I agree, they have the best durability if i remember correctly. I have heard the Fanatec Porsche wheels break often, as I know someone that had to replace the whole system at least 3 times in a year.
I'm sure that another way to save the hassle of opening the directory all the time, is to associate the files to LFS itself. When opening the file, it automatically copies the file to the appropriate folder. I think skins do not work with this feature. I have tested layout (.lyt) and setup (.set) files to say the least.
I'm sure it's because of the current DirectX version, I would say it's more related to the window bug than the LX Licence plate bug. The LX plate bug is just a 3D model placement issue.
Judging from the pictures, I see a good improvement, but I wonder if it's possible to do a side-by-side view video comparing both new and old tire physics calculations to see how much improvement.
I liked it, but I actually was expecting either a police car to be involved in the chase, or one of the vehicles to "crash and burn".
When I heard the ending (with the heartbeat), it made me think that something was going to happen, like another car trying to take out the red FXO, or maybe something else that's also dramatic would happen.
I used the profiler and a similar program called "Xpadder" for both. There is a new Xpadder release (July 23rd) but it is not free. (It costs $19 if I remember correctly, paid through the internet)
My handbrake is a simply a button mapped to a key on the keyboard with the profiler. I used the left wheel button as a "shift" button to activate the secondary mode of the handbrake button, which is mapped to itself if pressed in shift mode in the profiler. I mapped a "toggle" command in Xpadder to the key I set as the handbrake.
The lights were done by using Xpadder (The profiler hasn't been able to "hold" a control really, it just had a repeat rate option). I mapped the button to the key that makes the headlights flash (by default, "G"). One drawback is that it constantly keeps pressing "G", and it messes up a chat message. I think a possible solution would be to make the script press backspace after it presses "G". (it's the same way tommy did on his strobe program and it worked for him).
Also, in case anyone is curious, the way I made looking (incrementally I think, but I don't know the proper word to describe it) possible was the same kind of idea as above, and mapped some of the POV's buttons (left, right and down) in LFS and the rest in Xpadder (in addition to the left and right buttons), the left button is mapped to the right look in Xpadder and vice versa.
The profiler can't have more than 1 assignment at once per control (ie. If you map a button in the profiler to "A", the ingame control will go to "A", and not the button's control itself). If you map it in Xpadder, it goes to the button's command and to the set key in Xpadder.
I will test the method said a few paragraphs above, and share my findings.
EDIT:I found that backspace worked in a way, but it did not allow chat messages to show, It erases everything, I should try a quicker speed to see if it improves.

Reason : done observations
I personally use the top black button on the shifter to use the handbrake in LFS, it works for me quite well. I also made a "holding" command for the handbrake, it holds the handbrake when activated (just like a real car), even in gear. It's useful when parking in a cruise server. If someone bumps my car, it won't go rolling down the road (and probably cause an accident).
But for some other games (that I prefer to use the paddles, or games that have no proper gearing systems), I use the H-gate on sequential mode for the handbrake. It gives me a faint idea of what a handbrake should feel like, (I never drove a real car though).
I am however quite lazy to make my own handbrake, or to go out and buy a joystick.
I'll post my setup as well, as some are already
POV pad to look (pressing the corner buttons between top and side show 45* and the side buttons show 90*, all buttons that are on the lower side, including corners, show rear view)
Left red button on wheel + paddles turn left and right turning signals on (and off), and bottom black button on shifter turns all signals on (and off).
Starter on far right red button on shifter (convenient enough for me)
Headlights on far left button (I made them turn on and off, instead of just flashing)
Handbrake on top black button (same comment as beginning of post)
I have mapped shifting on the paddles and the H-gate's sequential mode (thanks to external programs).
I can add that LFS' car sound is synthesized on the fly.
I would say a headset with a mic will do, using a camera with a decent mic (as said above) will also do fine, my (Casio EX-Z150) point and shoot camera is good at recording sounds if I use the video capture mode, and is not if I use the sound recording mode. I sometimes record the sound file directly with a microphone to save the hassle of of converting to certain formats over and over. Audacity is a good program to edit and record sound files, and it's free.
It's part of a playlist that mostly contains The Prodigy, Pendulum, Jan "Materia/Tectonic/Hidden Lab" Warnstam, Miklo, and some other songs including remixes of Giorgio Moroder's best songs.
I agree with DragonCommando right there, I do the same thing to my ripped songs, I have them set to the bitrate of 128. I can't distinguish much of a difference between a song at 128 Kbit compared to a 320 Kbit version of it, even on my Logitech X-240 sound system. I listen mostly to rock and electronic music in general, drum & bass, trance, techno, etc.
The EQ is an important piece of equipment for playback and recording that can filter certain frequencies. I asked my older brother who even made his room into a music studio, as well as my father, who helps set up sound systems for company parties, both said that the EQ can be used as a filter necessary to make certain effects.
It is an option that can be set via the volume app. To go to it (at least on my PC), click the options and then click properties. From there, there should be a selection showing "other". There also should be a drop down menu, that might have more than one selection.
Once "EQ" is selected, check all of the items in the list below it.
To change back, do the same process, but select playback instead.
I have been wondering this since I got my new Logitech (X-240 model) sound system for my PC. I wonder what would be the best EQ (or any other) setting to get the best mix between treble and bass. (currently I have every setting at the same level, at the maximum)
I have a SoundMAX card and drivers in case anyone asks.
