As far as I know, this game is based off of NASCAR 2003.

Because Papyrus (the company that really made it) Sold the rights of NASCAR 2003 a few years ago.

I think 2005 is the year they sold the rights to iRacing.

But those cars really look like they're just little mods to the original. I can judge that because I own the game NASCAR 2003.
