Quote from Paranoid Android :There is an option just before getting the list of servers: Window while connecting or something.Switch it to off!

Okay I'm a dumbass, hadn't played LFS in quite a while and thought it was the patch that changed that behavior, but I simply forgot I had switched it off before

How can I prevent LFS from going into window mode when connecting the the multiplayer lobby? My card doesn't like it when LFS does that, it switches off FSAA. Even if I alt + tab out it does it.

Not bad. Only a few impossible angles, but the ones you did were okay. Liked the in/on car cameras that lasted more than a few seconds. And overall it was pretty devoid of quick cuts which IMO is a hack when used alot (same with impossible camera angles). The framerate in some spots was very low though.

Quote from Hankstar :Mainstream news, that's cool. Though I'm surprised they didn't have Bill O'Reilly (professional twat for those who don't know who he is) come on and start screaming about how online racing with foreigners from "Old Europe" is an anti-American terrorist freedom-hating activity and that all sim-racers should be monitored 24/7 - yes, even in the bathroom - for national security reasons

You mean...I can race online....while sitting on the toilet? Why hasn't anyone told me this?!illepall

Thermal pads actualy work pretty decently and are almost completely idiot proof. Paste only works better when you get the application just right. Which can be a huge pain in the ass for a noob.

I can't say it was all that great, nice high res footage, but most of it is impossible flying camera footage which is pretty boring unless used specificaly for dramatic effect instead of just willy nilly.

Quote from Jakg :yes, but if you have the resolution its 4 time smaller file, thus 4 times less disk activity, making it do it alot quicker surely?

Not neccessarily. If you have a SATA drive you should be able to record full size 1024 atleast with no problems, I've done it(I remember I could record at 30fps atleast, no problem). Before that I was playing around with 1280 at half size recording (640) and it chugged at less than 15 fps. It all depends on what the bottleneck on your system is, and at what fps you are recording at. I've got an Athlon XP 3000+, and was recording to a SATA drive.

Record at full size. When you record at half size it has to do alot more calculations to scale each frame down.

I don't mean this in a mean way, but what makes this better than youtube or google video?

Quote from MAGGOT :That is the reason I refuse to even try GTR2. Why do you need copy protection on a demo anyways?

Its because the demo is verys imilar to the game. If the crackers can see the game without the copy protection present, it gives them a big advantage in cracking the retail version when it is released (or even before its released). Copy protection isn't there to completely eleminate piracy, its main purpose is to stall crackers so it isn't cracked in the games primetime immediatly after release.

Starforce sucks though.

What in the world are those things supposed to do?

Yeah you can't really notice change in wear untill you really get some decent wear on it.

The color of the lines that represent the tread of the virtual tire indicates the tempurature of that section of tread. The thickness of those same lines indicates the wear.

Quote from Honey :if you read my posts or even just one of them you will see that i already doen the tests you suggest, how funny that everyone's says i'm wrong but nobody dare to take some test and discuss about the results, moreover none seems to take care of the real screenshots posted above, all real picture show evidently even at the most first view, how the lfs deformation is wrong -> causing huge phisic unrealism.

The thing is, all these pretty pictures do not tell you how much air pressure the tires have, how fast the car is going, how many G's it is pulling, and etc. There just isn't enough information in them to say one way or the other.

Quote from Belila :Actually, the crumbling of the nose and wing is unrealistic if you wanna go into details. Both parts are made of carbon fiber so if they hit something, they should shatter into a million pieces

Btw, they aero physics on the BF1 dosent completely impress me. Driving around with a half-broken front wing, I could still do similar laptimes

Currently, body damage has no effect on drag or downforce at all.

Quote from joeynuggetz :Plus, ever notice how much ram firefox eats up with tons of tabs open? Right now, my firefox is chewing away at 83MB of RAM. Might not be much when you have 2GBs, but still.

Thats not really a problem. While its in the background it should get pushed to swap if the game needs the ram its taking up.

Yeah Firefox causes lots of stutter problems in games for me. Mainly because I have all sorts of extensions that run at periodic intervals, like forcastfox or page update checker.

Ugh, thats kind of annoying, a password i've never used before. I usualy make a new one after a patch because there is no way to retreive the game password :\ I dunno why i changed it from my first password that I could always remember...

Giving that a try...

EDIT: yup that worked! Thanks Now to rememeber this new password.

Can't unlock new patch

I first tried to unlock after installing the patch,a nd I wasn't sure if I remembered my password correctly, it kept telling my the gamepassword didn't match. So I went to the website and now I STILL can't unlock, it is still telling me the game password does not match. But I know I am definitely entering the correct password

Ugh, I can't unlock. It keeps saying game password does not match. But i've gone and set a new gamepassword so I KNOW i'm entering the right one, but it still denies me. What the heck?

There's already 'millions' of setups on LFSW. Each replay contains the setup. All thats needed is a way to flag a replay's setup info as 'not secret'.

Quote from Vain :In your first sketch you forgot that the tyre is not floating in the air, but standing on the ground. That means, while the air can "easily" pass on the upper side, it's easiest way is blocked by the tarmac on the lower side. That means on the lower side there is more resistance, because the air has to flow to the sides. This raised resistance results in a raised pressure and a raised force that is bigger than on the upper side of the tyre.
Imagin it this way: A particle on the upper side of the tyre collides with the tyre and floats along it's surface until it reached the topmost point where it flies way. On the lower side the air particle collides with the tyre, flows along it's surface towards the tarmac, reaches the point where the tyre meets the tarmac and is trapped there, with the tyre rolling into it's direction. This is where the air particle says to the tyre "go away!" and creates a force that is bigger than on the upper side of the tyre.

I can't make a sketch of it because I'm on my laptop with no mouse. And you don't want a touchpad-sketch.

Vain

Also, the wheel would be spinning. Though, I beleive the spinning would cause downforce IF it was suspended in air (like throwing a baseball that sinks downward faster than expected). How the ground affects that I don't know.
