kosmos you have no idea what your talking about have dont even know it. drifting has nothing to do with finishing first. the only thing a finishing line does in drifting is end the run so someone else can go or the tandem will switch leaders. it has nothing to do with finishing first ever in any competition its only about style, angle, line, speed, clipping points, and of course the judges like to see smoke but they dont judge based on that because some cars just dont make that much smoke like the 86s. and your stupid thing about drift cars setting up so they can only go fast sideways is just retarded man. who the hell told you these things. i have videos of drift cars gripping for the first few laps and sometimes even when its wet! they can still grip. go do a whole bunch of research before you try to sound so sure of yourself man.

greboth - your not supposed to use the start location... i dont use start locations for a reason on my layouts. and thats so people can pit all at once. dont have to do it one by one and only every 6 seconds. that gets really annoying really fast. all you gotta do is pit and your inside the track.

i believe a while ago (20-30+ years) drifting used to be the fastest way through most turns. now that cars have incredible suspension gripping is way faster... drifting has nothing to do with racing and is only maybe faster through a tight hairpin now. people who say drifting is fast are stupid people who still play on demo. those guys all forget what drifting is all about. drifting is about very precise control and angles and style. speed isn't that big of a deal as long as you don't lose it all and maintain a steady pace. i'm sure i'll get flamed for saying this but i think i can speak for quite a few other people when i say that perfect drifting takes more skill than perfect racing. perfect drifting has yet to be seen. it's a very very complex way to drive that most people overlook. if you don't appreciate drifting then whatever you aren't the first person. but don't ever come on here and say it's stupid or whatever else you have to say just because you have no idea how to do it. if you even knew half of the difficulty it takes to drift you would at least appreciate it for what it is. i'm not saying you'll love it and want to do it but you'll at least appreciate it. drifting involves lines just like racing does but instead of just a line you have to have the right angle too. this can make things much more tricky. if you wanna know what drifting really is i'd be happy to send you some good videos of real life drifting on msn as long as you keep the queerness to a minimum.

traffic lights would go great in my drift city.

i think extra long barriers that aren't red/white would be good. just long white ones or something. people complain that all the red white red white red white makes them feel sick lol.

ya the fact that interupting a race is why you would be able to either do x amount of minutes (probably mainly for drifters or just fun mess around layouts) and then x amount of races completed for those who like to race. i think it would be cool.

ya this was my very first "touge" style track i made. i've made a few more realistic touges with lanes and less walls. you go up the track in one lane hit the hairpin then go back in the other lane. when people wanna battle everyone else spectates but the 2 drivers so they can use both lanes safely. it's a lot of fun. but i think i'm done putting my layouts up here. i feel like i'm being robbed lol.

hey i was just wondering if anyone liked the idea of being able to set up a list of tracks and a time limit and the server would automatically switch to the next track after the time limit is up. this might not be good for racers but i don't know for sure that's why i'm asking. i've made a lot of layouts and i think it'd be cool if i could do this while i'm not at the computer.

maybe you could select the option of x amount of minutes or x amount of races to change the track?

here's a replay from a track i made that me and my friends really like to grip and drift on with pretty much all cars. it's a very intense track and lots of fun. here is a replay of first a drift lap and then a grip lap. definitely not my best laps but you can still see how the track is and how fun it is. and as you can see there's literally no room for errors at all and it's very fun. im posting this replay first to get some feedback on it to see if anyone would even be interested because my other layouts i posted got no feedback so it seems people weren't interested at all.

for those who don't know how to watch a replay you just download it and put it into your mpr folder. then go watch it. hope you guys like it..

hey i made a fun little drift park which has been made to look like a city with lanes, roundabouts, road splits, etc. if you liek the idea of street drifting or just want a fun drift park to learn on then give it a shot. everyone seemed to enjoy it so im putting it up for download.

well i know making layouts for the autocross area and modifying tracks isnt exactly as hard as making my own track from scratch but ive made about 15 good ones in the past week. i find it fun making tracks and would only look forward to using a full track maker to make my own track from scratch. maybe the time consuming process would turn others away from doing it. maybe not as many tracks would be made as we are thinking. or maybe people would half ass their tracks and just make a whole bunch of bad ones. but if people made bad ones then no one would play on them anyways... i dunno i hope something works out so we can have the track maker...

you guys are making this into such a huge deal. getting into huge companys and buying a liscense to make tracks? come on this is getting stupid. all i wanted to do was make a track for me and my friends or anyone else who wants to drive on it.

it seems this idea will never work out since everyone wants to make tracks. the only way i can imagine it working is if each account was only allowed 1 track. if you wanted to make another track you'd have to clear the track you have now and make a new one... but even then.. even if everyone was only allowed 1 track that could still be hundreds or thousands of new tracks. =/

i'm not sure if it'd make racing more fun but i'm positive drifters would like it.

i'm sure lots of ppl would still play the other tracks... making new tracks would just be for when your a little bored of the ones provided. if everyone were to go off and start making tracks then ya that might cause a bit of a problem... i'm not sure how it'd effect the game exactly...

i think it would be really cool if we could play in the dark with lights on the cars. the evening weather isn't even close to as dark as night.

i'm not sure how unreasonable this idea is because i'm sure it would be a hard thing to make but how about a full track maker? you can select a plot size, elevation changes, road, dirt, etc. you would be able to place anything to make a fully customized track. about a week ago i really got into making autocross tracks and this is something ive been dreaming about. the autocross and carpark are just not big enough to make fun tracks. the object limit also tends to get in the way. i'm not even sure if it would be possible since the servers lag with only 512 objects... if there was an entire track with scenery and everything i don't know if it would even be playable. not sure how impossible this would be but it would be GREAT!
