NFS just a on/off system, but KERS NOT!
You can have your choice how the power output--Max output in a stage or keep it Continuously under a lower output, that means you can let the kers not be a booster, you can let it push the car all the time with low power output!
You need to think "how to use this power"

if the power recharge is more than the power output(you can do it with tune down the power output), that means the KERS can supply power in hold lap & hold race, not just be a booster

high power booste or low power extra engine, it will be YOUR choice

Quote from ButterTyres :cmon have you looked at diesel racing? Le Mans & BTCC & WTC... ok so you cant hear the engine screaming, it hardly ruins it. Makes it different, but doesnt ruin it.

engine screaming is sound, sound is energy, more engine screaming=lost more power
I just want to have a car which can send all the power to its wheel, not the other place and waste it

Quote from Zen321 :It is a metaphore dudes.

NOS in NFS : temporary boost that recharges when you don't use it.
KERS IRL : Stored energy recovered from braking fills a "tank" that will apply some more horsepower to the engine in F1 GP (according to the FIA "no more than [insert hp here], for no more than 6 seconds per lap).

So : KERS IRL = NOS in NFS

I am really sad that the F1 is being dominated by political and ecological views since the European parliament stated that "motorsports have to be a showroom for future environmental-friendly technologies". This is gonna turn F1 to a ChampCar like with a push-to-pass button, and not only the skills of the drivers coupled to the balance of the car.

Shame on the EU !

but NOS won't recharging in the real life
and NOS can't set the output curve

Quote from tikshow :Kers in LFS = NOS in NFS, so thanks, but no

no
NOS wil be use up but KERS won't
and you can tune the power output curve of KERS-max power output in a few sec or keep it smooth under a lower output
e.g.
80ps in 7sec
40ps in 14sec
20ps in 28sec
10ps in 56sec

Quote from sam93 :If it rains Massa will start doing donuts again like he did at Silverstone, Hamilton will win if it is still raining when the race starts and during the race.

If the rain stop during race, he will changh tires very early because his driving style is too hurt the tires.

F3 KOREA SUPER PRIX 2001: COCHET WINS IN CHANGWON
One week after the Macau Grand Prix the world´s elite of Formula 3 drivers took part in the South Korean Super Prix held at the 3.014 kilometre long street circuit of Changwon, being about one hour by plane apart from the country´s capital of Seoul. The track is completely surrounded by safety barriers, so the slightest mistake ends with a shunt.
Jonathan Cochet of France was the absolutely best driver under these conditions. Already in qualifying the Signature Competition driver had done an excellent job, when he had scored the pole position with his Dallara Renault F399.
The Frenchman lead both the 27 laps heats from start to finish, making no mistakes to dominate Briton Andy Priaulx in his Dallara Honda F301 coming home 2nd place. The third man on the podium this time was Frenchman Benoit Treluyer, who had been 2nd in Macau behind new Jordan Grand Prix driver Sato.

Quote from JJ72 :i think the only point is there are these clubs who can afford to run a series...basically just for the sake of it, and reintroduce nice sounding V12 formula cars, and hopefully some good racing.

apart from that, I really can't make out the teams on the track, just a cluster of colour really, and frankly some team ain't exactly "super", nor does the racing team has any relation to the soccer team.

I don't like the so much piston engine...

Quote from Töki (HUN) :R.I.P F1... What's next? Same engines, same cars? Bullshit.

But the hybrid system is not the same
imagine that if all the money they spend in chassis , Aerodynamic & engine now move to hybrid system, what will it be?
250ps from engine & 550ps hoursepower from engery recover system is possible~~~~~

I think I can understand what Max think about

all we know, we will have turbo, heat engery recover system(HERS?) & a higher power KERS in 2013
2 HERS will supply around 200ps hoursepower continuously, not only for power booste

As what we know now, Turbo & two "E.R.Systems" are not include in the "one Formula engine" rule. that means the only ways to make the cars have higher power of manufacturer is Turbo & the E.R.Systems. So, the most effective car will be the winner.

Quote from squidhead :pffft....pfff.... MMM...MWUAAAAHAHHAAAAAA.... You aren't serious are you? That's the best explanation for lags I have ever seen

Also, lending somebody's S2 License doesn't make the Great Wall disappear (or else touists woudl have noticed)

1. the great wall is not 100% make people lag, the effect was different between different ISP and aera
2. driftfun (YuTou)is live in Taiwan, so no great wall for him

Quote from squidhead :is that legal?

I don't know, but everyone know that there are some "great wall" in China, it make some S2 driver can't play mutiplayer (too lag), so they always lend the S2 Lic to other.
