Thanks for the help

Sometimes, I am asking tiny little things about stuff, but iRacing only takes raw money, so I am better thinking before doing

That means I better advance fast to D(I saw it's split into Road an Oval ranking?) so it could also benefit me at least a little.

And D hopefully has several races and series you can enter with basic cars.

Quote from Klaus T Maus :The sim, one track and one car requires about 400 MB space. But, is your laptop capable to run iRacing? (CPU, GPU, RAM)

Don't you rather wanted to say 4GB?

My laptop:

Axxiv Ferm:
Model: Pentium Core
Classification: 5.7
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz 2.27GHz

Installed RAM: 4GB(2.96GB useable)
Systemtype: 32-Bit

Graphic card that is installed seems to be:

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650

94.5 GB left of 162GB on C.

Quote :You get a refund of 4$ for D/C-class series, 7$ for B/A-class series for participating in 8 of 12 race weeks of a season, max. 10$. Participation means one race and completing at least half of the laps of the winner. There is no refund for rookie races or fun series.

That means I am as Rookie won't be even D-class at the start, yes?

And 8 out of 12 race weeks of a season? Can that be 1 single race per week and complete it? It sounds like a championship it has to be to me.

Quote :There are several trial offers. At the moment, there are 3 months for 12$ or the Grand Prix promo which includes 3 months, the Williams, Zandvoort and Silverstone for 35$. In the latter, the price for the car and tracks is higher than the complete 3 month deal. It also allows you to participate (even as a rookie) in a Williams fun serie, which runs on these tracks + 2 tracks of the base content. Any of theses new customer promos can only be used once per account.

Hmm, interesting. Bit expensive with the Williams though. Where do I find that offer? I only see normal 3 months right now, is it a promo code or something(GP PROMO)? Last time, I saw the Star Mazdas on a 1 month deal I believe, also Zandvoort, but these have run out now I guess.

But thanks, very helpful post!

Quote from boothy :
In terms of download, it's much much bigger than LFS, in fact I've seen tracks which are bigger than LFS to download... but then again you won't buy everything at once and you only need to download when you want to drive the content.

Oh dear... Could that already kill me and my laptop?Just not sure if it's worth it when the game lags more than it's running fine. Also even if I only download certrain tracks, I still need space for it...

About the price and "re-fund" thing again: Do the cars&tracks cost more when you move up the ranks? For how long do you have them or is it different to the subscription to the whole game?

For the re-fund, it would also work if you did many single races against other Rookies for it to work? As long as you race often? Or are you required to hit a certain amount of kms/miles?

And if I play it, I really hope I can find a server where nice rookies are. Sadly, they aren't named after something like "NDR.something" or another trustful server in LFS where you know there are a lot of experianced people on.

Thanks again, also @ Ball Bearing Turbo for the answer

Hmm, no offline play So it's basically an COMG, a Complete Online Multiplayer Game. You can't quietly race for yourself and hide your driving style.

How big is the game when you download? Bigger or smaller data than LFS?

Quote from The Moose :Just be aware that once you get out of the Rookie series (which doesn't take long at all) the costs for new tracks for your first full series can be quite high.

Your best bet is to get one of the 1 or 3 month promos to begin with so you can see what its all about, whether you like it and to understand the costs involved before commiting to a years subscription.

So you have to be in a series to get money back? And the fee increases the better you are? I mean I'd first search for a server where cilvised and fair people play. I am probably rather playing around with it first, before going into any series or champs.

-> Do most championships have an entering fee, also Rookies?

Thanks for the help though, it's very useful to know beforehand.

Good to hear something's still going on.

About tyre model and CPU:

I hope it's not eating up much more, I don't know if my laptop will like that. When it comes to technical stuff, I am useless.

I am just a driver(sadly).

But it's good we got a report, thanks and merry christmas(Don't spend too much hours infront of the PC reading this and be with your family).

Quote from StableX :Charity Spa Event January 8th (with prizes!)

http://www.radicalsonline.com/ ... rity-Mixed-Class-Spa-Race

Would be great to see some LFS teams that also have iRacing to sign up too

Oh dear, if Huttu wins that, Towler will be mad But since it's for charity, he should gladly let Towler through

Yesterday, I watched Episode 6 and the dashboard iR introduced. I have to say it looks interesting.

