... a Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Controller with XBCD drivers...

I'm basically looking for any good, fun game I could use with my 360 controller, (other than LFS, GRID, TDU, TMUF, VT3, etc.).

All good ideas/games are gladly accepted, just notice the fact that I have two systems that I use for games (the higher end one that is not working has GRID, TDU and TMUF) so try not to post many hardware overwhelming games:

1. The computer I'm posting from now:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 (don't know model)
GPU: ATI RADEON 9550 256MB AGP 8x
RAM: 2GB DDR
Free HDD space: (as of 6/6/09) 13.1GB

2. The non-working one that I'm fixing and upgrading in another thread:

CPU: Intel Pentium D 805 @ 2.67ghz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX 512MB PCI-E 16x
RAM: Geil 2GB DDR2 SDRAM
Free HDD space: approx. 37-40GB or more.

On other note, I'm looking forward to NFS:WO, NFS:SHIFT, GT5, FM3, etc.

I've installed my wired 360 controller ages ago using that xbcd guide and it's working perfectly...

[EDIT: Make sure you follow everything the guide says exactly, be fastidious.]

I've found that if you increase the Analogue Steer Smooth in Options>Misc, to about 0.5 or so, it helps to reduce the twitchyness of the controller when steering. Also, make sure that you are steering smoothly yourself on the actual controller, as it doesn't help the Smoothing if you are constantly jerking the controller from side to side, driving a car isn't like that, especially in LFS.

What you put in = how quick/slow you are in LFS.

Smooth inputs from both triggers, careful smooth steering and focus are the key to getting the best out of your humble 360 controller, before getting an actual wheel controller (i.e. G25 or even Microsoft 360 racing wheel).

I've found a couple of potential motherboards: Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 Asrock Penryn1600SLIX3-WiFi Any word on these? Oh and soon dropping by the computer parts store to get a good quality PSU to replace the non-working one... (550W-600W for use in upgrading?)

Hi,

Would I be able to use include your Mitsubishi Lancer Evo wheel texture for a texture mod I'm making?

Thanks...

I really want to get S2...

Maybe the community will see more lights/lights and interior mods from me in the near future.

It's been a joy making these lights, and I hope everyone that uses them will have a great time, whether for S1/S2/CMX Viewer.

If someone does use them in a screenshot/video, please remember to say that I made these lights dds.

Thanks for all of your help.

Just to clear up some more confusion of my currently not working system (good for its time, even now as decent/good) the specs are:

CPU: Intel Pentium D 805 (stock speeds as I haven't overclocked it) (Smithfield)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX 512 (notice its the 512, not just the standard GTX, and its a pain to find the newest compatible nvidia drivers that actually say my card is supported)
MB: Asrock 775i945GZ (it does not have an AGP port (otherwise how would I fit a 7800 GTX 512?), but an AGI port (Asrock Graphics Interchange something (PCI-E x16 sized, can accept AGP, but when in PCI-E, the port lanes are the equivalent of a PCI-E x4))
PSU: Antec 450W (don't know the model) (Probably on its last legs, as I tried using short circuiting the jumpers when I tried to power on outside of the case, but didn't work)
SND (sound card): Creative SB Live! Player 1024

Again, thanks everyone for their help, and I'll be looking out for the new parts in the near future.

Nice screenshots...
I'm just glad I could contribute... Oh and thanks for using them too.

There's some really minor things to iron out to get it perfect, but overall, I think it's what I set out to make.

[edit: just posting newest revision, with really minor tweaks, i.e. some tail light tweaks, something in the headlights, etc. This inspires me to make the interior and the steering wheel texture too!]

Quote from TheFlexican :Well for 150 U can get a 4850 or a 4870 (im not familiar with dollars) but those are both pretty damn good cards. But remember that ur processor will be bottlenecking ur videocard

Sounds great... Although my MB unfortunately doesn't support those cards (according to the board manufacturer anyway), I calculated somewhere I has almost $3000 spare...

But the budget will be about $300-500 for a new system instead... So the MB won't be a problem, nor will the CPU, so it's all set.

Thanks...

Glad to hear it. Has anyone tried them so far? If so, what do they think of it?

Quick Edited picture by Paint.NET, (raw picture from CMX Viewer).
It's not my skin, I'm not sure whose it is, but whoever created it is highly credited.

That's the front so far, the back I'm still working on, although there may have to be a compromise with the those rear lights. That dds I posted is the trial so far (I asked for permission to post the dds already).

Could anyone post ingame test screens? I don't know how these will light up.

[EDIT: Taillights sort of done below]
[EDIT2: Had to remove this dds as the newest is at a lower post anyway, for reasons of limited storage anyway]

Just a Trial...

I'm not sure how these will light up...

(I couldn't get the PM attachment working)

[Edit: had to remove old dds to get space for newest dds, and old dds is obsolete anyway.]

Thanks, but there's going to have to be a compromise with the tail lights, as the Evo lights themselves will fit the shape of the FXO, however I don't know how well they will light up as I only have CMX Viewer.

I'll see if I can PM you/S14DRIFT the dds to test.

Thanks for your help...

I agree about the low resolution, so I'm trying to find some good pictures of those lights.

@Rikkiwhitehead, thanks for that image, most of the pictures I found are slightly off angle, but that's perfect.

Erm, not a bad effort to start?

Quote from ThunderX86 :Since you have access to all skins and carmodels in the s2 viewer, it should'nt be a problem as long as you're not going to post an ingame screenshot but one from the viewer.

Exactly what I was intending to post a screenshot from, (the CMX viewer). What other option is there? I don't have access to the car by any other means.
Quote from S14 DRIFT :If you're making textures I'm sure an exception is allowed.. use CMX view to get the screenshots.

Thanks, luckily I have the CMX Viewer installed not too long ago for skins.

Quick Question: Could I help this person, as I have Paint.Net and Photoshop, even though I'm Demo and I know I can't use this anyway?

I would really love to contribute to the LFS community somehow, however this limitation of not posting S2 content is detriment to this aspiration.

Just randomly,

When your friends are convinced you have a girlfriend from just talking to a girl that you have never thought about liking, and though you deny it profusely, you're worried that you might actually like her.

That's quite an awesome project there...

So what do you plan to do/have when it comes to the computer system mounted in the rear?

Yes, thanks for replying, I am going to upgrade the motherboard eventually, just when I actually get it working. (Must be a power supply issue) To be honest, I don't discriminate/favour any specific side (I own a ATI 9550 in the computer I'm typing on now, a spare Nvidia 6600GT, and the 7800 GTX 512...) So any card in the price range of $150-250, that would be of great value.. @BoyGTA, you're right, the CPU in the computer is a Intel Pentium D 805 at stock speeds.
7800 GTX 512 to ???

Hi all... My main computer (its not working right now, does not turn on) is a ASROCK 775i945GZ, and I installed a Nvidia 7800 GTX 512 on it not too long ago... I play GRID on it, but I only seem to get 45-60 fps usually, at mostly Low settings, with car detail set to High... I wanted to upgrade my video card on my computer, but as my MB only has a AGI port, (think PCI-E x16 sized, but essentially PCI-E x4), I'm severely limited in my choice... I'm looking for something better than my current card, so basically 8 series and up... Or should I stay with what I have?

Oh well.. Awesome times Smolar...

I tried my hardest and got about 1.37.9 to 1.38.5 with both XFG and XRG, but none were worth posting...

If this is the start of more competitions like this, then its ultimately a good idea to invigorate friendly competition between Demo'ers, as well as improving their driving skills on the track. Maybe next time there is another driving competition like this, that the people who missed out will step up to be a winner...
