I don't drive the LX's as much as I'd like to. I have the handling problems others seem to - too heavy right foot is my main problem - as a result I don't feel confident enough to go out & race with others (don't want to spoil their fun) - so don't... pity really.

Perhaps I should try a really heavy understeering set up & take it from there?

Some insurance statistics once showed certain car colours had higher accident rates... iirc red & black were above average whilst beige was below average.

However, it subsequently turned out that the stats were putting the cart before the horse & it was more a question of what colour was more likely to appeal to different types of driver - eg what 17yo is going to buy a beige car?

as they say 'there's lies, damn lies & statistics'

Anything that seems too good to be true usually is.

Favourite is one called kids (like childrens handwriting) - least favourite is bodoni - they made us use it at work for a couple of years & it looked pants...

I guess my most used is Arial (in spreadsheets or reports (work's standard)) or tahoma (in forms)

I've forgotten about worms. My gf (now wife) fell about laughing at "I'm gonna get you..."

I don't know that I'd come up with 10 cars in an all time wanted list. But lets try:

1. Lotus Esprit
2. E-Type Jaguar (probably a 2+2 so I'd fit in it)
3. Land Rover Defender (to go shopping)
4. 2 CV
5. MGB GT
6. Range Rover (Classic pre 94 shape)
7. Austin Seven (something properly old & built in Longbridge)
8. Mini Cooper (a real one)
9. A Bentley/Rolls of some description (probably from the 70's or 80's)
10. Ford Focus (got to have something to go to work in)

mmm, yes, that'd do it

Quote from axus :It affects the linearity of the steering wheel, as you turn it. Here is an explaination from Slartibartfast:

Wheel Turn Compensation range: 0.00 – 1.00
This is steering non-linearity. Lower number = more linear. This setting can be of vital importance. For one thing, how do you expect or want the car to act when turning the wheel to say, 11 o’clock overhand? Also, it’s important to experiment and fine tune while timing laps. Reading slip angle is very tough in sims. It’s possible to have a car and interface that feels terrific, but do not use the front tires to their full potential.

Axus

thanks for putting this up. For ages I've been wanting to race the rear wheel drive cars - but was finding them impossible to handle - going from lots of understeer to lots of oversteer very quickly. After reading this, I went & looked at my WTC setting & found it on 1.0 (so totally non-linear) - can't think that I've ever looked at this. After a quick change to 0.5 & I'm finding these cars much more controllable

No, Christmas Day :wmann3: is for the whole family, so will be playing (xxxxxx) with my son during the day, eating the obligatory half a stone of turkey and then, I suspect I just might have a shandy too many in the evening after he's in bed... :drink: Suspect a number of people will have a similar itenary.

mmm, I think I'd happily pay £12 every couple of years for an update... (S4,5,6 etc)

Think of it like 'licensing' and £6 a year isn't too bad at all (at work I pay out about £40,000 a year for various software licences)
