There are no LFS files in the registry. LFS is an unzip and play SIM, no installing or anything. I honestly have no idea why you got un-liscensed if you kept the entire LFS directory. But backing up your misc folder will keep you liscensed.

Skins can be carried over, but they will look horrible because the wrapping/mapping system of S2 cars is alot different then it was in S1

Slickmod requires the host to be using the same version of slickmod as you, just like AndroidXP said. But smokemod is a mod that can be used online+offline on any server. It only effects visual things on your computer, so it will not do anything to the server.
