That right there is my dream rig.
Shame I'm not from the UK though.
Do you know what the ambient temperature is? I get roughly 40 degrees on idle with a similar cooler, and the ambient temperature is roughly 20-25 degrees.
I've been following it since the start, it's come a long way, even though it seemingly hasn't. Now, are we going back to the topic of Soft-body physics being implemented into LFS, which is the original topic?
I can confirm that the next public RoR release will improve Quad-core support. I should have applied to be a Beta tester though, but I check the forums often.
I might even benefit from a 30% increase, since I have a triple-core atm, who knows.
I also could try to pitch in to make a better animation for the character too (I have a Kinect and few other webcams laying around.)
One movie I just watched for the first time.. The Original Jurassic Park movie on Blu-Ray. I was on the edge of my seat way more than any other, even Transformers 1 and 2, despite the excessive video grain.
A wheel with less than 360 degrees should be a good starter wheel, I started playing S2 with a Logitech MOMO Racing which has 270 degrees of steering (which still works, and is sitting in the garage, although the FFB motor shorted out due to a big pound on it in frustration on another matter, not racing), Now I'm on the big guns. (G25, for 3.5 years now)
LFS works perfectly with my friend's 10-year old Microsoft Sidewinder (No FFB, just a funky Centering spring.)
The rev limiter really doesn't give you an advantage, it just slows you down if you keep riding it instead of not having it. I've been using Rama's for the past few months on multiple servers, no issues, except that I'm slower than I usually would be. It's fun on Drift servers especially.
