Well yeah, I agree that gettin Alpha invite is a better solution, even if that doesn't provide you an access to MP gaming. It's all about the testing, right? If you wanna full experience - buy it. Simple as that. If anyone could send me an invitation to try out Arma III Sp, I would be really appreciated.

Btw, I've already mentioned about BF2 mod Project Reality, I see that v1.6 of this mod is already runnin' on Arma II base and it's really popular (I see no reason to be suspicious about it, 'cos as far I've played this mod on BF2 I know this mod is unbelievable).
The developers have pointed out that they are about to start making a brand new version of Project Reality for Arma III. It's amazing. Still.. I think still even at Alpha condition, there is a great deal to buy Arma II for 5 euros, download this mod and play MP with 60+ persons on the server, 'cos anyways you'll need to wait for Arma III until late summer to get a final product without bugs. So, you are still free to not wait until summer and experience a true brutal warfare MP gaming. Just an advice.
I do remember BF2 times, playin' with 60+ people online. It was a remarkable experience. The thing I know for sure - Arma III + Project Reality mod gonna be legen - waaait for it... - dary..

Btw, more info about the mod: realitymod.com

Dont worry, mate. It's an alpha version. It will get better over the time. It's some fps leak due to not optimized version. The developers has still a lot to do. Even one guy who streamed his gameplay and uploaded on youtube recommended me not to rush buying this game, cos at this stage it has a million of bugs, but well.. easy to say.. I won't be waiting until June to get a final version of the game

Btw, can I ask you how did you get an access to the game if you haven't bought this yet?

Mate, try one trick with the settings: play around with shadow details. I watched one video earlier today, and I saw that there is basically no difference between low and high shadow setting. I mean, well.. yeah high looks a bit more realistic, softer, but what touches dynamic rendering (how the shadow changes when u moving and looking at it from different angles), you can see that on high setting, the shadow may look very, very edgy from a particular angle, meanwhile on low settings, the shadow is much more well rendered out, so not edgy. So, I think you can earn some fps on this part. I think it's some kind of bug which Bohemia Interactive needs to sort it out and fix it.

Yeah, also recording puts down some amount of fps. Well.. Yeah judging from your video, mate, the graphics are unbelievable. The sounds either are. I am surprised that you run this game pretty decently even with such GPU u mentioned and fraps (i guess) recording. So I am really looking forward to test it out with my brand new MSi HD 7850 OC 1GB GDDR5. The thing is I am a bit concerned about my CPU, but well.. We all know that games (this one as well) is more like GPU demanding, instead of CPU. We can find not really many examples where game are more CPU demanding (such as GTA IV) than GPU.

Boris, can you share your pc specs. I am really pleased to hear that HD 7850 runs beautiful on Arma III, meanwhile I've read before some stories that basically Arma III guys, Bohemia Interactive, built game using Nvidia cards and PhysX engine, so the game is not really optimized for Radeon owners, but I've watched some gameplay videos on youtube and game even at Alpha stage runs really well on Nvidia, either on Radeon GPUs. Well I think it depends on many factories, but the easiest way is to charge GPU for all faults, not really gettin' close to the real problem, such as graphic settings in the game: puttin a huge amount of visibility which GPU can't just handle and etc. Also, some stuff related to hardware and don't forget the fact it's not even Beta, it's the very first stage - Alpha. Well I even managed to play Arma II pretty decently on my old GPU: Asus NGT 9600 512MB GDDR3 and I heard many things on Arma III is using the same engine as Arma II, so yeah.

Well.. Arma II was a total discovery for me. Such a nice warfare simulation. So real. No multishooting to shoot down the person. Also, those tactics, team play, huge maps, a big selection of vehicles, guns. Authentic sounds and movements. The graphics are decent and nice as well. I was really into Project Reality mod for BF2 game. Arma II was even a big step forward. So, I do expect from Arma III even more. Can't wait to buy the game and feel the experience.

Arma III by Bohemia Interactive
Hey, guys!

Somehow I do miss a thread about this one exciting warfare simulation. Your thoughts about a brand new release of Arma? Well it's still an Alpha version, so basically it is on test conditions (not optimized yet and stuff).

