i TBH dont really like the idea of rbr and rb2, merely because the point of the rb4 was a 4wd rally car, all that is lost with the rbr and rb2, as it is the rb2 would probably be in the tbo clas with the rb4 and the xrt so there would be no point, but if the devs like the idea, roll on rbr! also i wouldnt like it identical to the fxr
may i remind you lfs is still in testing, i say let scawen get the bits that make the driving realistic, then work on the minor details in a later patch
thanks for that darktimes, i never could have done it without you! ill try it after ive done my gcse photography work or my photography teacher will get bi*chy
EDIT: keeps bringing up "Could not write status to file" :s do i need to create the status.txt myself and where do i put it?
so what your saying is instead of using ftp to upload the .txt file, the php page gets the status then saves it to the .txt file and it can change it because it is on the server with the .txt file, would anyone be so kind as to possialy give me a few pointers or maybe give me a little bit of example code to try, i will also have to add a bit to stop people typing in the "query" url in the address bar and making the php page save their status.
choose a language then learn how to code it normally (outside of insim apps) then learn the basics of insims, i started on C# but maybe basic might be a better bet. You'll need a program to code, i recommend the microsoft visual studio (download link below). I'm sure someone else can explain everything in more detail though
could you give it the ftp details then make it mod the .php file? this may be a crude way of doing it :s
i still do not see any way of saving a .txt file to a server with out any passwords or anything, if this was possible surely every website would be very simple to get into
i guess you mean clock probably not an analogue clock but a digital clock would be ok, im sure there is a tag in C# to get the time from the computer the insimo is on, dont know if it is posible to get the time of the people who are connected though :s unless you gave them a setup menu which allowed them to choose GMT +1 or something
im a bit confused as to how the web page actually stores the web status :s
EDIT: i have a feeling you do not fully understand me, what i wanted was a bit in my insim that i can type "!serverstatus STATUS" then "STATUS" will show up on the php web page when ever anyone goes onto the web page
The only reason i really wanted to get into coding was that i am hoping to be an engineer, which would require me to code programs and software to control machines and other hardware, and it just so happens i have found out my dad knows how to code basic
aren't most online games done in java? e.g runescape then they are built into a webpage, i would love to make a really basic game, once my gcses are out of thg way i will get a coding book and follo some game making tutorial, home brew psp games are easier to make
speaking of which one of my close friends is off at uni learning game programming and has learnt java already and done a bit of basic, time to get him to make a runescape like game then vacuum all the money out the little kid's pockets
if you really want lfs to be a really good simulator for cars, why add bikes that can never ever ever be controlled like real life with only one steering axis. how bikes steer is you turn the front wheel to work as a gyroscope which causes the bike to lean then you steer into the corner. you also use a bit of body weight shifting, i definitely don't want bikes in lfs because it will stray the devs away from what lfs was originally made for, cars!
