to me rig n roll was gonna be great but 2 things have been a real let down, firstly time it has taken and the constant movig of goal post with the release date and secondly and this really is the main one, no multiplayer, they have removed it, that was gonna be its star feature
Went to buy this today only to find it has to be a credit card :/

Only credit card in the house is my mum's and it's bloody expired.

Consider yourself lucky you didn't waste your money then
Quote from Stefani24 :If you ever played 18wos, youre gonna be disappointed by ets.
But rign'roll is looking good.

Yeah, 18WOS is a pretty good game. Which one have you played? I used to own 18WOS:Hard Trucks but i lost the CD. I'm installing ets right now, hopefully it'll work in Wine.

Played Across America very much, bit Haulin too
I tried 18WoS:Across America very briefly, but I'll be returning it. First off, it took me an hour to get it working in Vista x64, it kept crashing on startup. Eventually, I got it working, but I could play in max 800x600 resolution (which in it's self is a joke, when you're used to 1920x1080...), with 16bit colour and every other option turned off or down to the lowest, with no AA. Fair enough I thought, maybe the sim itself will make up for it.

Umm, no...I started in San Fransisco, spent 10 minutes trying to set up my wheel, and as soon as I took off zoomed up to 30mph and hit a wall. Lovely. And the brakes have absolutley no effect when you go below, say, 20. After that you're relying on momentum to slow you down, which isn't very dependable when travelling downhill...And the steering isn't recognised properly either, so I have to counter-steer to straighten up, which gets boring. All in all, it's actually far worse than ETS

On a better note, I'm currently downloading EU Map 1.3 for ETS, which, if it all goes smoothly, will mean a far better game
Across America is quite dated now, but all the SCS truck games have that annoying steering bug. You get used to it but it is far worse in ETS, takes roughly 90 degrees on the G25 at any speed and it goes bonkers, whereas most the 18WOS games will get a lot more degrees unless you're at high speed.

As for the brakes, use the motorbrake/jakebrake. It's quite unrealistic in how it slows you down so quickly, but it'll stop you much quicker than using the normal brakes alone.

If you're interested in any of the SCS truck games, i'd say get 18WOS:American Long Haul. It's basically the same as Haulin' but with the addition of a couple of trucks and a new part of the map opened up with a handful of new cities.

ETS was a big disappointment. If you want european trucks then just download some mods for the 18WOS games and put up with the american roads. There might even be some european maps available too, not 100% on that though.

Also, like someone else said above, disappointed in Rig'n'Roll with the release dates being useless and the loss of the multiplayer. That was it's main selling point for me. Maybe they'll release it in a future patch, who knows. Will be good to actually play it first.
Rignroll is pretty outdated to lol, although the damage looks nice
Don't buy Euro Truck Simulator, it's seriously bad. It's just as bad ass all the other games from SCS Software. It's cheap and it's nasty.

Just like all the other games they've made, they've put no effort into sounds, controls, physics or depth to the game. It's a real waste. I beg anyone not to buy it. You WILL be disappointed.
I really like this game actually, it plays fine with a gamepad and the EU 1.3 mod really adds some good roads. The physics feel fine with the "physics v3" mod from Eurotrucksim.org. Only annoying thing is getting a Wrong Way penalty when overtaking on single carriageways.