From March 14 (if I am right) there will be a possibility for a current Arma III Alpha owners to send an invitation to friends to test this game for free until 18th of June. The current price of this game starts at 24.99 euros, then deluxe version 39.99 euros, supporters - 69.99 euros. More info at: http://www.arma3.com/buy

Well, basically what I've found out - the game, judging of pc specifications, isn't really demanding:

PC requirements:

OS: Windows Vista SP2/Windows 7 SP1 (as recommended one)
Processor: Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz/AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz 512MB (Intel Core i5-2300/AMD Phenom II X4 940 1GB recommended)
Memory: 2 GB RAM (4GB recommended)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT/ATI Radeon HD 3830/Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Nvidia GeForce GTX 560/AMD Radeon HD 7750 recommended)
Hard Drive: 15 GB free HDD space (25 GB free HDD space recommended)
Audio: DirectX® compatible on-board (as recommended one)

Note: If you'll play up to 1080p and single monitor, you are fine with 1GB RAM GPU card, if you wanna play beyond 1080p or on triple screens 2GB is strongly recommended. Well I've heard that SLi technology is not really optimized yet and not a big performance is achieved with couple of runnin' card/no better performance at all.

I think you need to clam down and have a cup of tea, guys! I do agree with Phil that nowadays the people are too much demanding. They do criticize and criticize, instead of enjoy the the product. AC is working to bring the simulation as close to the reality as possible.

Oh wow, really great to hear such words from you two, guys! Well.. I am not on the main pc at the moment, so I will upload the video when I get on main pc. It will take several days. So, yeah.. When I'll upload - I drop the link here so you would be able to download it and enjoy. I really do appreciate your demand. Thanks, guys!

Quote from Bmxtwins :I understand that, but I thought assetto corsa was supposed to exceed every other simulator out there. It was amped up so much. And in this tech demo they don't have damage, etc. Just seems a bit unfinished so far.

Sorry, but are you seriously that stupid or just acting? It's a tech preview! It was released just to test a benchmark on different systems that community has. Basically it was released to monitor everyone's fps work and how many video settings affect that. THAT'S IT. AC community has to collaborate with AC developers and work along, not just sit and enjoy the 'game'. Damn why you even should be informed about the certain things. Follow the action in development!

Can I somehow turn off the trees or something? My VGA runs at 45-55fps, it's old Asus GeForce 9600 GT Silent. Of course it doesn't support DirectX 11, so the trees are not rendered in the way it should be. Basically apart them everything is pretty good. Can I turn them off, 'cos it visually distracts. Thanks.

I watched 85th Oscars this night. Damn what a long night it was.. I even almost felt asleep at some stages. Ok... So, speaking about the winners, I am extremely happy for Life Of Pi winning oscar in Cinematography and Original Score nomination. That decision made by academic movie critics was really great. Also, I was really happy to see Christopher Waltz winning Best Supporting Actor, 'cos let's face it - he blew all his opponents far away. He is an extreme talent as Daniel Day-Lewis is which won fairly (I would have been happy for Denzel Washington as well). Although, I was not satisfied with nomination Best Original Song. Adele is on the wave, so the formula is simple: she takes everything, 'cos of her status. It's not FAIR. Just listen to the composition of "Pi's Lullaby" from Life of Pi. Such a greatness. How did such a song not win? Unbelievable. Well, it's quite awkward to rate when I've not seen Lincoln yet. Well, I saw Argo and I don't agree it's the best movie this year. Even Life of Pi with its adapted screenplay is much more involving, interesting, so does Unchainned Django with an original screenplay is(happy for this film winning in Best Original Screenplay nomination). I am happy for Ang Lee winning Best Director nomination.

Quote from luchian :There is no such thing.. a high end graphics card requires around 200W. The 400W is the required power for a complete system running a GTX650 and basic components.

I, for example, am running a Q6600 + GTX670 on an old PSU (5 years) of 500W.

OK, my bad that I did misunderstand. The thing is you've discovered that new, high end cards use ~200 W, GTX650-E just 60W. It's a massive difference and you won't need any additional PCIe connector for additional power. That's less head ache and this economic card seems to be as powerful as basic GTX650. With pretty same Mhz bandwidth

Quote from kill_em_all :yep, I have the same stupid card....the tree panels are purely awesome

Still with all video settings to low I manage to get 50-50 fps and an idea...

Mate, I know that thing with power consumption. All new ones require much energy. The thing is I think I found a good sollution: Asus GeForce® GTX 650-E which was made for not so much powered pc's and it even fits to older motherboard owners, cos basically this uses standart PCIe-X16 port. And this video card uses just 64 W power! Which is stunning compared with it's brother model GTX 650 which requires a new PCIe 3.0 port and additional power supply, cos uses 400 W or something like that. So it's a brand new and economic video card. Really looking forward to it. Costs? EU stock prices: for 1GB GDDR5 about 95 euros, for 2GB GDDR5 115 euros. So, the price is pretty same as current's GTX 650.
