IMO custom bodykits for LFS are just... wrong.

Bodykits are for tuner games like NFS/juiced/etc, where they have little effect and are usually overworked eyesores on cars. Except for the well designed ones of course by manufacturers...

I know we can't, that's why I put that" " emoticon.

XRG doesn't have turbo, so not possible by any normal means with the Turbo side.

Racy DTM V8 sound might sound strange.

So to adapt one of my lights to XR....

Headlights are definitely no, and tailights are sort of possible.

I'll get on it.

It's another illegal .vob edit, so it can't be shared on the forum. (I don't even know where it is at)

Well from that perspective, at least this game made it to the handheld when it was threatened with numerous cancellations...

Okay, those that care about GT/console racing sims yes is awaiting GT5 (not saying that I was not), however this is just a good achievement for the PSP, which is of course massively inferior to what GT5 will be.

For every LFS player that has/knows someone that has/is interested in Gran Turismo on a PSP; it is officially in production.

I've just seen the videos and news today and I'm astounded at what Polyphony Digital have brought up for the PSP, after some 4 years from the handheld's initial release to now.

Here's one of many videos for the game:

Quote from ALLE123 :Hi, I need a sound for XRG or XRT...

Those DTM cars are naturally aspirated V8s if I may presume. So I;m guessing you want a racy turboed V8 sound?

For XRT?

Sorry for the confusion, I mean to say that whether XRG or XRT, those lights on the second video are a .vob edit, and therefore illegal by the rules/agreement every LFS player signed and accepted when they started.

Neither of those lights are possible to make work in-game by legal and normal means.

Offtopic: In 0.6 A version most likely... But the release date is unsure...but it would be released sometime in the near future.

Ontopic: Making a seat texture mod for the Scirocco would be a challenge, as those two files make differing parts of the seat itself.

Let's expand on this:

Do you want a .eng for your FBM that makes it's 1.2L I4 sound like a 2.4L V8?

If so, I'm sure you could request it in Engine Sound Sharing/Gill's Sound Workshop (go easy on the requests for Gills)

[EDIT: If you have CSR, that'll be another way...]

I'm an avid user of your Revolution Pack... I can't wait for the August Release!

Both of those are not possible with the way LFS lights up the XRG.

To elaborate:
Second one is a .vob edit, illegally made and distributed, obviously in violation of the rules. And also we demo'ers can't access the XRT unless licensed.

First one is made with a MOVIE EDITING program called Adobe After-Effects or something.

(BTW, your english is fine...)

Check your CMX viewer's dds folder, as it should have VWS_cloth or something...

I think the seat is a mixture of textures starting with VWS_ but I think you should try moving all of them outside of the dds folder, then putting one by one each one back in, and using CMX Viewer to see which one(s) make the seat texture.

[Edit: I've just tried it and I'm absolutely sure it is VWS_cloth1 and VWS_cloth2 that make up the main seat. VWS_cloth3stitch and VWS_cloth2stitch are maybe the edges of the seat and a few places on the dash/interior]

Seems to be a lot of voters for the 350Z...

Anyway, I wasn't actually thinking of a F430, but that seems like a great idea.

A 996 generation of the Porsche 911 I had thought of when I was making the poll, however, part of the lights must be included on skins to aid the lights in looking as good as possible. The 997 I thought would be a better suit as the simplified light clusters would be able to fit in the FZ50's headlights with no necessary extras on skins.

Also, I've had a look at the facelifted 997 generation for 2009...
They're looking good.

Would my Evo lights made for a S1 user be worthy for the list?
Lights Project 2

I'm starting another lights/maybe interior too for another car in LFS, (since my FXO Evo IX lights was great...), this time the FZ50/FZ50 GTR.

The lights or either a Porsche 911 or maybe a 350Z came to mind as ideas, however I was not sure which one I should make. (Queue Poll)

Please vote in the poll to help me decide whether for the 911 or the 350Z or another car.

Welcome jmat66...

(I don't think you should have posted your email address in a worldwide public forum...but anyway..)

Any computer with even a Pentium III and higher (much higher is better), and a graphics card from not too long ago (2000 at the max) should be enough to get you going, albeit at not too much FPS...

My system that I'm posting on now has a Pentium IV with an ATI RADEON 9550 (which is pretty mainstream to low by today's standards) and it plays LFS beautifully with a few nice graphical addons. (130 fps but has V Sync)

Of course a lot of the members here have much better systems with 280+fps, even with bloom effect, high-res textures etc...

Step 3. Play and Enjoy!

If you have kept up til this stage, then well done!

You have probably gone straight to this step anyway, so let's not waste anymore time.

Select any game mode where you are on the track, (i.e. Single player, Hotlapping, even Multiplayer) and see one of your selected songs play, followed by your other selected songs.

E.g. (Notice the Play: normal, which is the name of one of the example songs)

Enjoy your new music in LFS!

