Sobis, could you provide more information? Does the following message appear ingame: "ClaViCo InSim Connected"?

If so are you connecting to a LFS dedi online or offline?

It's good fun to go on safari trips with the UF1 out of bounds

Quote :Would be even nicer if it would work on servers that use master server.

It does work online. However you have to make sure your host allows the InSim to work. There might be firewall restrictions concerning the InSim port. ClaViCo AP has been on for a few days on my testserver without any problems. I did have to add some inbound & outbound rules in the firewall. Your own firewall might also crash the party so these have to be taken into account. Single player support is on my todos list to make it a more accessible for novices.

Quote :could some one write me a list of instructions how to get it working please?

1. Download LFS dedi & extract its content
2. Find the setup.cfg file, open it and modify the following:
• replace //pass=password by /pass=password
• replace //insim=29999 by /insim=29999
• replace //ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx by /ip=127.0.0.1
• replace /mode=demo by /mode=S2
• replace /usemaster=yes by /usemaster=no
3. Save setup.cfg
4. Launch LFS dedi & ClaViCo AP
5. Launch LFS -> multiplayer -> join specific host -> local network and fill in these parameters:
• Host IP address: 127.0.0.1
• Host port: 63392
• Host password: password
6. Click go and once ingame do shift + i

This should work.

A wild guess is that your host's firewall is blocking it.

Quote :Ok I have a problem maybe easier to do this over TS3 or MSN

At the moment ClaViCo AP won't work in single player mode. The explanation is rather lengthy but it should work in the next version I will release. As for now you will have to setup ClaViCo AP in conjunction with LFS dedi (either locally or online).

If you can't make it work you can always try it out on my private server:

If your object is placed out of bounds you can adjust the altitude from -80 (-20 metres) to 127 (31.75 metres). In this tool the value represented in blue is the altitude of your object, the value next to it in black is the current altitude of your car.

is "port" insim port?

Quote :Can you adjust the Y values of objects?

Could you be more specific please? What are you trying to achieve? If you mean the X and Y coordinates sent by the IS_MCI packet, those are adjusted automatically.

Quote :Great application, thanks for releasing it

for some reason I can't get floating objects, they always stay on ground

I'm glad you like it "Floating objects" or adjusting the objects height can only be done effectively out of bounds. With out of bounds I mean areas where you can't add an object with the standard LFS Autocross Editor.

Quote :This may sound like a stupid question but, I have no experience with PHP and I would love to be able to place ramps inside one another to create some layouts. Question therefore being, how do you do this and what program is required to make it work?

With the following tool you can place any Autocross Object inside one another: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=77749

I forgot to mention that you will have to use it in conjunction with LFS dedi.

ClaViCo Autocross Plugin

A few months ago LFS 0.6B was released featuring new InSim packets. One of those (IS_AXM) quickly caught my eye. Thanks to the free view mode it became clear to me something interesting could be developed. As a result I wrote a small plugin: ClaViCo AP. The main goal of this tool is to expand the layout "building" possibilities. ClaViCo AP features a particular way you add Autocross Objects. With this tool "painstaking" patterns are easely made within a minute. You no longer have to add each object individually because you can quickly build patterns. Furthermore 2 limitations are lifted thanks to the IS_AXM packet. Firstly the objects can now intersect with each others. Secondly it is now possible to add objects out of bounds. Something which is not possible with the standard LFS autocross editor. I could go on and on describing each feature but to prevent the adrenaline seeking youth of our days to fall into boredom I let you take a look at the screenshots attached below.

Please note that ClaViCo AP is currently in the Alpha stage. I count on you guys to report any anomalies. A comprehensive tutorial might be written if there is any interest in this plugin.

Any pertinent feedback is duly appreciated. Have fun

NOTE:
------
• You will have to install .NET framework 4.0 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us ... oad/details.aspx?id=17851)
• ClaViCo AP only works with LFS dedi, single player is not supported
• ClaViCo AP V1 is no longer supported

If you mean those "roads" up in the air, I made those but it's still work in progress. I might share the plugin when it's debugged and easy to use. You can try it out on my private server if you wish to. I'm still hesitating to share it publicly though.

Fun layout I'm curious though, which value did you use for the ramp2 width?

Quote :Unfortunately, there isn't a wall which is higher than the ramp height, so there are not outside walls

Have you considered moving the ramps closer to the outsides? The "invisible wall" would close the gap making racing less risky.

Quote :Even the height cannot be adjustable, I don't know why.

The altitude of objects is defined by Z and can be adjusted:

(copied from the LYT.txt file)

Quote :NOTE3 :

About Zchar, the approximate altitude :

LFS does contact checks to place objects accurately on the ground.

For output purposes : Zchar indicates the approximate altitude with
a value from -80 (-20 metres) to 127 (31.75 metres).

For input purposes : The ground check is performed with a test ray
starting from 2 metres above Zchar. Using a value lower than 127
allows objects to be placed on the road below a bridge, for example.
If you are creating objects from scratch and you are not sure of the
approximate altitude, you can set Zchar to its maximum value (127).
This will usually work unless there is a physical surface above the
road where you are trying to place the object.

You can have a considerable amount of fun playing with the altitude of objects out of bounds. Hereby attached is a small layout I made to show you some variations in altitude.

Quote :How is it possible ? With a little hex editing and probably lots of patience.

To avoid any confusion, this layout was made with the help of an InSim plugin I wrote recently. It works purely thanks to the IS_AXM InSim packet Scawen implemented a few months ago. There is no hex editing involved at all.

I might share this plugin once it's fully debugged and stable. The main asset of this plugin is the ability to make patterns. In other terms you don't have to add the objects individually.

EDIT:
I attached a small replay to show you one way you can have fun with the IS_AXM InSim packet

Autocross Editor Bug?

The improved Autocross Editor worked like a charm in 0.6A1.

However I'm experiencing an anomaly in 0.6A2, when you select several objects with the ctrl key pressed down the objects you selected dissapear once you alter their heading. (also happens using the heading hotkeys)
Thank you Scavier !

Dear LFS fanboys (& naughty trolls),

I have noticed far to much trolling and nonconstructive comments about LFS lately. Therefore I wish to express my gratitude to ScaViEr for the tremendous achievement they realised.

In my opinion LFS is a marvel and always will be. Even though I have already driven +100.000km on LFS servers I'm still exploring and enjoying the neat features Z28 has to offer. I count on the LFS fanboys to take the initiative to thank the LFS Devs, I'm sure they will appreciate it In the mean time I will continue having fun on the Z28 servers (and prepare my anti-troll machine just in case :razz.

King regards,
