Which one is it, the 510 or 515? I doubt you can upgrade that thing, I'm betting it's just like a laptop on the inside, where everything is connected to everything else.

But now we're talking about the 9800GT, which was not part of what you said first. You said the 9600GT is faster than the 4830, which is simply not true. I don't care to compare the 9800GT to the 4830, they give similar performance numbers, it all depends on who reviewed them...

The Radeon 4830 is faster than the 9800GT, and thus significantly faster than the 9600GT .

I used these tools to speed up (read: unlock the potential of) my network connection. And yes, I'm using onboard network cards, but their performance is only limited by Windows, they don't have hardware limitations.

Download and run the TCP/IP optimizer and the TCP/IP slowdown fix. For the optimizer, just set the connection speed to your modem's speed (mine is 7 Mbps) and click the "optimized" radio button at the button, apply and restart. For the other it simply unlocks the Windows-set MTU limit of 10 and you can change it to a really high number, something around 16,000,000.
These two tools greatly sped up my networking speeds, but you have to run them on all the computers in your house to achieve high speeds between all of them.

I have no idea what the postage would be, it might not be worth it to ship it from here though as shipping might cost as much as the card itself lol. You can't find that card in the UK? Have you tried ebay?

But I do understand now why you've been away for so long, I've also moved houses about 3 years ago and I know first-hand how much "stuff" can accumulate in a house and how long it takes to clean that stuff out, decide what to do with it (keep it or throw it away), and actually moving it over to the new house. The whole process took weeks for us, so this is not surprising at all. However, we did not have the problems you had when it came to phone and internet service, they were both installed the day after we called them. Good luck with your new house!

My FPS was the same in XP and 7. You have to remember that video card drivers for Windows 7 are still in beta stage at best, so you can't expect the performance to be on par with XP just yet. But I can bet you, when Windows 7 goes gold, it will have better performance than XP.
Why don't you run CPU-Z and find out? BTW a T5500 is a Core 2 Duo. As Jakg said, Centrino is just a combination of technologies and nothing more. It does not describe a single component in the computer, just that the computer as a whole meets a certain standard specified by Intel.

I have a blu-ray player (not a writer though) in my computer, and it works fine with powerdvd 8, and with my monitor connected through a regular DVI cable. Hope that helps.