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks.

That's why I stated before, that this may not be the easiest option, but it is for those who like a challenge.

It is also for those who hate having to/are not able to use a media player over LFS, those that (when carrying LFS around with them on a drive), do not have the space for their mp3's, those who dislike having to minimise LFS for changing something in their media player, etc...

Sorry for the delay...

Step 2: Channel Creation

Now that you have your Ogg/Vorbis files sorted, lets check your LFS folder>data>ogg to verify that all your files have converted.

Use this image as a guide

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... muwfyo5ag?feat=directlink

(Note: The Ogg/Vorbis files shown in the image and later in the tutorial are only to be used as an example, so the actual filenames of your Ogg/vorbis files are whatever you named them when you converted them.)

Next, start up LFS (it must be in the LFS folder you converted the music to in its data>ogg subdirectory), and click Options>Audio.

Image below as guide.

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... yNnTwjRAg?feat=directlink

Now, click Channels.

You should have this interface appear if you haven't already made changes:

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... q9vwGswTw?feat=directlink

Notice that on the left is a list of channels, (i.e. a playlist of songs from the library), and on the right is the library/reservoir of tracks (Ogg/Vorbis format).

After that, you should click New, on the right hand side, as many times as needed to add your converted tracks.

Image:

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... J3RhSQ9VA?feat=directlink

Then, for each added track (named Track 1,2, and such), select Name on the right hand side, and select one of the converted tracks (in this example: besaid):

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... WpXEIIQoQ?feat=directlink

After the first selection, you should have the track's name (filename) instead of Track #.

E.g. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... C7gimK9XQ?feat=directlink

Then repeat for the other tracks:

e.g. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... LdrKwCMmw?feat=directlink

Now, once you have added all the tracks to the library on the right, click New on the left hand side to add an new channel.

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... n60pyyNQg?feat=directlink

Take note of the Channel 2 that has just appeared. That is your custom channel.

(Important Note: Do not edit the Channel 1, as that is the default channel of LFS, unless you know what you are doing, which of course you will, but after this tutorial.)

To edit the name of Channel 2 that has just appeared, (or not, if you happen to be one of a small group of people who like default names or are too lazy to change them), click Name on the left hand side. (for this example, I'm going to change the name to FFX, as these songs are from Final Fantasy X )

E.g. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... 5A95QsniA?feat=directlink

Now, your chosen name should appear instead of Channel 2, (or maybe the same if you like default names...). Now, now notice that each song has little dashes next to them, and a left and right arrow.

The arrows are to select (depending on which channel is selected), how many times a song is to be played, if at all, in a playlist. When a dash is next to a song, in the currently selected channel, it means it will NOT play in that channel. If you change the number to 1 or more, it means it WILL play in that channel, how ever many times you specified.

Now, change all the songs you recently added to have a 1 in the rightmost column on the library, and make sure you have (whatever you named your channel) selected too.

E.g. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... SJu-jhqBg?feat=directlink

Next, click Save to save your current channel configuration.

E.g. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... cCG3HK8gw?feat=directlink

Press OK.

Now you will see your newly created channel to select next to Ingame music.

E.g. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... yWrg6zP9w?feat=directlink

Select it.

E.g. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh ... SUqDr7Zmg?feat=directlink

Now take the next step...

Okay, just to be sure, have you installed the Microsoft 360 controller drivers before XBCD?

To configure the controller properly, you need to install the standard Microsoft drivers, then XBCD, then update the controller drivers with the XBCD driver.

Then select the XBOX360Default.xgi in the XBCD setup utility, then calibrate the controller in the Game Controllers window in Control Panel, then select any .xgi to your heart's desire.

Make sure you test your controller's rumble motors actually function through the XBCD Setup Utility.

Step 1: Conversion of your music.

To start, you need at least one song to have in your LFS, or else why use this function at all...

You need to use a converter program for your music, if it is not already in Ogg/Vorbis format, to encode it in the Ogg Vorbis format, which can be easily done by (I've found), a 3rd party media player, such as VLC Media Player.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

If you do have it installed, or once it is installed, open it up and click Media>Convert/Save, then click your music file, and press Convert/Save.

Then select Ogg/Vorbis from the dropdown menu and tick the box next to File at the top.

Click Browse... Then select your LFS folder>data>ogg, then type the music's name with '.ogg' (without apostrophes).

Then finally click Save and wait for it to finish. You'll notice the file size is much smaller than your previous file.

If needed, repeat the conversion process for your other files, and take the next step.
In-Game Radio Tutorial

Alright, this is a tutorial in brief, explaining how to utilise in-game radio with your own songs, (provided you chose this obviously harder option instead of a 3rd party music player with LFS).

I'm not sure if an actual tutorial has been posted yet on it, and I have searched to see if there was, (there was not), so I've decided to make one anyway for new players who like a challenge.
