I would say a Swatch "Plastic Chrono" (analog) watch. I own one and my father bought it in Munich, Germany for 80 € (about $CDN 110)
I also have a 10 year old Timex Expedition (digital) Digital Compass watch (bought for $CDN 40 when new) as well. Timex watches IMO are inexpensive, yet quite functional.
I'm actually thinking that they are faking it. I honestly think they still want to keep the person who actually is the stig a secret. Maybe I should work for Top Gear (or it's part of BBC) and see...
My best guess would be that either the Logitech Profiler software has different pedal axis settings than LFS (and GTR), or if the throttle and brake controls are not defined. If for example, the game is set to "Split Axis" throttle/brake, set it the same in the Logitech Profiler software.
To check if pedals are set to separate axis mode, open the Logitech Profiler, click the options menu, then choose the "Global Device Settings" option on the menu.
If "Report Combined Pedals" is checked, it should be the reason as far as I'm concerned.
Check the default textures on www.LFS-database.com to get defaults, or if you want a different texture with default resolution, resize the current DDS files accordingly.
A user on another forum had the same issue with a Fanatec similar to yours. He made a couple of threads about multiple wheels that were the same breaking.
You can make them with any image editor, a free alternative to Adobe Photoshop is GIMP, which can load PSD files made by Photoshop.
A template can be loaded there to make skins look better, the wireframe is for texture mapping references as far as I know. The template is available here.
I have an ASUS EN9600 GT GPU currently, it's powered by thea Nvidia GeForce 9600GT chip. my first computer back in '02 had an integrated Intel card (10 FPS on LFS or less), then my next PC had an Ati Radeon Xpress 200 Series (integrated with 128 mb max). The integrated GPU that came with this computer's MB (ASUS M2NPV-VM, a media centre board) is an Nvidia GeForce 6 series (256 mb max), my PC was supposed to be a media centre for the TV, but the tuner card for it was not working.
Have you checked if the shifter is plugged in to the wheel? Also, is the G25 being detected as a DFP? I had an issue that was similar to your description, but plugging the shifter to the wheel fixed my problem, the cable was loose.
Just a suggestion to this idea, why not get the crowd stir a little bit if a car spins out or some other event (applauding from recovering from a near crash), or even "cheering on" the car in last position, instead of just approaching the spectators.
I also have a couple of examples I recorded in Montreal last June of this kind of thing. The spin out example was of a Porsche 911 race car. Most of the time the crowd is silent, if not quiet. The only voices heard most of the time are from the commentators talking on loudspeakers.
I think it was in 1995, when I tried Windows 3.1 for the first time (I was 3 then), I had to call "Mommy" or "Daddy" (or even my brother, who was 5 then), to type commands to play cheesy games that used the Motherboard speaker, such as a Fisher Price farm game with "interactive" interface, or a Game called "Bananoid" which had a small paddle and a ball, and the objective is trying to keep a ball up, to hit blocks for as long as possible, It was my brother's favourite, and so was mine.
It seems ok for a first set of skins, but as daleffinho said, remove the white surrounding the headlights. This can be done using GIMP, with the spot healing tool or some other ways in Paint.NET.
My best guess is the PSU, if the PC is shutting off on its own, maybe check if some lights on the computer are still on. (ie. The lights at the back if there are any)
My second guess would be the motherboard, maybe a power cord connection is loose, causing the instant shutdown.
I use 2 monitors on my desktop, and everyone that comes by thinks I have 2 computers. My mother has not known why I have 2 monitors, she thinks it's totally useless. I constantly keep telling her that it is to keep my eye on various things at once. If my LFS is full screen, I can see who is sending a message to me over Skype or MSN Messenger on the other screen, as the sounds cannot be heard on my LFS, and to see what song is playing in Winamp. This also helps me with some other things, such as using a reference photo on one screen, and the image editing software used to skin cars on the other screen, which would be more convenient to be the closer screen. Both LCDs I have are connected directly to my Nvidia powered ASUS card, Everything goes fine, but I get some lag with the cursor when I minimize LFS, for example. I am sure this is because of my motherboard which is a bit old, and has been abused a bit (not by overclocking).
I have been able to handle an RAC quite well recently, much better than before, although I occasionally get a small "kickback" from the car on some turns, when using the default setup. I have made my own setup which resolved this issue, for me at least. It has worked with my driving style, I basically floor it on straights and brake slightly on turns. I have softened the suspension a bit (as said in the link at the bottom of my post) and I lowered the ride height a bit also. I suppose the softer suspension fixed the problem I had.
I actually like driving the RA a lot though, it makes me feel woken up, It might as well be the "Ariel Atom" of LFS in my opinion.
The RAC only has a Turbocharged Saab engine, not like a Honda race car engine, like I thought.