But:

I don't quite understand. It's a downloadable game like LFS is, but you can join servers while being on the iRacing site on the net??

You can get money back for racing on servers, but how does that work? Do the free codes still work?

I can see you can change the skin and driver suit, but is it rather simple or you can you paint it like LFS with tools?

Maybe I should wish for some money to spend on iRacing tonight...

1 year is about 100$? And what happens if you pay for extension after the year ran out?

For what? You told me, but it took longer to be true so I thought you made a joke. I have to check pens again.

You know, someone who doesn't want Boothy to win and distracting us on TS, it's no wonder I don't believe it(well, Simon too:razz. We'll have to accept the Fordy how he is.

Coolio anyway.

Yeah, that was the most obvious.

Obvious too that I liked the show

Hint: The FBM skin pic is from a game.

The FXR one is from a manga with a gunfiring heroine.

Just wanna ask if someone read Hammer Session! up to Ch.14 on Mangafox. I quite like it. He may be a swindler, but a damn nice one

I think I have asked already: Anyone know a Manga with the Mazda 787B(767 up to 787 would be interesting too) in it?

I've tried, but neither éX-Driver nor Capeta mention the probably most successful Japanese racing car with one word(But the Tyrrell P34 gets a nice mention in Capeta though-.-). A shame, like Mazda NOT used the win to promote the RX-7.

It goes that far I also like the livery of the car a lot(Probably a reason I am attracted to the car that much, it looks like a patch pattern:razz.

But I'd get problems with Team Renesis, they use the pattern on all their cars

Not to mention I suck at doing skins...

I'd get away with the alternative one that was used in ALMS:

or

Finally, I present some skins I was running in circles. The iTCC ones were made by The Joker, thanks to him, the other two were done by me.

Cookie if you can guess the characters and series(One's very obvious too). As for the FXR_ERdavidITCC, it's just a random pic(Was deemed inappropriate by the iTCC officials and had to removed, later drove with the second ER skin):

But I agree on McLeod and Yapar... Gosh, you're lapped and it's the last lap too, stay out of the battle for god's sake!

Quote from zippytheone :I would just like to thank Boothy for helping us and driving for us this round. Definitely made a brilliant impact for us and if not for you, wouldve been much worse than 5th. Thanks to all that helped with the setup as well. We really appreciate it

Hopefully we can build on this and be even further up the grid in the coming races.

+Second that. Thank you Boothy, I nearly went like "WTF?" when I saw the updated rooster

Some nice flying cars there.

But some backmarkers weren't that great. For example the last push that maybe cost us a podium...

We'll put a sticker on the rear:

KEEP - YOUR - DISTANCE! lol

Quote from TFalke55 :I considered iRacing amongst others for this fact and ended up with the question: having enough bread for a month, or doing iRacing.

Quite the reason I am sticking to LFS: No thanx, I don't want to pay monthly. When I bought a license here, I bought it and pasta errr basta.

iRacing looks like a money machine to me.

As for the LFSCART car: Surely the F08? I hadn't got the chance to take part so far and really get a feeling of the car, but I am interested in the series.

If Indy specs or not, I don't really know, as long as it's drivable.

Calibration. It gets lost everytime I join a server. I can only re-plug it to solve that.

You know the feeling when the wheel is easily turnable and feels loose when it's not calibrated.

Hmm, actually never thought about putting it back in the box, I love it

...well yeah, unless I don't buy a G27, but damn, the G25 was expensive enough already...

Only thing bugging me is the constant unplugging when joining rF and LFS servers. Even without an update from Logitech, that doesn't change anything.

Nice that you say Ex-Epic Racing member, he was member of more than-Nevermind, no offence intended, I still miss ER.

Oi Oscar, you better do good(if you drive in GTAL). If not, I'm gonna wake you up with a knock-knock from behind!

Sad to see Martin go, I didn't really have time to race my Ex-teammate from GPRO

Best of luck E-T's
