Thanx Corny for inviting IRM to this GREAT event Really admire all the effort all you admins put in to this event to make it as good as it was!
Lessons learned for me is that always carry 2 laps of fuel when you enter pit lane. Speeded at the entrance and when i tryed the pit nothing happened .. realized i had to serve my drive throu and pit again on total 0.5% fuel ... managed to make 2 laps and roll into first pit square, but race was ruined, costed me 4 laps
Well, in spite of that I had lots of fun so I'm looking forward to the next NASCAR event, the most FUN races at LFS at the moment for sure
You bet!
I will practice the switch tomorrow and have a written schedule on the dashboard on every step to make to go from Q on GT3 to Race on Ky400 ... wonder who in IRM decided I should be the victim for this suicide exercise
Not NASCAR, then u have to go to the open wheelers leagues like Indy or bike leagues ... way more dangerous nowadays than Nascar for sure.
Our Swedish great driver Kenny Bräck was lucky ... Dan Weldon was not, but the incidents where very simular but the outcome so tragically different ...
Well, then those drivers are more skilled than the IRL NASCAR drivers
Not sure, but I don't think I've seen a NSC race cautionfree in 60 laps ... don't think the fans would enjoy that ;-)
Well, your words are really worth reading, maybe it should be placed at the very beginning of this tread
3 of us in IRM are attending the KY400 on the same day as the GT3 Quali is, but I'm planning to manage to do some Q-laps before I have to join the KY400 server for the NASCAR event start.
Team name: Independent Racing Mates
Number: 23
Car: FZ3
Drivers:
Mats Sjöblom, sjoblom, Sweden
Bertil Holmberg, Cawwa, Sweden
Hans Melin, nobreaks11, Sweden
Me to!
Will sure stay out of trouble in first laps (stay low, stay low, stay low ....) Just wanna thanks my wife for this, since she decided we should attend a dinner party instead me attending the Q session, which lead to Corny putting me in the last row at start
C U all next weekend in a great event
Thanx Corny for letting me in the race due to not being in the Q session (wife decided we should be social and attending a dinner party
I be on the last row at the race start for sure, no matter what wife has planned
I hope its ok that me a teammate post it, just got his car out of the paint shop and I sure don't want Hasse to miss this event due to late post of skin
No problems Corny
We had some great practise after the run, and Holmberg managed to push me to victory over "The Saint" once
Also wants to thank nr 20 for GREAT push, feel free to repeat that at the race day
he he, my son decided to do some configuration changes on our router 5 min ahead of the session (was some problems with the wireless part), so I ended up with no connection at all
Well, its all solved now so I'm back in business again
I'll be there
Btw I have posted a thread about this event on the Swedish LFS community forum. There are some really good drivers hanging around that site, so hopefully we get some more applications from Sweden
Was on the server just to do some laps ... then suddenly it was a session to be started. Wasnt prerpared at all, and no practise with pitstops so it was more a lerning session for me
Will be back next session with some descent pitstops, and correct amount of fuel at quali
Btw IRM cars are in the paintshop but it will take some more days fot them to dry, so I use my old car from NDR KY120 last year, with nr 44 as usual
THANX NDR for a FUN and GREAT event
These NASCAR events are the the most FUN events on LFS at the moment
Since I'm a NASCAR Rookie with rookie stripes on my rear bumper (car #44), main approach was to stay out of trouble, succeeded fairly good I think! I can recall one mistake when I after a restart(?) missed a car on my right side and had a slight contact. Sorry for that whoever it was, but I recall I was the one suffering the most from it
Special thanks to my 2 faithful pushers, #23 J.Dohnalík and #991 S. Martin. When car #23 pushed me I didn't feel it, was just amazing, just driving and holding the line as usual ... sorry that I left you behind, but i couldn't connect to you again when you lost me ...
991 took me to place 14 after that, also a great pusher ... don't think we should have made that switch thou on the lap before the last one, since we lost to much momentum on it, and that 3-car train approaching. I fully understand that you wanted to be ahead of me at the checker flag, but I had already planned to let you pass me before the finish
Once again, GREAT and FUN event.
More of this stuff please
Less than 30% af the drivers showed up at today's quali events ... really bad respect for the race organisation imo!
Should be just common sense to to notify Deko if you are not about to anticipate! Really can't understand this ignorance to people putting a lot of their free time to make these great events come true!
Thanx Deko and all u other guys in NDR for arranging these LFS Nascar events
Heat 4, already 2 safety cars on 8 cars driving ... how will it be with full grid
EDIT: Now its 3 safety cars .. some drivers might run out of fuel ;-)
R. Kööts, we (car 23) moved aside to let u pass and u just pushed us away! Why?
Just because you are the leader it doesn't give u the right to mangle blueflagged cars ... :detective
