But its true that LFS is cpu limited, i know because i went from 1.6ghz to 950mhz on same computer and the difference in FPS on LFS is huge, before i could get 33-36 at some parts, now it doesnt go any further than 22 while playing, well it have been 4 years of LFS with AWFUL fps and Snes graphics lol.

Congratulations dude, everything seems nice but at least get a offboard GFX like mines hehe, it will make big difference, if not possible get

I dont like Nvidia prices, just like intel's, amd and ati is usually better buy thought for mid end customers, i had to go nvidia this time with the 8600gt (was pretty cheap,cheaper than a x1650 for example) since ATI did not have a proper competitor, if it id i would have bought ATI hehe...

New rigg will be 4200 athlon x2, asus m2n sli, huntkey 450w p. supply, 8600gt(???) 2gb DDR2 kingston 667mhz, same crappy HD for a while.

Actually, here in the jungle, the 8600gt costs 499, the 7900gs price is 620,and the x1950Pro is 699, 7600gt is 440, soo thats why i think the 8600GT is a good deal, since my budget limit is close to 600 and thats it not a cent more.

I dont want to run any game not even LFS close to max settings, i just want it to RUN (wich my current computer does not) with 60+ fps at least no matter the quality at any resolution above 640x480 and below 1280, (no AA and no AF crap i never used it anyway) i just want to play these new games.

Wich one should i buy, they are on same price here, 7600gt too,

Well you guys said it all allready, my vote goes to 1024 too as minimum resolution, maybe if you could go with 2 version of the website, one widescreen, and the other regular 1024 one, with the viewer being able to choose on intro screen the version he wants, i don't think its that much work, im studying to be professional "webdesigner" as an overall graphic designer and programmer, my contact is [email protected] case someone want some help developing something.

You people are indeed rich...ive seen guy giving dfp, now a sweet videocard, i use a geforce2, but i still wouldnt want something given by someone i dont even know.

I think the game needs its atmosphere back, if you play GTA like nuts since the very first one you will get my point.

Hm, theres nothing about cheating with flatshifting on races, and regular roadcars as far as i know, like the XRT on LFS, since its low powered and the clutch is not soo sharp as race car ones i think, but i dont recomend it on long races if you want your tranny to last, i also think its nearly useless if your engine doesnt have much turbo lag, or an old lazy engine that doesnt rev well but has lots of inertia, well you doesnt really need to full flatshifting in those cases, just holding the rpm while changing gears and step back on the gas the early as possible after change gear, like bit before dumping clutch, well wathever!
