Summary.
All rules below boils down to one rule:
Race your competitors hard and fair, but drive in the same way as if you were driving a race car IRL. We want ALL our drivers to return safe and unhurt to their families at home after the race event!
Follow that simple rule, and we will all have a great race event!
Have FUN :-)
Race Administration Torsdagsrejset
Requirements.
It is expected that you have trained at the track before so you will not be completely unprepared for this race. It is also expected that you drive in a fair manner, use common sense and respect all the other drivers on the track.
Registration.
Registration for the Thursday race closes one hour before qualifying begins. After that you can still register for the race, but you can not expect that you will get the password for the race. Registration is personal, which means that you only sign up for yourself. You are not allowed to give out the password to someone else who is not registered.
- Register to each race by filling in
this formula!
- Here you can
see who is attending races in current season!
Common qualify.
Unless otherwise noted, this is the qualifying procedure:
• As a driver you will choose the server you prefer to qualify on, A or B (preferably the lowest number of connected drivers).
• You may drive as many laps you want / have time for as long as the qualifying session is in progress.
• During qualifying, you can press "shift-i" to see the current qualifying results in a special qualifying table. If posted, you may need to switch server after qualifying. The special results table tells you where to go.
• All setup changes, tire changes and refuelling must be done in the pit box, it is not allowed to go into the garage (shift-P) to change your setup.
• Always check the right, left, rear view mirrors and a "mini-map" when you leave the depot.
• When you're out of your qualifying lap, yield for drivers still on hotlap.
• If you wreck your so bad that it gets impossible to drive, you must go to spectate mode (shift-s) or into the garage (shift-P). Your qualification is then over. It is not allowed to rejoin with a new car and continue to qualify.
• Protests from the qualifiers are handled the same way as the protests at the race.
Super-Pole Qualifying.
When qualifying with the Super-Pole, you have only one attempt to make your qualifying time. While making your qualifying lap, you are all alone on the track. We normally use the Super-Pole when we want a little bit more exciting and nervous qualifying, seems everyone else looks at you when you do your hotlap qualify!
This is how Super-Pole works:
• When the qualifying session begins, all drivers must leave the track and become spectators (shift-s).
• An admin will call up one driver at a time. Join the race when you hear/read your name. (Shift-j).
• Leave the pit immediately and begin your outlap.
• After your outlap is done, proceed immediately to your "hotlap". This hotlap will set your qualify time.
• Once you finish your hotlap, leave the track in a safe way asap (shift-s).
• It is not allowed to zigzag back and forth to warm the tires.
• You only get one try. You may not restart your quali even if you have an accident during the outlap or the qualifying lap.
• Race Admins will call you only once. If you don't respond, you have missed your qualification and must start at the back of the field.
Lag start.
Lag start is not present in the TR.
Restarts.
There will be no race restart no matter what! Whether half the field crashes, someone is asleep at the grid or if someone looses their connection.
Overtaking.
It is always the upcoming car's responsibility to ensure that no contact is made. If you must pass a car through a curve, you must be in level with the other car. Inserting your front at the height of the rear wheels of the car ahead is not acceptable.
When two cars get side by side, both drivers are expected to show full respect and leave enough room for each other.
Defensive driving.
Defensive driving means that you as the car ahead, has the right to defend your position for overtaking cars, e.g. by blocking. A blocking means that you are permitted to leave your racing line once and then return to it. This action can only be done once on every straight.
Pit stop.
Pitstop can be enforced at some races with a "Pitstop window "function".
This means that pitstop must be made between a number of laps in race. E.g. a race is 26 laps and at least one pitstop has to be done between lap 15-20. You can do more pitstop at any time if you must do extra service on your car.
Every race announcement will tell you if pitstop is mandatory.
You may not cross the yellow line when driving OUT from the pit depot.
Yellow flag
A yellow flag means that something has happened in front of you, a car may be standing on or off the track. It is not an offence to make an overtaking during a yellow flag, but you must be careful not causing any incident. If you cause an incident under a yellow flag, it might be punished very hard. If you dirve your car off track, you must give way to the cars that still reside on track while rejoining the track.
Blue Flag
A blue flag indicates that you are about to be overlapped. It is your responsibility to respond to this by as soon as possible let the upcoming car pass you in a safe way. E.g. lower the speed on a straight or take the outer track in a bend. You do not have to run off the track, but you should let the upcoming car pass you within three curves (if it's close enough to pass). The upcoming car is responsible for overtaking you in a safe manner. Note that it is not allowed to use the blue flag favour to overtake when you're not the car that is lapping the other car.
Shortcuts.
Always have at least two wheels on the track (kurbs and "green concrete areas" are counted as part of the track). If you have more than 2 wheels off the track, this will be considered as taking a shortcut, and punished hereby.
Reset / Telepit / Midrace Join
The server is set up with "no car reset". E.g. if you get stuck on the roof, the only option available is to press Shift + P and go to spectate mode. It is not allowed to teleport to the depot and rejoin race.
If you disconnect during the race or your computer crashes for some reason, it's OK to reconnect to our LFS-server and rejoin the race. But all laps before the disconnect will not be counted. You restart the race from lap 1 again, when rejoining in this way.
You can't join the race after it has started. (Ask for permission in chat and an Admin
might give you permission
Stay alert during race. Remember to check mirrors and "minimap" frequently. If you drive out off the track, make sure the track area is clear before you rejoin race track.
Chat
"Conversation" Chat is only allowed outside Qualifying and Race time.
Short comments like smiley's, sorrows and cheers are allowed during Quali and Race.
Pls respect this, so we will have as many drivers as possible keeping there chat open during the whole event.
Protests / Penalties
If you have observed or been exposed to any violations, you can file a protest to the Race Staff. Send a formal pm to one of the Race Administrators with this mandatory facts:
• When did it happen? (LFS race time + lap)
• Where did it happen? (Turn no),
• Who did what? (Short description of the event)
Protest not fulfilling these basic demands will not be expedited!
After a complaint, admins will discuss and evaluate the incident described. Penalties can be obtained in a range from a warning to a season ban. Deduction of points, "30 sec penalty", starting last in the next race is examples of other kind punishment you can get, it all depends on the seriousness of the rule violation.
Here are some guidelines for punishments handed out:
1. At unsportsmanlike behaviour it's the organizers' right to determine the appropriate punishment.
E.g. :
- Honking and other disruptive behaviour during qualifying and race.
- Run into other cars on purpose during qualifying and race.
- Overtaking a blue flagged car while on the same lap as the blue flagged car.
- Nasty epithets in event chat and event forum. All disagreements should be settled by filing a protest to Race Admins. Arguing in the chat after race is considered as a serious offence and may lead to serious punishment. We want our events to be nice and friendly.
2. Incidents such as "did not follow the flag rules" or "run over the pit exit line".
Penalty = 10 points deduction.
3. Incident between two cars and one car "suffering".
The "suffering" car makes it to goal. Considered as a minor incident.
Penalty = 20 points deduction.
A good idea might be to wait for the "suffering" car and let him pass you ... he might not file a protest against you then
4. Incident between two cars where the "suffering" car has to break the race (DNF).
Considered to be more serious.
Penalty = 30 points deduction.
5. Violating race rules.
Penalty = 30 points deduction.
For example:
- Not following the "Pit window" rule.
- Not fulfilling mandatory pit service.
- Any violation is punished separately.
6. Major incident with large amount of cars involved.
Penalty = 50 points deduction.
