You could use a proxy server to connect to it maybe ?

Or go to google and google the web address, then when it finds the correct one click on the "cache" link.

I have one, but my spur gear/clutch section is messed up. I hit throttle and the thing doesn't move. At least I fixed it and it starts up now

Gunn, there are more then plenty of suitable drift courses in the US. But they choose the Irwindale speedway (They do, right?) And I think Raceway park here in NJ, because it is a challenging track, with many twists and turns

Just overall, we could use some point to point races, which someone (I think Sam) has said is impossible due to LFS's engine.

Or maybe that was an open course.

Quote from drift_apprentice :If only there are at least 1 track purely designed for drifting... U sure can drift on current tracks, but they r not designed for drifting, what i mean is their layout is for grip racing.

A good drift track need few doglegs(mid speed chicanes) so u can link the drifts together. Also hi speed sweepers and hairpins. Corners should not be too far apart from each other. If u look at the drift section on Tsukuba or Sugo or any race tracks that offered a section for drifting, u will c what i mean -> corners that r close to each other, especially chicanes! The track width is not too narrow too, so u can do some hi speed drifts without easily hitting the walls.

We have mid speed chiacnes.
We can link drifts together
High speed sweepers and hairpins? Yeah, got em.
Corners far apart? Nope. Fern bay club, have fun.
High speed drifts without hitting walls? South City? What?

Check.

Quote from P1lot :I believe the jump object is only available at the Blackwood environment.
Is this true?

Yes indeed it is, sadly. I wouldn't mind some jumps at Fern Bay/AutoX

Quote from deggis :Boring drifting edits. You've seen one, you've seen 'em all...

Wow...that wasn't stereotypical...Since probably 50% of them are not drifting shots, but go ahead Deggis, keep talking.

No actually there are like 12-15 edits on the first page...2 of them are drifting. So, okay. Whatever.

Quote from cannonfodder :Shiver me timbers, you're right! So much for the 3-tier purchase setup. S1 was cheap by any standard and S2 is in the mid to low range of PC game prices. By the time S3 rolls around it'll be at the very high end of game prices. For us the upgrade will only be a low 12 pounds, but for new players it'll have lost the incentive of a low cost of entry with options for car/track expansions.

Well think about that, why would the devs want people to buy S1? They will be like "Yeah sweet, S1! Let's go online and race!"

Quote from 96 GTS :Fiber optic, and I have no clue how fast it really is. I've benchmarked it at 12,000 kb/s down and 12,000 kb/s up, so it's pretty speedy.

If I'm right, fiber optics is the fastest wire. Optimum Lightpath huh? Good stuff

I know I have 100mbps bandwidth. The highest download speed I've gotten in mozilla was 8000kbps (No, not a typo) and I believe my 4000kbps

Perhaps opening ports 80+81? Which I believe is what TCP/HTML uses. Of course, don't take my word on this, because I'm usually wrong.

I don't think the web page being a certified and secured site would have anything to do with it?

If you all have not seen this yet, you best check it out. The LFS-Torque Edited Screens thread. Basically throughout the entire 78 or so pages of the thread you will see everyone's edits improving, and lately people have been cranking out some extremely beautiful work. You'll be missing out if you don't look at it.

Quote from Forbin :Why the hell would you want that?

So that with 900 degrees of steering, the padels don't turn with the wheel, therefore you can shift while turning.

Quote from AndroidXP :First (and slightly OT), it is reported that the 6600GT series has serious problems with AF, often causing texture shimmering or "pixel walking". AFAIK nVidia already works on a driver to fix these problems. A way to soften this shimmering is to turn the driver option of "Negative LOD bias" to "Clamp" and to set the MipMap LOD to a value of 0.3-0.5 (which can be done with the tool RivaTuner).

I'm way too lazy for that. I have my drivers forcing 4x AA and 8x AF on everything, and I only noticed such things in LFS.

Nothing special.
Ricer's skin on the right is what makes it a bit jagged I think. It got downloaded off LFSW.

Quote from Dupson :yeah you have some strong points there.

For me the most striking one is :

Why the hell glass is completly transparent ????
(im talkin about "from inside" view of course )

its a basic feature to implement, that will give a better feeling of being inside that damn car. Its easy to implement and every modern graphic card will handle such stuff without problem. simple as that

You can change the glass with a DDS editor. People have changed the window tint's colors even.

Next attempt to make LFS look bad? It just doesn't happen.

Quote from GT4Fan :I got a DFP and learned how to drift in Gran Turismo 4. And now, a year later, I learned drifting in LFS in 2 days. I dont know if it's the wheel or the GT4 experience.
GT4 is a different game from LFS so I guess the wheel is alot of an advantage.
The DFP is one of the best wheels out there with very good Force Feedback and perhaps thats why it makes it so easy for me. Get a wheel people:P

I think it's just GT4. With the proper setup drifting is quite easy in the game. I actually was linking turns within a few hours
