I don't have any of those problems. The links page loads fine, and the hotlaps download just fine. It could just be your browser, try another one and see if it solves anything.
The only bug I see is that on the links page there is supposed to be a link to LFS Database, but there is no link and no picture (the other links have a picture banner associated with each one).
"Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)"
Ummm you have a Pentium D processor, that's better than a P4 because it's a dual-core CPU, whereas a P4 is a single-core CPU. Pentium D is basically 2 P4s put on the same chip.
hehe make sure arox doesn't join, I'm sure he'll find a way to crash the master server again somehow. these 'world record' attempts always get out of control when he's around :P
I don't really like that new 4650 AGP card, it uses GDDR2 memory (according to the product page), whereas the Sapphire 3850 uses GDDR3 memory, which is much faster. The difference will be noticeable in games, but who knows, the newer 4000-series GPU architecture might make up for that weakness. Also, the 4650 would be a mid-range card according to the numbering, whereas the 3850 would be a high-end card. I'm not saying to get the 3850 per se, just comparing them so that you can get what you need. The 4650 may not be in stores for a while though, but when it does come out I predict it will be much cheaper than the 3850. So your choice all depends on how much gaming you will do and how much you're willing to spend to upgrade an dated computer.
I think it's pretty clear from the way he asked his question that he's never used Linux before. The question he asked is the most basic question of all, so if he asked it he's clearly a beginner when it comes to Linux.
Have you ever used Linux before? Cause it's not the same as Windows, and you probably won't be able to run many games on it (if any), though I've seen people around here who were able to run LFS on Ubuntu using Wine (with so-so results, not everything would work properly).
arox: you, sir, ARE that stupid. Check the LFS World hotlap charts, click the Fern Bay pic, and you'll clearly see FE5=Rallycross, FE6=Rallycross Green. End of story. Now let's all stop posting spam.
Yes, IRQL_Not_less_or_equal usually indicates hardware failure or a bad driver, but the precise cause is very hard to find, you'd have to take all the hardware out of your computer and put it back in piece by piece and run LFS after putting in every piece to find what's causing the problem.
That card will give you a huge performance boost, yes. But that's as far as you can take it, it is (and will likely be) the last (and best) AGP card ever made. (why does the thread title say 3650?)
We have way too many threads about the speed of LFS development, we don't need any more, thanks. And there is no recovery from STDs, so I don't find your post funny at all, now "take yourself outside".
Nice video. I think the tires don't have enough grip when they're COLD, and you can't even call them tires when they're HOT, maybe call them tires drenched in oil. How about making a video comparing LFS to real life? That would actually give a more accurate comparison of what LFS SHOULD be like, cause comparing LFS to itself doesn't really give us much to compare to, since we all know the shortcomings of LFS.
That's absolutely not true, I've had to switch my PSU every 2 years, granted they weren't top of the line PSUs, just generic ones, but still they couldn't take more than 2 years before they would start making noises, then finally give up. This is on a low-end PC not a high-end PC, the PSUs had more than enough power to power the system, they just weren't built for longevity.
I just stopped in for a few races tonight, and I had a lot of fun. Clean racing all around, very friendly people in there, and overall a lot of fun. I like racing the slower cars, XRG most of all, and I like that the server runs S2 tracks as well, the old CTRA server never ran S2 tracks for the slower cars, it was only S1 tracks. I might just get back into LFS now! Thanks for the great server [SR]!
